Suffering Wickeness and Evil
68WE ALLOW EVIL.
Why does God "allow evil"?
This is a question that many use in order to keep they're distance from The Almighty and make an excuse to blame Him for all things evil. Trying to comprehend the One who cannot be fathomed. Others sincerely do not understand evil. In either case, it is us that would rather question and blame someone else for sure. Anything but look deep into our own soul before we ask questions of others, be they GOD or man.
I am reminded that "we chose to know good and evil"...we make a choice to know some thing and then stand around a scratch our wooden heads and question someone else about it? This sounds about right, knowing the human condition. That would be like me saying "I chose my wife and she chose me, so why did YOU allow it GOD"? We also like to ask, "why have YOU made me this way"?
Me thinks I must ask the question "why do WE allow evil? Why do YOU? Why do I? Why do our friends, neighbors and associates, business or personal"? I have tried that and most people just hang they're heads and wonder, others defend themselves to no end.
"If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door; its desire is for (to dominate) you, but you must master it." or "You will be accepted if you respond in the right way. But if you refuse to respond correctly, then watch out! Sin is waiting to attack and destroy you, and you must subdue it."
It is very clear that it is us that must do the right thing, it is only after we refuse to do so that evil lies at our door and desires to destroy us. We are told that WE must master it, not someone else and certainly not GOD...He already has total mastery over all of it. The last thing we want to hear is "YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT...YOU...YOU...YOU!!!...YOU DO IT".
"Doing what is right is usually the default of your conscience, doing what is evil, requires a lot of thought" (My own quote)
When we see or hear evil, we must not stand there and complain about it, instead we must crush and destroy it without fear. Evil should fear us.
Do you or I do all that we can to stop evil from prevailing in our lives or in the things we witness from day to day? Do we confront evil, wrongdoing and injustice when we see it or hear about it? Are we willing to do the right thing and face evil at the moment, standing up to it? Do we just make excuses and shrug our little shoulders and say "what can I do about it, it's not my business"? Then turn around and question God about evil? He may ask you "why did you not do something about what you just saw or heard"? I will even help you. Then I might answer your question.
Evil prevails because we allow it!!! Perhaps if we did more to conquer evil, God would step in and help us in ways that we cannot comprehend. After all, we learn in life that those who have power and authority are often willing to help us who do not have it, just as soon as they see a "grass roots movement"...then they can step in and offer the movement the help it needs to uphold the righteous cause it has undertaken. Even our children understand this concept and I think better than us all. When they are in a struggle with something evil, they run to us and tell us what they are doing about it and ask for our help, they do not say "why are you allowing this to happen dad / mom"?
What do we do when our son comes in the door and exclaims to us "I saw Laura being bullied by a couple of boys for her lunch money today"!!!...Is this not the first question we ask "and what did you do Stephen"?...The child does not ask US "why did you allow that to happen dad"? If they did, we would exclaim "what do I have to do with it"?...Again, "what did you do about it Stephen"?...The boy replies "well, I watched to my horror and felt sorry for Laura as they just pushed her and slapped her and pulled her purse away, I could not believe it dad"!!!
I think we get the point do we not? We would instantly hold the boy accountable for his "lack of actions" and instruct him to find those bullies and let them know that he is going to find Laura and both of them are going to tell the authorities what happened. That if it happens again, you are going to step in and defend her no matter what!!! That you both will not tolerate this again!!!
Without the struggles of overcoming evil, we would all be pathetically weak and remain unproven, never knowing strength or courage, none of us would be sharpened. Just sit around and take it easy for long enough and you soon become fat, weak, bored and useless.
Jhn 6:68 Simon Peter replied, "Lord, to whom would we go? You alone have the words that give eternal life. Jhn 6:69 We believe them, and we know you are the Holy One of God." Jhn 6:70 Then Jesus said, "I chose the twelve of you, but one is a devil." Jhn 6:71 He was speaking of Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, one of the Twelve, who would betray him.
WHAT??? HE CHOSE A DEVIL??? SAY WHAT??? WHAT KIND OF A .............would do that???
- WOW...how that is just way to heavy to comprehend for some!!! He says this right after HE was just proclaimed to be "THE HOLY ONE OF GOD?" THE MESSIAH chooses a disciple who is a devil? It's not like Messiah just figures this out right here either. (Not to me it does not seem to be the case anyhow.) What purpose would Messiah have in picking a devil to be among HIS group of students? To have someone pilfer the treasure box? What kind of a Teacher does this apparent madness? Or did HE not have a greater understanding of The Satan (The adversary / The accuser), of devils and of evil? It's real simple to me. Everyone has a purpose and GOD is in control of purposes, places and things. And if you need a jack ass to tell you that your going the wrong way, it just might be the drunk on the corner who says that to you, even if you are a prophet!!!
- Nothing goes unnoticed by HIM and HIS ALL SEEING EYE. HE is the Master Chess player. "He don't sweat no devil." We on the other hand tend to get our panties all in a bunch about it all instead of TAKING AUTHORITY OVER IT BY TOTAL FORCE, THE POWER OF GOD AT WORK IN US TO OVERCOME EVIL!!!
As the scripture says:
2Cr 10:3 We are human, but we don't wage war with human plans and methods. 2Cr 10:4 We use God's mighty weapons, not mere worldly weapons, to knock down the Devil's strongholds. 2Cr 10:5 With these weapons we break down every proud argument that keeps people from knowing God. With these weapons we conquer their rebellious ideas, and we teach them to obey Christ. 2Cr 10:6 And we will punish those who remained disobedient after the rest of you became loyal and obedient. 2Cr 10:7 The trouble with you is that you make your decisions on the basis of appearance. You must recognize that we belong to Christ just as much as those who proudly declare that they belong to Christ. 2Cr 10:8 I may seem to be boasting too much about the authority given to us by the Lord. But this authority is to build you up, not to tear you down. And I will not be put to shame by having my work among you destroyed. 2Cr 10:9 Now this is not just an attempt to frighten you by my letters.
- RESIST EVIL AND IT WILL RUN FROM YOU, IT IS AFRAID OF GOOD, DO NOT FEAR IT, instead SUBDUE IT, CONQUER IT, DESTROY IT. Have any of you not been made better when you practiced this principle? Did you yourself not stand tall after doing so? Did people not think more highly of you for doing so?...Unless they are evil. Plenty of those around today, they despise good.
Do we not give our children the option to chose good or evil? Of course we do, only a fool would not. Find an teenager or adult who was not allowed to make those choices and was sheltered from all evil and you will have found a truly weak person. You would not want them to work for you or with you now would you?
The reason we have so much more evil, wrong doing and injustice in our beloved country now a days is because WE stand around and permit it. If WE where to police ourselves then the police would have to cut back it's force, not keep hiring and us keep paying for it all. The Government would be smaller, taxes would go down and evil doers would be put on notice.
Listen, if evil doers knew that they're were 397 citizens in the neighborhood ready and willing confront them in an instant or just knew that 2 cops drove by 3 times a day, what do you think they would do with that knowledge? If thieves knew we'd confront them and arrest them ourselves, do you not think they would get a job instead? We have all seen the videos where 2 men beat, rape and rob someone while 27 people stood and watched and our stomach turned sour and we were outraged, shaking our fist at the TV...knowing what should have been done without a 2nd thought being given to it.
WE are all guilty of doing this sort of thing are we not? We know we can overcome evil with good if we just act on the concept instead of stand there and complain.
Let us all turn from our wicked ways and do the right thing and our land will be healed.

This is actually exactly right. I'm glad you hooked me up with a link. Yes, people need to stop worrying about fixing others and start worrying about trying to root the evil out of themselves. You can't control others, but you can control your own actions. God was lovely enough to give us this wonderful gift of choice. If only everyone could be lovely enough to appreciate it and try to choose good.
Wonderful essay!
