Loveable Gentle Giants

If you're looking for love, look no further than the Great Dane! These gentle giants, are large in size and heart!

There are more advantages to Great Danes than just their sweet dispositions and big melt-your-heart eyes. They are very loyal family pets. They adore their human companions, and while they are not aggressive dogs, they will protect their owners with their lives.

Some people avoid getting a great dane when they live in town because they believe that large, make that GIANT, dogs need GIANT yards to play in. NOT SO! Great Danes are very big couch potatoes, and they do not require large amounts of exercise. Yes they do need to play and walks are good, but they are not a high maintainence dog.

Don't they have a lifespan of about 7 years?

That's basically a myth. The average great dane life span is 9-15 years. 9 yrs would be a poorly cared for dog, or over bred female. Most live into their early teens. Great danes, like all giant breeds, don't live as long as some of the smaller breeds that can live into their upper teens.
