Why Did President Barack Obama Want to Take On the Toughest Job in America

Why did President Barack Obama want to become President of the United States of America?  The answer may surprise and even amaze you.  The most obvious reason that comes to mind is personal ambition to gain the highest office in the nation.  Maybe he wanted to prove to himself that he was up for the challenge of the toughest job in America.  Maybe President Barack Obama wanted to become President of the United States to prove his intelligence at taking on world issues. Contrary to these ideas an explanation through written communication is given as a beginning to understanding why President Barack Obama ran for the Presidency.

In a honest letter to his two daughters Malia, 10 and Sasha, 7 he told them why he took on the job of running for the President of the United States. He sacrificed being away from his family for two years while on the campaign trail.  In the beginning of the letter, President Barack Obama quite frankly states that he is a man of great ambition and of striving to do and to be the best that he can be.  Then as he writes to his daugthers and remembers the long, lonely plane rides and the emptiness of the many hotel rooms he inhabited, President Barack Obama lets the truth come out in the most poignant letter to his daughters.  While on the campaign trail, Charles Gibson, an ABC news anchorman, asked President Barack Obama, what did he missed the most while campaigning hard for the Presidency.  President Obama's immediate reply was his family.  He looked Charles Gibson honestly in the eyes and said that he missed his girls jumping in the bed with Michelle and him while the family had breakfast of waffles.

But why did a man with so much to offer a law practice or a university professorship choose to run for the President of the United States of America? His talk of his love for Malia and Sasha and their future in education and the health system of sustainability is stated in the letter as the main reason that President Barack Obama ran for the President of the United States of America.  It may sounds a little sheepish or family oriented jargon to bring him down to earth from visiting all of the United States campaigning for public office, but this is what he writes to his daughters.  This letter of love from President Barack Obama  explains to his girls why he took his family on the journey to the  Presidency.

President Barack Obama explains that he ran for President because after the birth of his daughters  the big plans that he had for himself was no longer important.  He said that the he experienced the greatest joy when Malia and Sasha experienced joy and happiness.  President Barack Obama wanted to keep his girls happy and content with the knowledge that their future will be filled with opportunity for fulfilment of their wishes and dreams.  President Obama states in the letter that he not only wants the opportunity for joy and happiness for just his two girls but for every  child in the nation.  As if writing one of his eloquent speeches, he wrote that he wanted every child in the nation to go to schools worthy of their potential of what they were able to acomplish with good hard work.

President Barack Obama wrote that he ran for the Presidency of the United States of America because he wanted to make sure that schools challenged American children to do their best work and instill in them a sense of curiosity that spurs learning.  President Obama expressed a deep concern of availing colleges not only to the well-to-do but the needy families as well.  He also said in his selfless manner, that he wanted his girls as welll as the youth in America to secure good paying jobs with benefits of health care and that the end of their careers are met with a retirement of dignity.

President Obama stated that he ran for the highest office in the country because from that base, he could push the boundaries of discoveries and open the country's access to new technologies and inventions for the improvement of the planet and for a cleaner and safer environment.  He stated that he wanted his girls to see the best in the people they meet, in each other and to increase boundaries that reach beyond race, religion and gender.

This letter to his daughters from President Barack Obama sounds political in nature, but he wanted his children to understand all of the ramsification of his reason for running for the President of the United States of America.  Though Malia and Sasha is only 10 and 7, maybe he wrote the letter so the printed word could be read as they matured into understanding why their father chose to run for the Presidency.

Toward the middle of his letter to his daughters, President Barack Obama also mentioned that the men and women who were sent off to war were detached there for a very good reason.  President Obama stated that these servicemen and women were there to settle differences peacefully with bravery as a citizen of the great country we call America.  He stated that to be a citizen of the United States of America carries wtih it great responsibility.  In tune with the patriotism of this part of the letter, President Barack Obama said that his Grandmoter TuTu taught him the great responsibility of being an American citizen by reading to him the Declaration of Independence and telling him about the men and women who marched for equality.  President Barack Obama wrote to his girls that his grandmother let him know the meaning of the two words, declaration and independence.  He also wrote that his grandmother told him that America was not great because it was perfect but because America could be made better.  HIs grandmother wisely told him that the unfinished work of perfecting America is the responsibility of each and every American.  And as if getting back to writing to his daugthers and from the memory of his grandmother who passed away two days before he won the Presidency with acceptance in Grant Park, Chicago, President Barack Obama stated that the responsiblity of making America better is passed on from generation to generation. The dedication to make America better rests on the  capabilities of the American people.

Toward the end of the letter of his daughters, President Barack Obama told of his hopes and dreams for his daughters.  He said that he hoped the both of them would work to right wrongs and work to gives others the opportunities they have experienced.  President Obama said they should not feel obligated to give back, though they should, but that they have an obligation to themselves to honor a country that has done so much of their family.  "Because it is only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than ourself that you will realize your true potential."

President Barack Obama ends the letter to his daughers explaining why he ran for the Presidency with repeating that he wants every child to have the same chances to learn, to dream and to thrive as his girls have.  President Barack Obama writes, "That's why I've taken our family on this great adventure."  President Barack Obama expressed his love for Malia and Sasha and applauded their gratefulness, patience, poise, and humor as the family begins their new life together in the White House.  This  letter of love and explanation from President Barack Obama to his daughters is why he ran for President of the United States of America.  The letter that Barack Obama wrote was simply signed, Love, Dad.

So giving almost a trillion dollars to banks, insurance companies and the big three auto makers is fullfilling his promise of education worthy of potential? This president is failing in his alleged objectives but he is succeeding in charming idealist liberals with the same lure that has charmed them for decades..."talk" about change. Face it, we will just have more taxes to pay and the same enemies at the end of the day. The most oppressive force in the United States are the liberals and their system of entitilements. This country was founded on the principal of hard work and that is the only way the concept of America can work...every able bodied American has to get off their a$$es and work, hard! Say what you will but this one factor would have the the most measurable result in our country. KUMBAYA!

elb22, thank you for the comment. It sounds like you want Obama to give you a bailout as the banks and the automakers. Unemployment is almost up to 10 per cent and the stimulus package promised 3.5 million jobs.

They didn't promise when those jobs would be created

America was built on a combination of cheap or slave labor at the beginning. It didn't have to be but you can't change history. You can only change the future. That is what has been happening with civil rights up until 911.If you believe in karma -what goes around comes around then surely the liberal agenda is a direct result of the extreme conservitive agenda where people don't make enough to pay for what the extremne conservitives want us to pay for like healthcare.Balance is the key.Employers deserve there fair share of income as they have the burden of paying a fair wage.Only Rich and poor classes are not acceptable,a viable middle class is.Dictators are not allowed for any length of time.
