Why I Write Religious Hubs
61I have a great faith in Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. I am member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which many may know as Mormons. But to let everyone know that there were several churches that split off from the original church, and are also known as Mormons. So the word Mormons, do not accurately describe the church, and we use LDS for a better and shorter name to describe our church.
I went on a mission to Portugal thirty years ago and introduce many to the gospel, who claimed to be religious, but never did anything religious, such go to church or read the Bible. I have studied the scriptures extensively before and while I was on my mission. I have not studied as hardily lately because of all my other responsibilities, but I still read and study a little quite often.
Since the mission time I have been involved in the church steadily, and I now have sons going out into the mission field and helping mankind.
I have a great testimony of the things I write about on the Hubs. As in the hubs, I tell people to study the things and ask God in prayer about the truth of the things. Peter, in the Bible learned of the truth about Christ through revelation giving to him. Christ said that this principle was what he would build his church upon, personal revelation.
I know from personal experience that if you are sincere and prayer honestly to God, he will let you know the answer. Some say, this must be an evil spirit then. I must say to them, how can you even think that praying to God sincerely, that God would allow this to happen? Get real!
I have studied these things and prayed to God for him to let me know of the truth. I fasted and prayed honestly for an answer. And I have had the sweet feeling of the Holy Ghost the comforter, the testifier of all things, come up on me several times and tell me that the things I have study and learned are indeed true. And it is my message to others that they may know of these things too, by the same way
We teach by the Holy Spirit. Man's logic and man-thought cannot tell you the truth of these things. Gods ways are not mans ways. It takes the works ot the Holy Ghost to teach the truths of Christ gospel. Reverent, loving positive ways of teaching are of God, and the Holy Ghost. Any contentious, fighting or negative methods are not of God and the Holy Ghost will not be with the person(s) that do this. There have been numerous wars fought over religions. Many have lost their lives in the what is supposed to be "in the name of God." And many have given up faith and do not believe in God any more because of seeing these types of things..
There is a lot of Anti-Mormon attacking going on in the world. As I said before, just by the attacking and manner being done, that it is not of God. You can tell by the way the anti-Mormon attacking is being done that it is not of God. And anyone who is doing it does not have the spirit of God with them.
And as I said earlier, if they do not have the spirit, they cannot learn of the truth. Therefore Those that are Bible bashing and do the thinks in this manner are not of God and do not listen to them. These defenders of the Bible and their interpretations of the Bible are practicing an unholy act when they think they should attack others over it. It reminds me of Paul, in the Bible. He thought he was doing the right thing, and defending God by going against the desciples of Christ. Christ, knowing diligence, chastened Paul in revelation and turned Paul around. So be with these defenders and attackers. They need to remove the beam from their own eye first. God is love, not a God of contentions.
Also, I do not put any revenue items on my hubs, because it is not about money. I see many writing about religion with links to make money. Are they doing this sincerely to teach, or are they deceivingly writing to for money?
I hope to find time to write many more religious hubs and essential to the gospel of Jesus Christ, to let others know of these teachings. Heck, my money making hubs are not making much money, so I feel I need write about the gospel and do good with my time..
I invite all to read, study and pray to God for know of the truth. This I leave with you in the name of Jesus Christ, my Redeemer, Savior and Friend, who is the God who created this Earth and Heavens. Amen.
Disclaimer
The Hubs that I write about religion are from my understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and in no way is to be taken as the official doctrine of any given church. I have no permissions or rights to claim that I represent any church or group of people. These are my understanding of the gospel. I may have errors, but I try to do the best of my capability to bring on points from my understanding of the Gospel.

Ande, I know where you come from. How can 200 religions say they are they one, and each teach something different. If not for my religion, I would be right on your side all of the way.
Thanks for hubbing by.

EOVERY: As you know, I share your faith. I was in Finland for 30 months on a Mormon mission and had some success in bringing the truth to people. I agree, wholeheartedly, you don't learn spiritual things by the intellect, primarily. Yes, you need to read the subject matter and pray about it -- and in our church that means you read the Book of Mormon, Bible, Pearl of Great Price, Doctrine and Covenants, Conference talks from the apostles and the prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, and attend church for more. But it takes a spiritual conversion. We learn by the spirit because what is religion if it isn't spiritual. Conversion comes from a heart touched by the Holy Ghost. You're doing a good work, Eovery, in letting people know of our faith in Jesus Christ and God the Father. I believe likewise. One interesting thing about Mormons is that, unlike other churches, we all believe the same doctrine and we believe it the same way. There isn't one doctrine being taught in California and another taught in Spain. It's coordinated because it is the truth, undefiled. Maybe, eovery, this would be a good topic for your next blog.
I love to read your blogs. Then tell them the history and purpose of the Pearl of Great Price and the D&C. Just a thought.

Thanks for you testimony Don, I have so many ideas to write on. This is a good idea. i am not sure where to start. I had started one on the hypocephalus that was translated by Joseph Smith, that is of the Pearl of Great Price. I have several picture of other hypocephali. I have read a few books on them and the symbols of them, They do show that their main belief was of the trinity, and their vase understanding of the stars. Also, Abraham had lived amongst them for many years, I know he would have taught them.
So as I get time, there could be a lot of info that can be done. There is also some fine write up by LDSnana and others on Hubpages.
Thanks for hubbing by.

I enjoyed your fine article. It is well thought out and well written. Every LDS member I have met, has been a wonderful person. By their fruits we shall know them. Thanks for the good read.
Thanks for the kind words James. I have been enjoying your hubs, too.

A good message. Those who attack fear, granted coming from me that is a strange thing to say. Though I hope to create a balance with my message of anti-religion I hope to discover truth. One thing I know is that no one individual/religion can claim that they are the right one. I believe that I'm right and all those who follow any religion are wrong. The one thing I do know is that IF there is a god and you are praying to this entity, that the devil can not influence that incantation. i.e. praying to Jesus can not invoke the beast or any of his minions.
I also do not understand how one religion can attack another in this day and age. I thought we were all civilized good christians. Why can Jesus or Mary come to certain priests...i.e. the blessed virgin revealing herself to the priests at Fatima, the starting of the Rosary...etc. and not to a individual in the 1800's. 1850 something or am I wrong? Anyway, that seems to be a little egocentric but I digress.
Good luck with your mission and that of your children. Even if christian's are wrong it is better to spread peace than hatred. That goes for Muslim, Catholic, Buddist, Scientology, Jedi or whatever. A lesson even us agnostic/athiest evil doer's must learn.
Keep it up and have fun.
