Why God Ordered the Destruction of People

Exo 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

God is a man of war. Who does God war against? Why does God war against anyone? The answer is in the New Testament. (Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. ) Spritual wickedness in high places. God wants us to destroy the "spiritual wickedness" in our lives. He wants us to completely destroy the works of satan. Leave no stone unturned, so to speak.

Exo 17:16 For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

The war against the Amalekites was not so much against the people, but against their wickedness. God will not destroy anyone or anything that is righteous. God did not merely destroy people, but destroyed a way of life that was totally and completely against God and His people. This is the reason God commanded Israel to completely destroy everything associated with their enemies. God wanted nothing left that may cause Israel to backslide into wickedness. God wanted Israel to remain faithful to Him and Him alone.

Num 1:3 From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.

God wants all who came of age to fight to possess what God has given Israel. God promised Israel a land flowing with milk and honey. God made a way for them to possess it. Now it is time for Israel to do their part to receive this promise. If they had left some of the things they were to destroy intact, it would be like a "seed of wickedness" that was left. Like weeding a garden, the weeds roots must be pulled out also, not just the weeds cut off at ground level.

Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

The whole armour of God is what we need on a daily basis. How can we fight if we don't have the weapons to fight with? How can we fight if we have not been trained properly? We must get our training, then our weapons, so we can go out and fight. When we fight, we must fight to completely destroy anything that is unclean in the eyes of God. So many people listen to men and do only what they are told by men. We must seek God for the answers that we need. It is good to listen to men, but the final authority is God.

1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

We must be ready to wage war against the enemy. We must always be ready to fight "the good fight of faith." We must hold onto eternal life, for God has called us to this. We must witness God's grace and mercy to all that we are able to come in contact with.

Satan has nothing that we need. Everything in his possession is evil and wicked. It is all unclean. Satan is a liar and a murderer (Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.) Why are so many willing to follow a murderer? Why did I use to follow this same murderer? I was blind to what is truth. I refused for a long time to accept the truth of God.

There are many people today who refuse the truth of God. Are they any worse than I used to be? They are no worse than I was a few years ago. The worst drug addict in the world will go to the same hell as the nicest man or woman that refuses to accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Why? Because they refuse to accept the great salvation of God through Christ Jesus. They refuse the love of God in Christ Jesus. They in essence call God a liar by refusing Jesus. I urge anyone who is lost to honestly consider accepting Jesus right now as your Saviour.

Jesus knocks on the door to your heart at this time. He wants you to open the door and let Him come in. We allow many other things to come inside. Unclean spirits cannot simply come and go as they please, unless we first open the door to let them in. God loves you so much that He gave His only begotten son to die for your sins. Jesus took the punishment that we all deserved upon Himself so that we can have life. Has anyone ever taken the heat for something you had done? Isn't it great to have a friend like that? They take the punishment for your wrong-doing?

There is no greater sacrifice than a man give his life for a friend. The sacrifice was made even as we were still the enemies of God.( Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Joh 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Joh 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. Joh 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. ) I know this is a lot of scripure to read. This is necessary in order to truyl understand what Jesus actually did. Jesus offers life to all who will accpet it. He loves us all that much that He died in our place.

The death that we all deserve He took for us. If we look toward the last of these scriptures we notice that condemnation is already set for those that refuse salvation(Joh 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light. ) Those who refuse hate Jesus. Jesus is the light that is refused. This man that went about doing nothing but good is rejected by those that will call God a liar. Jesus did not come to condemn the world. The world is already condemned. There is no hope for those that are "in the world" excpt they repent and ask for forgiveness for their sins.

Please consider giving your life and heart to Jesus. He truly does love you. God will not reward wickedness with goodness. The wrath of God is coming to this world and the world will not like it when it does come. The thing is, you dont have to be on the receving end of the wrath of God. Those that still refuse I urge you to please reconsider. There is really notmuch else for me to say at this time. The ball is in your court now.

Prayer

Father God let us thank you for the sacrifice of your Son Jesus. We are so thankful that He took our place on the cross and died the death that we so richly deserve. It is my prayer now that those who read this be touched in the spirit by you Lord Jesus. I pray that lost souls find you Lord through this message that you have given me, but not only to me but to all who read it. You are most gracious Lord. None can stand against you. Let us destroy all the works of the enemy in our lives that wre may draw closer to you Lord. Let your praise be continually on our lips and in our hearts. In Jesus mighty name, AMEN.

The only devil anyone has to fight is the one inside themselves, if all did this we wouldnt fight one another. Have you ever wondered if Jesus is hanging out in Hell because Jesus on His own free will sacrifeced himself for all of us. That Jesus is paying the price for us in Hell? If Jesus feels every tear, every sorrow every grief every pain and all the ugly, wouldnt you consider that Hell?

Jesus did indeed go into hell. He came out also. The three days He was in the grave, He was in hell preaching to those who were imprisoned. He does feel our infirmities. How could He know what we go through and make sure we know if He didn't become like us?

I gather from your comment that you must not believe the Bible to be God's Word. Not complaining, for I see many who don't believe in it.

Indeed I do not believe every word of the Bible, however if Jesus didnt say it in the new testament I dont believe it. I mean I believe that the apostolistic liars are in the Bible and its up to the believer to deciefer the truth. There is much truth, but I remember Jesus saying after he passed down his two commandments. Have no other God besides the Creator of Heaven and Earth and all that is in them, and Love your brothers as you love yourself...Do not add anything to these commandments, and keep your commandments.

Anyways the path to God is the one you find on your own, the peace you have in your own meditation of prayers or thoughts to God. Living on Earth and praising the Gospel wont change the outcome of whether or not you can go to Heaven, believing in Gods loving kindess, mercy and forgivness will.

I was told that God can and does forgive every sin of those who enter into damnation, all but 1, their sin is not accepting Jesus Christ. God can't do that for them. But Jesus took all their sins but that one. Their free will refusing Him is actually what condemns them.

SirDent, I enjoyed this Hub. The comments by members above were posted mostly respectfully. This is not meant as disrespect toward those who do come in to comment on Bible subject Hubs with argumentive points but I think the point is sometime forgotten that these type are written from a "belief-perspective". That doesn't mean we don't want comments from unbelievers in the Bible but it sometimes seems the subject always gets redirected back to belief in the Bible "as a whole" rather than discussion on the specific subject as the Bible conveys it (whether believed or not). There seems to always be comments not related to the specific subject and we instead see God as a whole or satan as a whole or the Bible as whole being questioned. It's nice sometimes to see the exact subject commented on as reflected in the title and content. Some people also seem uncomfortable with belief in the Bible as entirely God's Word even though there's no threat to them by the fact we believe unless we are attacking their beliefs. Some Christians do attack those of other beliefs/religions but I'm not one of them and I don't believe you are either. Of course we write/speak with conviction, just as they do with their beliefs and respecting that fact makes for a lot better discussions in my opinion. I like how you addressed the subject of divine judgment by God's directive and that God sees the destructive spiritual influence behind the evil acts of mankind, as we also should see it (Eph 6).

Great thoughts. People often struggle with the righteousness of God meaning he can destroy evil> I have always wondered why so many people see contradiction here. God is just, he offers grace instead of justice if we merely accept His son. Ironic that people rail against Him because of the decision they make.

Hi.

Why does the revival tarry? It is because God’s

people tarry to obey the powerful command of

the Lord in Rev. 18:4. This is the most powerful

revival message of the Lord to his people in our time.

As in the days of Lot, it is now. Lot was not interested

to leave Sodom. God sent two angels to rescue him,

and they must persuade him to leave Sodom. When

he yet lingered, one of the angels said to him:

"Flee for your life sake ..."

Just like as Lot, God’s people are not interested to

leave the great Babylon, but finally they must flee

for their life from there.

God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge

because their preachers have rejected knowledge.

Hosea 4:6-11. Instead to preaching the truth of the

Assembly of God, they have preached lies about the

Assembly of God. The Pentecostalists have abused

the expression "Assembly of God" and used it as a

name of their church.
