Why Most Women Fail at Dieting

My wife has started another diet. I know this because of all the so-called Weight Watchers products around the house and her mouse like consumption of these products. Of course I have no doubt that this diet, like all the other previous before it will fail. No I am not a pessimist, well maybe a little, but I consider myself more of a realist. You see women almost always focus on the food aspect of the dieting or losing weight. They obsessive over what hey will have to give up in the way of comfort foods. No candy, no cake, no bread, you know the routine. However in the scheme of the 80/20 rule, when it comes to dieting, food is definitely the 80. In other words it has very little to do with the amount of weight lost. I know this goes against convention, however, it is very simple. Most of the money made in the so called dieting industry is made from selling food and food supplements. The whole things, hook if you will, is to allow people to continue to eat whatever and think they will lose weight, actually fat is a more appropriate description.

This plays well with the mental attitude that most people have, so lots of money is made and for the most part everybody is happy,. Even the person that does not lose the weight they intended. I am remind of an old Bible verse, where people tend to want to make sacrifices rather then be obedient or in this case active. You see what really determines weight loss and good health in general is activity, exercise, the expenditure of calories, work, to put it in simple terms. The one thing the most people these days, tend to try and avoid. So if you can promise that they can lose weight by making a small sacrifice of money or of eating some strange combination of foods and or beverages that will shock and force body to temporarily drop pounds and fluid. Then you have a great chance of making a great deal of money. Of course gym memberships are pretty popular, but they tend to wane pretty quickly if the workout is to serious, ironically enough, most avoids gyms, because they do not want others to know that they think they need to work out. Then you have people who probably do not need to be in a gym, send countless hours there, because it makes them feel superior. People are really strange.

Back to my wife and most overweight people in general, they do not lose weight on these so call diets, because they 1.) spend too much time worrying about being on a diet, triggering stress induced hunger cravings. 2. think they can substitute the so called diet food in place of their regular comfort food, the person who drinks a two liter diet soda, because it a diet soda, that one always cracks me up. And 3.) the most important one of all the 20 in the 80/20 mix. They do absolutely nothing to increase their levels of activity and in many case become even more inactive.

It boils down to finding activities outside of your normal routine to crate a greater need for fuel (fat) consumption.
