Who am I, Really

Oh, how I wish I knew

For I'm half way thru this journey of life

And still don't have a clue

My Mom says that I'm very special

(of course she does, she's my mom and that's

what mom's are for)

ah, but back to my thoughts

My Mom says I'm very special

As we're all blessed with special gifts or talents from God

But what is mine, and how will I know

For I don't see anything special in me

I've done many things and can do lots of things

A jack of all trades and master of none?

But just don't seem to blessed with that one special thing

i'm a woman, a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend

but those are all very general descriptions, aren't they

Way back when in school, band geek ( gee, did ya see that one coming)

Went to college, got a degree

Got out on my own, and got my first loan

I played soccer for three years in a recreational league

I've "tried" (and "tried" is the key word here)

snow skiing, and water skiing

Been snow mobileing, dog sledding and enjoy riding atv's

Have gotten to do some traveling and seen some cool things

I've been a sorority girl and a party girl

I've driven a race car ( yep, ya better believe it, got pictures to prove it)

I like to make my own jewelry and can weave a double sided Cherokee basket

I like to cook and bake ( I go cookie crazy during the holidays)

I like to read and listen to music and watch old movies

I like wine and rainy days and dogs

and hey, I can write hubs (quality is still a work in progress)

for that matter, I'm still a work in progress

I love to laugh and make people laugh

If I've made you laugh and smile, then happy days, my job here is done

But as you see, I still don't have an answer

to my life pondering question of

Who am I

For I am still searching

for that thing that makes me special

A gift or talent that I can say

Hey, this is what I'm best at

This is what i'm meant to be

Or will I have to wait

just like Grandma Moses

until I'm 93!!!
