We have a 24 hour cable news station that is seen across the country and internationally that many people do not recognize. The question is, why not? I have heard people say that FOX has an agenda, really. They present news backed up by facts such as in the Van Jones story. Many of these individuals against FOX say you can’t call what “that station” calls facts. There just may be a problem with their statement on this situation. The words that incriminated Mr. Jones came from his own mouth, and captured on you tubehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTXOzAAqnho&feature=PlayList&p=246AD5F290014AAD&index=0&playnext=1 Can a man deny his own words? Yet FOX is blamed for an erroneous report.
Is FOX news lying to you about what Van Jones said; I don’t think so. You did hear the words Mr. Jones himself spoke, didn’t you? Why didn’t other major media outlets show this tape as soon as they saw it? Hmm, that’s a very good question if I don’t say so myself. Usually when a station runs an important story, all other media picks it up. This doesn’t seem to be happening when FOX runs a story first. Are the others being silenced by a higher power, do they think the stories FOX shows are unimportant, do others look down at FOX? If you check the ratings that all stations use, and charge their advertisers by the public says this I not a good thing. Why Do More People Watch Fox News?
This is really easy to answer, because they get the real story. In some cases, they just get the story as reported on all stations. After all, a good story is a good story. Still there are good stories so called profession journalists will not or are not allowed to cover. That is the simple reason why more people watch FOX News Channel than any other cable news channel. It isn’t even close when you see that FOX beats all other cable news stations combined. When the O’Reilly Factor re-runs after prime time has more viewers than any cable news program, it says a lot.
These FOX People Aren’t Really Journalists!
This may be the biggest argument for not watching FOX. Here is the problem with that statement. Why would stations like CNN hire an on air personality like Kiren Chetry.Ms.Chetryis now one of CNN’s most popular anchors.
It goes the other way also. Bill O’Reilly was a much respected reporter at ABC, why do people that respected his work in the past, say he isn’t credible now?
Greta Van Susteran was also a well respected lawyer, law professor and TV analyst for ABC. She is best known for her work on the O.J Simpson trial.
Why is she hated by those that do not watch FOX?
This one tops them all, Britt Hume. For many years we watched him cover the White House for ABC. Mr. Hume has always been well respected in all circles, until he moved to FOX.
This man was once beloved by all, now the FOX haters want to vilify him.
Bernard Goldberg worked for CBS and NBC for decades. He sat-in for many of the top anchors in the past but the past, and the respect are gone. This happened when he moved to FOX. I guess it’s hate one, hate them all. It must be the same for respect.
These must all be very dangerous people according to the FOX haters. Aren’t YOU scared?
Prime Time
7 P.M. CST. – Bill O’Reilly
Many complain that FOX News is way too conservative, that is said by people that do not watch the station. Like David Letterman said to Bill O’Reilly on “The Late Show.”
Bill: Do you watch my show?
David: No!
Bill: Then how do you know anything about it?
David: Everyone knows what you say, people tell me.
Playing telephone like kids do is now the accepted means for supposedly educated people. That was the last time I watched Letterman, before he did the preceding and called O’Reilly a pin-head for his views, I was a regular Letterman watcher. The Haters call O’Reilly a conservative, actually he is a centrist. The left has gone further left, changing the definition.
8 P.M. CST. - Sean Hannity
As he himself admits, he is a conservative. Like Van Jones, he tells you straight forward who he is. It’s easy to understand why people on the left do not like him.
9 PM. CST. – Greta Van Susteran
Greta is actually a liberal and with her you now have a very balanced Prime Time schedule. All shows have guests representing differing opinions of an issue. It seems the left does not like the right represented. Why not watch and see for yourself?
I must mention Glenn Beck, who now has millions of viewers.
I can understand why many people would not care for his personality but what about the facts presents? Every day I watch him I learn something. His presentation of the facts may be a little different but his facts are ones you can believe, unless you decide not to believe him from the start.
Will The Government Try To Shut Down FOX NEWS?
President Obama, who says his administration will be transparent, is NOT living up to his statement. Call that what you may, but that makes me believe he will try to shut FOX down. The President does not like opposing views and FOX will always challenge what they think is wrong.

I saw conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on CSPAN2 over the weekend. He gave the best explanation of liberals I have ever seen. He says they are like fish. He said a fish doesn't realize it's all wet.

Hi Harvey. Up until about Clinton's second term, I really wasn't that interested in politics. I voted for Bill the first time because I was a democrat at that time. Why? Because my mom was a democrat of course. It was about this time that I started watching and listening more to the political scene. Fox News, Clinton's actions and the party and administration's policies helped me make the transition to the Republican party. I voted for W in his first bid. My awareness has increased dramatically over the last few years and I consider myself to be fair and balanced. I voted for W the 2nd time too-but not because I was blindly following my party. I thought he was the lesser of two evils pure and simple. As for Obama, I of course voted for McCain-again not because I was 100% for the Republicans, but felt he had more integrity and experience. I held out little hope that Obama would be all he said he would be. I depend on Fox to tell me the truth and they deliver every time. They were critical of alot of things Bush did and said as well. I believe in their integrity and their fairness. I hope they never loose sight of it.
It absolutely cracks me up when I hear anyone vilify Fox News or the personalities on it. My question usually is, "Well - how often do you watch Fox News and those people you believe should be "shot for treason?" That is HONESTLY what one lib said to me over the phone. The answer invariably is they don't watch it - they just know! There's another definition of liberals - lemmings...they just follow what they see or in this case, hear. Great hub!

Know one can justify a vote because the bill hasn't been finished. When has Congress voted this way before?
Fair and balance? I watched Fox and their various programs. I must say your standards are low. I remember watching them when they were debating the "You Lie!" line. Fox gave a white Republican full time to say their thoughts in full, but when a black Democrat started to speak, he was cut off. Is this how Fair and balance works?

That station couldn't find any one from the Wisconsin Republican party to talk against Obama health care bill, so they got some unknown from Florida.
I must say that Beck is one of Fox bigest lier, especially with flu shots. It's on TV everywhere with Bill O'rierly (Sp).

I am also an ex-Democrat who supported W but vocally got pissed off at some of the crap he pulled like backing the first stimulus(ear-mark) package. Why don't these people who voted for Obama do the same? Because they're intellectually dishonest. Fox news is all about "fair and balanced" Hannity is a Reagan conservative, but Van Susteren supported Hillary. The last I heard, Hillary was not a Republican.

Harvey I know why they hate Fox, it's because they won't promote Obama's agenda. I wrote about MSNBC and why they are favored, seems money talks.
Harvey, I didn't see the "You lie" interview the other hubber was talking about, but did catch another interview with a Republican and Democrat. I was shocked. The Republican was asked her questions first, took all the time she needed to answer, with a very pleasant exchange between her and the interviewer. And then...he turned to the Democrat. He would ask her a question and before she barely got two words out of her mouth he would rudely interrupt her. He never let her complete a whole sentence. He ended up getting a bit loud and hostile with "it's a simple question, yes or no?", but then still didn't let her finish a sentence. The difference in the time of the interview and the treatment between these two women absolutely floored me, and I remember thinking that if I were a Democrat, I wouldn't under any circumstance be interviewed by anyone on Fox, and then wondering, had this Democrat not SEEN Fox news before she agreed to this interview? From what I've seen, I do have to say I can't blame a Democrat for not watching Fox.
Then the other night on Fox, I saw an analyst explain to all the conservatives that the unemployment rate going up in various states proved that Obama's incentive did not create or save the jobs they claimed. I thought, not much of an analyst here. It does in fact prove the economy is getting worse (something we all know), but in fact does not prove that the jobs claimed weren't created by the stimulus. He then fixated on one l5 million dollar project that had created three jobs (5 million a job, he laughed). He got a kick out of this and chuckled quite a bit, as he dwelled on it. It was easy for me to see that that project was obviously one of the pet projects put into the stimulus bill, but whether it was a Republican pet project or Democrat pet project we don't know, because he didn't tell this.
By the way, one of my gripes with Obama was that the stimulus bill went out with all the pet projects in it, as he promised to stop this kind of behavior. He could have, in fact, vetoed that bill and sent it back, requring them to take out the pet projects. But to my disappointment he didn't. Sorry this comment was so long!

Since you didn't reference the individuals by name, I can't say much. I have a feeling you may be talking about Beck and O'Reilly. I believe they sometimes don't let people talk enough. Bill always likes to control a conversation, but sometimes I appreciate it. Like when someone is going off on a tangent or plail lying.
I've seen this for many years with moderators taking either side. This is difficult to answer because I only have your words to go by, not that I don't believe you.
I didn't give the name because I wasn't certain of it. It was an evening show and I believe his name was Hannity, or something like that (dark headed and fortiesh). It wasn't O'Reilly or Beck. I do know them well. The analyst was on another evening show with an attractive, blond-headed young woman hosting the show.

The only woman host at night is Great Van Sustren, she is a liberal. Sean Hannity says up front that he is a conservative.
It does happen on all stations. What matters is the questions they ask and the investigating they do. Be well.
The questions they ask are very important. However, you'd also like to hear the answers to those questions, from both sides. Otherwise, what was the point of doing the interview at all?

I am going to try to answer respectfully. I will start by giving you some info on FOX. More people watch cable news on FOX than CNN, MSNBC and all other cable stations combined. The day the terrorist attack took place at Ft. Hood, 5 million people watched Bill O'Reilly. That one hour show beating all other stations by itself.
FOX ratings go up every time the Democrat's do something the public doesn't want, frequently.
Who watches FOX? It's split pretty equally according to polls. Leading the way now Independants followed closley by Liberal's. The last category is Conservatives.
There are liberal commontator's on FOX daily; are there Conservative's on other station's?
The tee-shirt you said you saw would be put down by anyone on FOX. You made no reference to Nancy Pelosi and her Nazi reference, why not?
At Tea Parties the only arrests are of Union thugs beating people. Tea-Parties leave the demonstration area clean. These are mostly parents and grandparents. At Liberal demonstrations they leave tons of garbage behind. These are the people that talk,"GREEN." That's enough.

There is NEWS and OPINION. That would be TWO different types of programing for those unable to distinguish as is obvious by their answers here. For the brain-challenged - when you say, "Guest" that would indicate OPINION programing. They don't have to be "fair and balance" when the host makes it clear what their personal opinions are based upon, it's THEIR show - they can have whatever guests they want and they can cut off whoever they want. That may be rude - but that's life. At least liberals GET a forum on Fox OPINION programing.
To expalin: The OPINION portion - that's where the commentator gives their OPINION and on Fox they are OPEN about their leanings -- repeated for the dense - there are times when the host will allow one point of view to go longer than the other point of view.
There are also OPINION PORTIONS of the News Programing - they'll call it "Panels" or something like that.
