Being A Movie Star Who Would I Be
70
I Was Born With An Enormous Need Of Affection
Deciding to take a break from writing about Suzy and Forrest and jumping to the Q&A I ran across a fun little request that was just to tempting and could not be passed by. BadCompany99 asked, " If you could be a movie star dead or alive, who would you be?"
Question appeared to be rather simple but then I found myself pacing and thinking, seeking out the pros and cons, reviewing them for their talent and ability , honestly asking myself who would I choose to be ,over and over there was only one person who came to mind, if I could be any actress who would have been known for her talent, elegance, poise, sophistication, charm and beauty it certainly was Audrey Hepburn. Her career began in the English cinema and after being selected for the part of "Gigi" on Broadway, Audrey Hepburn in 1953 finally made her debut in Hollywood in which she had been cast in "Roman Holiday" and also took homeher first
Oscar for best actress for playing a bored little princess who appeared to be smothered by her guardians who watched over her and fell in love with an American news reporter(Gregory Peck) in the beautiful city of Rome.
Audrey Hepburn-Ruston was christened Audrey Kathleen Ruston and had been born to Baroness Ella Van Heemstra and Joseph Ruston. She had been an aristocrat from the very beginning her father was a wealthy English banker , her mother a Dutch baroness after her parents divorced she went on to a private school for girls. Audrey endured Hitler's regime when her and her mother had been vacationing and the small town of Arnhem in Holland had been invaded by the Nazis and Audrey ended up suffering from depression and malnutrition. Once Arnhem, Holland had been liberated Audrey and her mother continued to London where Audrey attended Ballet school on a scholarship and later on began a modeling career. Her beauty, poise and grace not only captured the hearts of the producers, but also captured the hearts of the people as she went on to be cast in comedies such as Sabrina 1954, Love in the Afternoon 1957, Breakfast at Tiffany's 1961, My Fair Lady 1964, and many others.
Audrey and I have similiarities when it comes to life and our perception of what is at hand and what lies ahead. I will share with you some of the quotes that I have elegantly framed and hanging on my office wall. When I have a hectic day, I look up read and remind myself about who I am, where I have come from and which direction I need to go. Keeping myself ever so humble about my beauty. I am very evenly mannered and am sincere when being thankful and accept and admire people for who they are.
" Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, its at the end of your arm. As you get older. remember you have yet another hand: the first is to help yourself, the second is to help others."
" I was born with an enormous need of affection, and a terrible need to give it."
"I never though I'd land in pictures with a face like mine."
"For me, the only things of interest are those linked to the heart."
Audrey was naturally beautiful, elegant and ever so humble. Her style of clothing was simple and classic, her sleeveless dresses and big sunglasses were fun and stylish. She was charismatic and charming throughout her entire career. If I could be any movie star it would be Audrey Hepburn she was a woman with an enormous heart. Â

Thank you AEvans! WOW my heroine Audry Hepburn. This wonderful woman spent her later years raising money for children's charities. I admire her enormously. She was real about life.
Cindy: You should write about it !!! It was fun and I didn't know where to begin as I love Audrey Hepburn and own all of her movies, she had such class. I always wanted that outfit from My Fair Lady.lololo :)
EarnestHub: She was so wonderful and who she was, reminds me of myself she would be the star I would love to be. :)
How did I know you would pick such a classy lady?! You are exactly that way!! If I could be a movie star I would be Yvonne De Carlo. She was such a great actress and so beautiful too!!
A wonderful choice a wonderful hub. Who would I be, I really have no idea because being n actor myself I know that the persona on screen can be so different than the real person. But right off I think of two, Jimmy Stewart and Humphrey Bogart. Very different types, but so are all of me's :-)
Sandman: That is so neat I love Jimmy Stewart and Humphrey Bogart I knew based on your personality that you were one of those two types.:)
AEvans you Hub is a lovely tribute to Miss Hepburn, and you are the perfect Hubpages Miss Hepburn.
My hero in the movies was always "Tod" in Walt Disneys "Fox and the Hound" I don't know why but I don't think he ever made another movie. ;-)
Awww...she was truly lovely, wasn't she? Just the other day someone sent me an email forward with some rare pictures of Audrey Hepburn...her appeal is quite eternal I think. Good choice AE! :)
LaMatadora: You would make a great Yvonne Di Carlo as you are sultry and sexy great choice girl!!:)
agvulpes: Thank you so much and I admire her tremendously and when I was a young girl, I always wanted to be exactly like her and would follow her actions from the movies. I would enunicate just like her when she played the cockney young woman in "My Fair Lady", thank you for the warm compliment.
Feline: Thanks I think I made a good choice too and I appreciate your comment. :)
she is classically beautiful, but am I the only one who has never seen one of her movies?
OMG!! You have picked the woman of my dreams. If ever I get down I close my eyes and there she is waiting to help me through the bad times and to love me if I don't feel loved enough. I know that may seem soppy, but there it is.
She has indeed given me hope that maybe just maybe there is a woman out there who can be everything I longed for in life.
Wow that sounds a bit like a secret confession :)
I have a friend who is almost her double. (She's just a friend as she's 20 years younger than me). But you would be amazed at how much they look alike. I guess my mind makes any small ajustments to complete the fantasy ;)
I have so much to say about this that it would fill your hub so I'll maybe write my own hub.
My wife can have her Jonny Depps and Brad Pit's but for me there is only one fantasy that cuts it. Audrey Hepburn!
WHY? Because: " I was born with an enormous need of affection, and a terrible need to give it."
Thanks so much for a great Hub.
Audrey was pure class and beauty!
GT: You need to see one of her movies, you truly do as she is absolutely exquisite, I would recommend "My Fair Lady" check it out you won't be disappointed.
Zooloot: I am honored as she has always inspired me and I have loved everything about her. Although I do where capri's in the summer and cute little shirts , dresses are my thing. She is truly who I would wish to be.
Christoph: I think so too!!!:)
Audrey sure was beautiful.
In todays world I wouldn't mind being in the shoes of Beyonce. She has class.
Well, AE, you certainly picked a classy lady :-) The quotes are very good, I particularly like the one about the helping hand!
Jewels: You are so correct Beyonce' as well does have class and Audrey was beautiful wasn't she? :)
Elena: Thanks I have them hanging on my wall. :)
Ahh Audrey Hepburn the essence of beauty inside and out. :D
Hey I was the first to comment and it's gone....sob....sob....sob...
In an era that depicted woman with long flowing lustrous locks she displayed an elegant sensuality through her large Doe-like eyes and her sassy short doo.
I've seen almost all of her films. My fav's were GiGi and My Fair Lady...but of course. She made capris look sexy.
Nice job with this tribute;-)
Adrianna
You did a great job on a lady and a beauty. I have always admired her and loved her from a distance. Perhaps she and Grace Kelly define an era.

Adrianna: Thank you so much as I admire her too!!!
sixtyorso: I would say that they both do define an area and I couldn't agree with you more. :)
badcompany99: Thank you for making it a request.:)

cobraski: She is wonderful and thank you for the compliment on the choice. :)
I'm curious, have you ever tried acting; as a hobby I mean?
I wanna play as the bored little princess too! That was a good choice for celebrity.
Zooloot: I haven't ever tried it and honestly never ever thought about it, I have always been fearful of not being able to do it.
May: Wouldn't it be fun and last night I watched "My Fair Lady" again and she was quite skilled and very elegant. I love that movie. :)
What a wonderful choice. Your hub did her justice both on and off the screen. ;)
Nice hub:)
I have always enjoyed her acting. I think I would have to be John Wayne or maybe Jack Palance...I wish!
Paper Moon: Thanks so much for the warm comment.:)
MotorcycleHelmets: John Wayne or Jack Palance that is definitely a good choice and do we not all wish?:)

Good Actress ,better person ! She Is a classic .
Excellent response to the question! Learned some wonderful facts about Ms. Hepburn. I can see the parallels between you.
And don't forget the scary movie, "Wait Until Dark" where she plays a blind woman!!
Howzit going AE? Haven't heard from you for a while.
tony0724: I agree with you on that, yes she was not only a great person but a classic. :)
MM: Thank you and thanks for seeing the parallel. :)
Cindyvine: I have been working on what you sent to me, and have been getting organized, should be going strong by early midweek. :)

What is going on with you and Cindy.ooooooooooooo more secret missions, there are plenty of cases I have solved here it is incredible
BP: It is a secret mission and Nancy Drew and I cannot reveal it as it would blow our cover. :)
I wonder which star I would be?
I can't think of a particular person at the moment but perhaps someone who is a) down to earth, b) successful and c) a good role model.
marcofratelli: I believe you could be George Clooney or if it were an old actor it would be George Burns. :)
If George Clooney fits all of the above, then awesome - comes with the looks and all! I always pictured him as a bit of a ladies man though? :) Comes with the package I guess!
Nice to see the hat Avatar back AE, deff loves you in it : )
marco: I believe you would make a great George Clooney and yes it does come with the package. lolo :)
badcompany99: Yes I am back hat and all ..:D
if i am to be a movie star, i would be Alpacino. i love his movies the scent of a woman, the heat and scar face.
Jerry: That is a great one to be and you sould write about it, as it would be a fun hub. :)
I love Audrey. Seen all her old movies and commercials from when she was real young. Good hub, keep it hubbing. If I was to be a star than I would have to be John Lennon, the most musical activist in the last century.
DRG Da Real Grinc: You would make a great John Lennon and thanks for the comment. :)
People do confuse me with Antonio Bandares all the time !
tony0724: You certainly resemble him...:D Can you speak like him too?:)

You pick someone AE for me and I will go with it.xo
astray555: You are quite welcome.
Janetta: We certainly do as the classics are the best. :)
BP: If I were to pick someone beautiful, elegant and honestly she was smart it would be Marilyn Monroe. She was sultry, sexy and everyone loved her. :)
Oh seriously you know I was going to say her as she was all that dominated my mind, but I thought everyone would say yea I thought she would pick her LMAO. Well that's settled Marilyn it is. Audrey and Munroe this calls for a remake of Breakfast At Tiffanys
BP: That should be a fun and interesting story , I am definitely lookoing forward to it.:)
She was amazing! A thumbs up article and a great star to aspire.
thelesleyshow: She sure is an aspiration and I am glad again that you enjoyed the article. :)
Audrey Hepburn is an excellent choice. I guess I would be Woody Allen, if I didn't actually have to BE Woody Allen, if you know what I mean.
very nice,good hub.
gpetrou85: Again thanks.:)
I would be me!
Harvey: That is wonderful!!! You look like a movie star you really truly do. :)
I chose this hub to read (other than our animal ones:) and I admire you took the time to not just see the exterior of the late beautiful Audrey, but to look into her intellect and project that. People usually pick just who they think they'd be more attractive of, when in reality, personality makes anyone more attractive when you know things about them. Like, I think Nicole Kidman is so elegant and gracelful, talented etc. but I also see, how could she have been so blinded to fall for cruise. Sorry, not to offend your fans or you if you are a Cruise fan. It's just me that thought it was a bad decision. Great hub, nice read, and you picked great quotes as well!! :)
Katharella: No offense I am certainly not a cruise fan and I thank you for taking the time to read about Audrey she was a wonderful and warm actress with class and charm.:)
