We're All In Different Places

Just Clare's take on all she's been able it make . . .

We've got to know we're all in a different place when it comes to our own acid and alkaline space. You must have the, "what's good for one may not be good for the other" take.

Very alkalized individuals can handle carbonic acids (starches that create glucose in the body like sweet potatoes, potatoes, rice, beans) a whole lot better than those more acid type individuals.

When I was in extreme pain (first I could eat nothing) but it was the alkalizing foods that reduced the pain quickly that saved me from being so sickly. It was about a year before I could handle a lot of condensed nutrient stuff like coconuts, nuts, seeds and then potatoes and kidney beans. Sometimes I will get a headache from sweet potatoes and sometimes not. I don't know because the last time they gave me a headache I suspect was from the suspected rancid olive oil (we're suppose to refrigerate all oils) kept in the house where I ate those sweet potatoes at. Mostly I never eat oil or high count of fats because, for me, fruits and greens are mostly where it's at. Besides, in my compared thirst for fruits, I hardly every keep sweet potatoes in the house with my other loot.

Rule of thumb that keeps me peaceful as a plumb: The more I can feel my body, the more alkaline foods I eat and the less I feel my body, the more acids I can eat. Now isn't that sweet? Why God made us frugivores when He had Adam and Eve meet.

Very Important Food Chart, but the concepts of what we should eat have fallen apart.

It is so weird for me how people exclude so much fruit from their diets. Well, never- mind, it's the toxins and high fats that keep them so blind.

Carrots look like the iris of the eyes

Quality carrots are very rich in the antioxidant beta carotene, the precursor to vitamin A, which makes them beneficial for the eyes and vision (carrots were used during wars to help aviators overcome night blindness). Science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

It's pH 4.55-6.10.

They also contain large amounts of silicon and thereby strengthen the connective tissues and aid calcium metabolism; as well, they contain an essential oil that kills parasites and unhealthy intestinal bacteria.

Their potassium salts account for the diuretic action, while at the same time carrot soup makes an effective remedy for diarrhea and easily digestible for those suffering from stomach and intestinal problems.

Carrot juice is a perennial favorite health drink and is excellent for liver rejuvenation and cleansing. The juice is more medicinal in action when taken on an empty stomach. Use in moderation, though, as carrot juice is a refined food. This surprises people, especially those who like to juice their own carrots. But consider how many corrots go into one glass of juice and how much pulp remains. Imagine cramming that many whole carrots into your stomach in the same amount of time it takes to drink their juice. While carrots don't raise blood sugar because their fiber slows digestion, carrot juice is a liquid form of simple sugars, and it does raise blood sugar. Therefore, when serving it to children, dilute it first; and the next time you drink it, notice the rush of energy it gives. Carrot juice may also be applied directly to burns to aid in their healing.

My personal experience with juicing too many carrots in combination with several other detrimental factors: There was a time in my life I juiced and juiced just carrots that finally caught up with me. Please, understand I had other detrimental factors in place that were attributing my body's way of waste. For two years I had a job that only allowed me to sleep about four hours a night before my awakening day of fright. I got very little exercise. I was hoping juicing a lot of carrots would carry me through. It was in 1997, my last year of a 20-year-habit of smoking cigarettes that probably caused the most of my plight in a very already backed up lymph system sight. What happened was my system finally fought back as I went into anaphylactic shock on two or three occasions; steering me for a much needed new life change in. Just a friendly little note that will keep you from that little sin.

Walnuts look like our brains

Walnuts have a part in developing more than three dozen neurotransmitters for brain function.

The pH is 5.42-5.5.

Black walnuts contain the essential arachidonic fatty acid associated with alleviating symptoms of bursitis and are a rich source of iodine and the trace mineral chromium. It is rich in tannin, a toning substance, it is also called an astringent. An excellent vermicide, sudorific, antiseptic, and febrifuge, the black walnut aids in regulating blood sugar levels and has been used for herpes, impetigo, athlete's foot, ringworm, and hemorrhoidal bleeding in the colon. Black walnut contains natural fluoride (without the side effects of the chemical fluoride used in our water supplies) and will remove plaque and restore tooth enamel if applied directly to the teeth. It has neither a strong taste nor a strong odor and is considered a mild enough herb to try for many disorders by those who are afraid of stronger herbs. For this reason it is very well tolerated by children. Pet owners love to use black walnut as a natural worming option (as well as papaya seeds grinded and put into capsules), and it is also used in heartworm programs for a safer approach to killing them than the drugs (or just using plain old preventions like keeping your animals off things like dairy, vinegars, chicken byproducts, all cooked foods and just feeding them all raw meat and bones with whatever raw whole things they like for not having to use black walnut for that fight).

When my dogs were raw vegan and not eating any meat or bones they went through a twenty-five pound bag of walnuts for just fifty dollars that lasted over a year. That savings makes me just want to holler!

Celery Stalks Look Like A Long Femur Bone

Our bones are made of organic sodium and celery also contains 23% organic sodium. Heated table salt is absolutely the wrong kind of sodium that is also detrimental for us because of the aluminum that collects in our systems from it (mainly the brain and probably the number one excuse for our Alzheimer's epidemic). Your body will take calcium from your bones if you don't eat enough organic sodium. Why we get things like arthritis and osteoporosis.

pH 5.37-6.00. Strongly alkaline, it counteracts acidosis, halts digestive fermentation of foods, purifies the bloodstream, aids digestion, and can help clear up skin problems. Stiffness, creaking, or cracking in the joints may indicate a lack of organic sodium and buildup of inorganic calcium deposits. Celery's rich organic sodium content dislodges these calcium deposits from joints and holds them in solution until they can be eliminated through the kidneys.

Celery also provides organic calcium and silicon for the repair of damaged ligaments and bones. It is rich in magnesium and iron, two minerals that nourish blood cells, cleanse and wash fatty deposits, and eliminate accumulated wastes. The greener stalks are an especially good source of vitamin A, which fights aging, and are excellent for people suffering from arthritis, neuritis, rheumatism, or high blood pressure. Celery may also promote the onset of menstruation; use it only in moderate amounts during pregnancy.

Clinical studies show celery significantly reduces blood pressure by relaxing the muscle tissue in artery walls and thus enhancing blood flow. Celery has coumarins (chemical compounds) useful in cancer prevention that enhance activity of certain white blood cells; these also tone the vascular system, lower blood pressure, and may be useful in treating migraines.

Grapes look like the alveoli of our lungs (also blood cells)

Grapes: H 2.80-3.82; raisins: pH 3.8-4.10

Don't give your dogs (especially those with a weak immune system) grapes or raisins as they can wreak havoc on their urinary tract systems (with an enzyme found in grapes and raisins that causes renal failure in dogs).

http://www.dogpack.com/health/GrapesRaisinsAndDogs.html

I literally made Gracie, my dog, sick and lethargic for an entire day with one handful of grapes and one handful of raisins. It scared us all to death! yikes!

Alveoli allow oxygen that it pass from the lungs at the blood stream. Premature babies struggle in survival as these alveoli do not begin to form until week 23 or 24 of pregnancy. A diet high in fresh fruit, such as grapes, has been shown to reduce the risk of lung cancer and emphysema. Grape seeds also contain a chemical called proanthocyanidin, which reduces the severity of asthma triggered by allergy. Grapes are called 'the queen of fruits' because of their excellent cleansing properties, and they rank among the most potent of all medicinal foods. Being a smoker of twenty years, I believe the healing properties of grapes will hopefully keep me from lung cancer or any other unknown health answers I may need. I've read Dr. Morse has has facilitated the healing of terminal cancers in others for thirty years with his herbs and grapes in a matter of so many days.

Among grapes most effective therapeutic applications are as a cure for constipation, gastritis, and chronic acidosis, common complaints for those who live on Western diets.

The black variety of grapes are by far the most potent, being excellent detoxifiers of the whole body but especially good for the digestive tract, liver, kidneys, and blood. Those following a diet solely of grapes for several days or weeks (known as the grape cure or ampelotherapy) will feel their powerful detoxifying and alkaliizing properties. Since eating grapes in quantity acts freely on the kidneys, this promotes the expulsion of poisons from the system. Grapes offer a natural combination of fruit acid, natural sugar, and various bitter-astringent properties that will help keep your cellular network cleansed. Grapes are also rich in malic acid, free acids, tannin, volatile acid, and an unusual water -- combined with nutrients and fermentable sugar -- that provides a superior energy source, improves elimination, and simply makes you feel good.

The best grapes are those that have seeds, for the outside of the seed contains tartaric acid (cream of tartar), which helps cut the mucus and catarrh of the body so they can be eliminated. The fruit's high water content adds to the fluids necessary to eliminate hardened deposits that may have settled in the body, their high iron content makes them good blood builders, and their magnesium promotes peristalsis, although the skins and seeds can sometimes be irritating to those with colitis or ulcers.

Recently, scientists have discovered that the ellagic acid found in grapes scavenges carcinogens as it moves through the body; they also have extraordinarily high levels of caffeic acid, which has been shown to be a strong, anticancer substance.

A study published in Science magazine found cancer-preventive properties in resveratrol, a phytochemical found in the skins and seeds of red and green grapes.

Another reason to eat this delicious fruit is for its high content of boron, a mineral that helps ward off osteoporosis. Grapes fight tooth decay and stop viruses in their tracks.

Raw grape juice is easily assimilated and called the 'nectar of the gods' and 'vegetarian milk' owing to its ability to sustain nursing infants deprived of mother's milk; it is a far superior option to pasteurized cow's milk. Combining grape juice equally with a nut milk quickly furnishes the system with new blood of the purest kind and is an excellent remedy for anemia. A study conducted at the University of Wisconsin showed that two cups of grape juice a day can reduce platelet aggregation, a risk factor for heart disease.

Grape seed extract is very similar to pine bark extract as it contains a unique type of bioflavonoid called proanthocyanidins, which are synergistic with viamin C -- that is, they greatly enhance the activity of vitamin C. In fact, some researchers believe that grape seed extract helps vitamin C enter cells, thus strengthening the cell membranes and protecting the cells from oxidative damage. In 1970 a biochemist in France isolated from grape seed a material that improves blood circulation -- oligomeric proanthocyandin (OPC). It also reduces swelling and may even prevent heart disease. OPC is one of the substances in red grape juice that has been shown to have some protective properties against heart disease. Because of their OPCs, grapes are now harvested not only for the food and drink products we are familiar with but also as a source of these therapeutically active ingredients. First and foremost, OPCs are antioxidants, which help the body to handle assaults, such as cigarette smoke and environmental chemicals, that could eventually cause disease. They are different from a broader category of stress protectors called adaptogens, which also protect you from chemical or physical substances. Both antioxidants and adaptogens protect you from physical and mental exhaustion and help you recover after an illness. They may help us avoid at least two of the big killers today: cardiovascular disease and cancer.

Raisins have less acid than grapes since the acid has been dried out of them. They have almost as much iron by weight as cooked dried beans or ground beef. Most raisins have been dried naturally in the sun, but some have been treated with sulfur or other preservatives to retain their color and moistness (a good reason for buying organic and unsulfured raisins).

Sweet potatoes look like a pancreas

They say, sweet Potatoes can actually help balance the glycemic index of diabetics, but it's the fruits that will heal them the best (on a very low fat diet and close watch on the blood sugars).

Do you have a youngster that is anemic (nutrients behave differently in an acid environment), gets very tired and takes long naps, has tantrums for no apparent reason, gasps for water, is very thin and frail? Something is wreaking havoc on their metabolisms trail. The lack of natural enzymes in homogenized dairy cause a pancreas to work very hard and to the point of exhaustion providing you with enzymes that were meant to last you a lifetime.

Choose sweet potatoes that are firm and relatively unblemished, without soft or moldy ends. Buy organic whenever possible, because sweet potatoes tend to pick up a musty taste from soil that has been treated with pesticides. They should be kept in a cool, dry place, where they will keep for a month or longer; at normal room temperatures they should be used within a week.

Cooking in their edible skins conserve nutrients. Cooked and mashed sweet potatoes can replace up to one-quarter of the wheat flour in breads and are excellent in other baked goods such as cakes, cookies, muffins, or pies, where their flavor is enhanced by sprinkling of sweet spice such as cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves, or all spice.

pH 5.3-5.6. So nutritious that people can live on them (and have), the sweet potato is easily digestible and good for the eliminative system, ulcers, inflamed colons, and poor blood circulation. Sweet potatoes show strong antioxidant properties; the darker the orange of the flesh, the greater the concentration of beta carotene. When raw, they are very alkaline for the system; cooking affects these tubers in the same way as regular potatoes, making them much more acidic. They are also beneficial for detoxifying the system, since they contain substances called phytochelatins that can bind heavy metals like cadmium, copper, mercury, and lead. If a child accidentally swallows a metallic object such as a coin, feed him plenty of sweet potato; the sweet potato will stick to the object and allow it to pass through easier.

Shredded sweet potato salad with fresh pineapple, apples and raisins is very fun to eat.

Shredded sweet potato was one of the very few raw foods that my dog Shelby would eat that had been a traditionally cooked dog food eater for ten years. The problem with a dog eating traditionally cooked dog food for that long is a very weakened immune system. On top of that she had liver disease and every time we tried to switch her to a raw food diet, she drew near collapse. I had to compromise with half cooked and half raw and give her prednisone that eventually destroyed her adrenal glands just to give her a couple more quality years. She was a stubborn little thing and was hesitant to eat most any raw thing I would bring her. It's a very hard thing getting a dog out of ways they have already been trained. Start them on all raw as puppies is the most humane thing.  If you would like some recipes for sustaining a puppy vegetarian and even healing ear infections from state required vaccinations, let me know and I'll write you a hub telling it so.

Onions look like our blood cells

Onions are very rich in chromium, a trace mineral that helps cells respond to insulin, plus vitamin C, and numerous flavonoids, most notably, quercitin.

Quercitin, an antioxidant in onions, and curcumin, a phytonutrient found in the curry spice turmeric, reduce both the size and number of precancerous lesions in the human intestinal tract, suggests research published in Clinical Gasteroenterology and Hepatology

The higher the intake of onion, the lower the level of glucose found during oral or intravenous glucose tolerance tests. Experimental and clinical evidence suggests that allyl propyl disulfide is responsible for this effect and lowers blood sugar levels by increasing the amount of free insulin available.

Clinical studies of diabetics have shown that chromium can decrease fasting blood glucose levels, improve glucose tolerance, lower insulin levels, and decrease total cholesterol and triglyceride levels, while increasing good HDL-cholesterol levels. Marginal chromium deficiency is common in the United States, not surprising since chromium levels are depleted by the consumption refined sugars and white flour products as well as the lack of exercise. One cup of raw onion contains over 20% of the Daily Value for this important trace mineral.

Onions may be especially beneficial for women, who are at increased risk for osteoporosis as they go through menopause. Fosamax (Alendronate), the drug typically prescribed to prevent excessive bone loss, works in a similar manner, by destroying osteoclasts, so they do not break down bone. Potential negative side effects of Fosamax include irritation of the upper gastrointestinal mucosa, acid regurgitation, esophageal ulcers and erosions. Potential negative side effects of eating onions: onion breath.

The above are just a few wonderful facts on onions found at this link:

I just love the Health Benefits sections of my Whole Foods Companion and you will see why when you see what it says about onions:

pH 5.30-5.85. Anthelmintic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, detoxicant, diuretic, expectorant, stimulant, stomachic, tonic. Folklore about the curative powers of this versatile vegetable is plentiful, including claims that you can soothe the pain of a toothache with a raw onion or stifle a cough with a sweetened brew of simmered onions. Onions are similar to their cousin garlic in medicinal factors; it is used as a diuretic, infection fighter and antibiotic, blood pressure regulator, expectorant, heart tonic (reducing the heart rate), contraceptive, and aphrodisiac. Both onion and garlic contain allyl disulfate, a natural antiseptic oil, and cvycloallin, an anticoagulant that helps to dissolve clots that form on the walls of blood vessels. Historically used for asthma, onions relax the bronchial muscle and also inhibit the production of compounds that cause the bronchial muscle to spasm. Onion is excellent for bee stings, as it will suck the pain right out. It also works wonders on sprains and bad bumps. Secure onion slices on an injured site with a bandage and by morning it will be better except where the onion didn't actually touch the skin. The person may smell strongly for the night, but the method works. Onions are rich sources of the potent anticancer bioflavonoid quercetin, which is not destroyed by cooking. The sulfur compounds in onions help to end putrefactive and fermentation processes in the gastrointestinal tract, remove heavy metals and parasites, retard the retention of fluids, and cleanse the system of urea and sodium. Eaten raw, they promote transpiration and cleanse the pores as effectively as a good sauna bath. Half a raw onion a day has been shown in studies to give a 30 percent boost of beneficial HDL blood cholesterol. Chewing raw onions for five minutes kills all the germs in your mouth, making it sterile; this could be a beneficial practice the next time you get a cold. According to researchers in the United States and India, onions also kill the germs that cause tooth decay. Because their action is stimulating and hot if taken internally, onions are not recommended for those practicing celibacy.

We eat a lot of onion. Several times a week I make a relish with onion that is fast and easy. One variation of this relish most people would refer to as pico de gallo, but it can vary with your other favorite vegetables. No fruits in this please, they cause heartburn eaten with onion. We call it the wet part of our salad and store it separately from the dry salad that keeps them both fresher all week. We bring the wet and dry salad together with some avocado and sunflower seed dressing for a very satisfying meal. Some added crunchy flax crackers make a meal like this heaven on earth!

First I take a big handful of greens like cilantro, parsley, spinach, kelp or your favorite greens and process it with 1-2 jalapeno peppers (optional) until very fine. Then I proceed to fill up my food processor with two purple onions, some tomatoes, bell pepper, a couple dates, juice of one lemon, celery, cucumber or whatever variation of vegetables we like. I pulse it slowly until the perfect consistency of chunks (I like my chunks very fine as the flavors seem more blended).

You may add 1/2 to 1 tsp of sun-dried salt to the mix or leave it out and salt to taste for less salt in your diet. Salt can make a person very thirsty and a lot of RO or distilled waters (they are acid) can put a person on the acid side of the fence unless you're buying those very expensive bottled waters known for their alkalinity, of course. I don't ever let the acid water stop me from drinking anywhere from 4-8 cups a day of water with all the fruit I eat because dehydration causes very bad headaches and terrible muscle cramps in me personally..
