Who’s been holding out on leaner legs?
I am always reading and trying to learn great fitness tips and how to burn fat and lose weight in less time. I don’t mind the work. It’s the time that defeats my workouts. I teach full time, I tutor before school and I tutor after school.
I get up and do my sets of push ups and sets of stomach exercises. I mix in some squats throughout the week. I try to walk when I can and get in some swimming at a local club that I belong to. Still, I know I need to do more. I am back to the time issue.
I am also concerned about health. Cartilage can wear thin over time without muscle tone. Muscle tone offers that extra padding that protects the knees. Strong quadriceps preserve cartilage most especially behind the vulnerable kneecap. Strong thighs help to keep the knees and kneecaps from abnormal movement or grinding. Even if you consider yourself somewhat fit, you are still vulnerable.
Then I learned about getting leaner legs with an exercise routine called plyrometrics. The claim is that it helps to melt fat by building lean muscle. Doing plyrokmetrics enables the body to burn more calories not only while you are working out but after as well. The exercises help to lift the legs and literally shed fat. The routine will create an effect as if the muscle fiber is shedding tears. It creates an after burn, which sppeds up the process of getting toned and becoming conditioned.
The process happens by fatiguing the muscles, which is necessary for toning and shedding fat. No weights or extra reps are needed. You maximize effort with less energy and time.
Plyometric squats are accomplished by standing with your feet parallel with your shoulders. Squat down until both of the knees are at a 90 degree angle. Now leap up toward the right. The goal is to jump as high as possible and to land as soft as possible. Quickly squat again and this time jump to the left. Repeat 8 to 10 times. Eventually work your way up to 20 or a few more. If you push off your toes, the workout will be increasingly effective.
This can also be accomplised with plyometric push ups. Watch the following video to understand how to have a more effective workout.

This looks to be good advice. Nice legs are a great attribute for a woman. Thanks for sharing a new way to get them and maintain them.

Jaspal - good point - I usually always mention that one should seek advice from their physician before proceeding with any exercise. The squash and racquetball do sound like a lot more fun. Wish I had the time to do that frequently.
