The Angels whisper
and fear my new question
The demons bore me
I'm jaded and tired
I look at one leaf
to say you are beautiful
the rest of the tree
is nothing to my heart
I'm thankful for pain
it eats the good evil
I 'm king of my flesh
a servant to love
I conquer the Universe
in one blissful grin
I make war on truth
with soldiers of sin
I reach to the father
I cling to the mother
They spit a green ocean
I build my old ship
Death
I'll cast away self
We start a new world
She will bear all life
I will hold her hand
One
Again

Hi Tom:
An honest, simply expressed, poetic trip on a rough road:....."reality."
Qwark
I realize that this is a riddle...I figured out Cris A's but this one's a bit tougher as it's not completely consistent with my guess and I'll give you credit as being a bit more clever than to make any mistakes...In either case, I really liked this line:
I'm thankful for pain
it eats the good evil
Really good stuff, here. Nice oxymoron.
My guess is this, my friend, after reading this poem half a dozen times: You are the serpent from the Garden of Eden/The tree of Knowledge!
Nice stuff..good job
This is a wonderful poem. Good job putting this together and I can feel some sadness in it.
Tom,
I will not try to interpret your work I will enjoy the beauty in your expression. The meaning of your expression is a personal manifestation of feeling. It can have equally valid interpretations based on each reader's experiences.
Thanks for the thought provocation.
Thank you all so much for commenting. The being does have a name.
You are quite the wordsmith, my friend.
Wonders me???? tried to catch you with the photo you shared...small boy looking out a winter window to the future with so many questions yet...:O) Hugs
Thank you much Jess. :)
G-Ma....thanks much...the pic is our grandson, William. He was just bored that day. Hugs back! :)
Is this being related at all to the boy in the picture? He seems rather sad, or is that just my imagination?
This is so good, Tom. I really don't care what the "being" is, I had a great time reading it over and over. It reads really well out loud, and flows beautifully. Thanks for this.
What a wonderful photo then you have taken I Love it...so sweet...:O)
I'm disposing of the tendency to guess and have decided to wallow in the simple beauty of the poem instead. thanks for sharing! LYM - now more than ever! Ha! :D
G-ma...thanks...Tammy took the pic last winter...he is our little treasure. :)
Cris....thanks much....you do understand the love of words....LYM....more than more! :)
Tom, you so kill me when you go all softy. Beautifully written, Tom.
AIDY...thanks so much...I do go softy sometimes. :)
I am speechless. I will " " CrisA's comment on the poem and again, " " G-Ma's comment on the photo (I love it every time either of you post it). Love you lots, Tom!
Thanks so much Candie...it's my favorite pic of William...Love you lots back! :)

Nice. Makes me very sad, though.
