Why I hate Christians who don't listen.

The simple reason, because you came and invaded my space and messed my mind up with your ignorant claims to God, you put images in my head. I think that Christianity is the worst representation of God ever because you take it upon yourselves to make them or me think that we have to follow you and be part of your number. It is wrong, and you made me make the greatest sin I could ever do to God; you tricked me into worshiping something that was not my God. That is my sin of adultery. I will never forgive myself for referring to God by another name, it hurts every time I think about it.

The Adulteress:

I cheated on God and that is the worst crime ever according to your Bible. I sinned against God. I blame Christianity. What once made me innocent before God made has now made me the worst ever before God and now I have to make it up to God.

Jesus:

Indeed I do love Jesus, but Jesus is not my God. Jesus may be my savior but He was warning people of this sin. He never intended for people to worship him as the one God, he intended to keep you innocent before God. He could have been a crazy man, but I don't care, Jesus did not write the Bible, what people write are their interpretations of Jesus and what he means to them and the miracles he created. Hey...I am all for that. I think it's great when people share their miracles with other people, because miracles do happen.

Out of all the things in life that I have been through, which are pretty significant in comparison to some, but very insignificant in comparison to others, being hunted by Christians is the most hurtful of all.

I totally understand what other cultures must feel like i.e. Muslims. I am not Muslim, but their idea of God is much closer to mine than Christianity, and I know how it feels to have someone come into and demand certain ideas from something that is completely sacred to a man.

I am sure there is only One God; I believe that hands down, I don't see how anyone can argue that except for Christians. I know how you feel about Jesus and why you think he is god and all, but he tells you he isn't, he tell you don't worship him, he tells you clear as day that he is not God. Love the Father. And I do love the Father. I have no idea what God looks like, I don't care what God looks like, but the simple matter in this hub is that I think that Christians are the Anti-Christ because you do everything Christ told you not to do.

I know saying these things to your face isn't going to change your minds, but I see a difference in a real Christian and a false one. And you false ones scare the &^%* out of me! You scare me because you are going to try and dominate the world. You are going to push every button and invade every space you can to stake claims in heaven.

This world does not belong to Christians alone, and neither does heaven, it belongs to the people of the world. You can't choose for them, they chose for themselves.

I am serious, you have to stop preaching lies to people and causing them to sin. You do, do this. I know you can't see it but you do it. You say that it's because they don't want to hear the good with the bad, and I am sorry to have to tell you this, but you guys are the ones who are doing this. When you invade people's interpretations of God and offend them, it touches a nerve that is hell bent against you for it. You just can't do that.

You have no idea how much you destroy peoples lives. You think it is right, but you feel the same when someone does it to you, you don't get along with each other in your own religion. Mormons against Mormons, against Jehovah, against Jews, this brother against brother thing, it is not anyone but yourselves on yourselves. You are horrible people.

I don't want to be the so called beast here, but a small few are going to hear what I am telling them, I may very well be an Antichrist, but don't get confused with anti-Jesus cause I am not. Jesus didn't come into my life and destroy my relationship with God; I heard his words and was protected.

That night, when the spirit spoke it said among other things, "I am afraid you have gone a stray, I am afraid I am too late." At the time, I couldn't figure it out, but the more I think about it, I realized, it was because I was reading that Bible, I was starting to call God Jesus, I was trading in my God, for yours. I didn't realize it at the time because I thought that that book was from God and that was what I was supposed to do, but I was wrong. God did not write it.

The Bible:

I learned how to love on my own. I learned about God on my own, I knew what was right from wrong on my own and I listened to it. When I read the Bible, I learned that people like Jesus love you like I love you, but hates one thing; I bet you can figure it out. I learned how to hate from reading the Bible. I learned all its manipulative tricks of the trade to make people fear putting it down and walking in faith. I learned that the Bible is a curse. I am stuck in that curse, because now I sit around thinking about how I can get you guys to know God, but in return you are going to hate me for it.

You will ignore every word I tell you because that book, not God, has you wrapped up in it and ready to destroy things around you. You're like a virus that is why you only infect the ones who are week in faith. Then you get them to turn on people who don't view things like you do. You make them think that loving the Earth and all the things that come with it is evil. Especially when the Bible says that God is in everything. I believe it and I recognize and appreciate it all. There isn't anything about this world that isn't beautiful in its own way.

When I think of God, I admire the trees and the grass and the rain, I take in a heaping breath of (now polluted) air and think what a beautiful place this place called Earth is, and it reminds me of Heaven. What did they do to my Heaven?

When I think of God, I think what a wonder, all these things you made. You made them, how, why, when, for what purpose, why are you so important God? Then I was reminded of how important people are but they haven't figured it out yet.

What do you think is going to happen when everything is gone? This tribulation you always preach about, what do you think you are going to do when it comes down to the end? Are you going to help your brothers? Or are you going to help your Christian brother over your blood brother? Or are you going to just help whoever is right next to you? This bothers me.

I think that you have the Devil right under your tongues, your called preachers. You're teaching people to sin against God with your god. That is not God. I don't really know how long I am going to have to become like you to get you to be like me? You are blind still...What you do really hurts people.

I don't think there is anything in this world or the next that can offend someone like coming between yourself and God. It does hurt, and it does offend people to the death, to defend their god. I know we all have the same God, but what you know of God and what I know of God are different things. Don't impose, the harder you push the more they are going to push back, or I am going to push back, because that is how much it offended me.

Everyone was given a lot in life, there isn't anyone out there that doesn't have a place somewhere, but you try to take their place from them, this happens on Earth, this happens in Heaven, stop doing it.

If I offended you, then I am glad I offended you; you need to know what it feels like. This is snakes under tongues, then again some of you stopped reading before you got to this part that says, This is where you go wrong, you stopped short of God. Either you get it or you will never get it, ponder the Hell out of it.

I love God, people. Some people think what I say is blasphemy, but I tell you, what I think you do is blasphemy. God is only going to take so much you know.

Hi sandra, and Wow! What an explosion! Now that you have got that out of your system you can rise higher by forgiving them who offend your beliefs. You know, a lot of what is in the Bible is good and true, mostly its how the Bible is understood (or misunderstood) which causes the problem and puts God in a bad light. But I doubt if all of it is "inspired" by God.

God is not a punishable God. He is Life itself, and we are all (sorry, but all includes "them" also) part of that life, and if God has warned us of hell and punishment I believe that is a warning of all the negative stuff that we can attract into our lives if we do not ascend above the qualour of greed and accusation, and instead live lives of love and respect of our neighbour, no matter what he believes or thinks, and to reach for God, that higher experience of spirituality, the true life, love in purity.

I know what you are saying. I have experience something similar. The best is to withdraw from those who accuse and think negative and seek those who accept you for what you are and who have positive attitudes. Spend time with them and soak in a new awareness of belongingness in this world and the next.

Hello Sandra,

You are correct, Jesus is not GOD.  At the risk of offending you, and for the sake of discussion only, I must not only stand up for the Bible, but act as it's advocate.

Whether YOU ever accept what is writen in the Bible, is for You to decide.  But the things written in the Bible do two things.  the Old Testement, speaks of Jesus's coming.

The New Testement speaks of his Jesus' life on earth and the purpose for which he was born.

Also the Bible is a literary recording of how GOD interacted with other humans through-out, the ages.  This was meant as a guide for us so that we would be more able to please him.

No one is trying to take your beliefes or way of life from you, but if you gain accurate knowledge of the Bible,  you may find peace of mind, beyond that which you experience now.

I am sure that if you have been offended in any way it was not intentional and those who have offended you are deeply sorry for causing You pain.

But please do not allow emotional distress to blind you to what may be the truth.

Questions:

How old were you when you found out that there was no Santa Clause?

How do you feel about Christmas being a tool of commercialism?

The Bible recounts how Jesus, drove the money changers form the temple.  Why did he do this?

It was because, the money changers had inflated the price of the sacrifces the wordhipers had to purchase in oder to fullfil there obligation to GOD.

A dove that should have cost the equivelant of 5,cent was jacked up to the equivelent, of 50 cent.  In those days this was a great deal of money and inflating the prices of the sacrifices meant that many poorer, worshipers; could not make the appropreate sacrifice.

But only by studying the Bible do we gainaaccurate kknowledge of GOD and his purpose.

I like the way you redeem yourself in your hub by acknowledging, that hating your brother or sister is repugnent to you.

Here's a good rule of thub for dealing with life in general.  When ever you recieve advice or open suggestions.  Take away the parts that pertain to you and, that you can use,  then throw the rest away.

Lastly growing is always painful we leave old friends when we have a change of heart.  Friends that we counted on for security and to help determine who we are. But sometimes the grass is greener on the other side.

So be at peace, you will not be tortured,or forced to accept any changes that are not for You.

Jeromeo, I think what Sandra is saying is that "I learned how to love on my own. I learned about God on my own, I knew what was right from wrong on my own and I listened to it." Seeking God has nothing to do with the Bible or any other writings or what people say. The Bible itself says that those who seek him will find him. Sandra has done that. And any who seek him will find him, with or without the Bible, because God is in each of us, and only when we look deep into our beings can we find him.

Hey Jeremo- Jesus didn't get angry at the money for inflating cost, he got mad at them for using his "fathers" house for trade of money and such, when the temple was for prayer only. I do wonder if you read the entire hub, the last few lines were pretty important.

Hey Jimmudoc- thanks, I forgave them all before I even needed to know why it was so important to do so. No, I don't think God is a punishing one at all, but I do think that eventually will come a time when things will change, it's changing now.

I would love to just go back to my happy little life doing whatever made me happy, but when God speaks, I listen. If I stopped doing the things I have to do now, I would be sinning twice againts God. I know I would be forgiven if I did, but I made a promise to God. But eventually people will understand what I am doing, but it would take a great amount of humiliation to get these people to wake up.

I believe there were two books written, neither one is a lie, I don't call the Bible a lie, it has the truth about the lies and the liars written in it already, so it is the book of truth of lies and deception. There are many blessings in store for the ones who read the right book.

I don't think people did it intentionally, I don't think they were thinking to themselves that I want to go ruin someones life, thats just ignorant, but in ignorance, people have exalted themseves without their proper odrination that is from God and no man can give it to you, with that all these people are out doing all this stuff that is wrong and really believe it is right.

p.s Jeremo, I think you are wiser and with due respect, I am not in a conflict with a good Christian but the root goes way back and it's that thing I am againts. Let's call it Satan. That is what I hate and there is such a fine line between Satan and God and very few have eyes to see it, or ears to hear it.

Hello Sandra,

I appreciate the compliment. You seemed so upset, by what ever it was, that upset you; I just wanted to let you know I'm a fan.

Personally I don't expect you to do anything but write what you feel. I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death, your right to say it.

I find you to be honest; and some times vulnerable in that honesty. But you are strong in your self confidence and not one to shy away from a good debate.

I see you have other fans in the Hub community and that's only because we all feel you have something to say.

When I speak I try to make sure that I'm not just throwing somthing out there to get attention. I want it to be meaningful and say something that you can take to the bank, if you rely on it.

I will never patranize you; I value your respect to much for that. I will never deliberatley criticize you for your opinion because I'v found many of lifes lessons in the opinions of others.

You have a unique personality supported by an optimistic, acceptance of the rest of us. I think that's cool. You project a mature innocence that hides a stern resolve.

The resolve is to be your self no matter what; and when challenged, whether it be about your belief system, or core values...YOu will come out fighting.

You take care not to offend even in your anger. You experience remorse even when you feel justified in being offended.

Sum it up to say you are well rounded in your self development. We may speak often through or hubs. And I assure you I read every word of what you right. I find your phrasing exillerating, complex, and all ways interesting.

When you are on a roll you express yourself in a rapid fire literary style that is engrossing and rewarding to the reader.

As a hub fan let me suggesst that you visit helium.com. They offer a veriety of subjects that I am sure you will be able to expond on.

You have a lot of interesting things to say, and this neighborhood is just a bit small; for you to adaquetly express all that you feel in your heart.

On Helium they rate your responses to open requests and they have a wide veriety of subjects to choose form. They even have offers for writers to become published, to provide commercial writing and submit items on topics that are immediatley benifical to others.

I realy think you'll like it, and most of all I feel You will be rewarded by knowing that you are make a contribution in real time.

Lastley, You are a very giving person and all these qualitys that I precieve through your writing make me one of your fans. Guess I sound like a Rock Star Groupy?

Be at peace, you're good people.

Your fan,

Hello jimmurdoch,

I see you are also a fan of Sandra's and a protective one; which gives your support of her writings added value.

I found God on my own also.  It is not surpising that we do this when you consider we are made in his image.  But for my self perosnally I prefer to have accurate knowledge of God. I feel that I can get that by reading the Bible.

I do not try to speak for everyone but I like to share good things with my friends. Or at least offer and give them the chance to refuse.

After all Satan is a God too.  He is the God of this system of things.  And sense he hates us all, I would not want to make the mistake of giving Satan worship that belongs to GOD.

I don't mid being enlightened, just thought I give you a chance to undertstand why I write what I write.

Now as soon as I finish this comment. I am going to Your hub so I can read your writings and get an accurate knowledge of you.

So far I know you are a warm hearted individule who would put himself out to help some one he considered a friend.  That's cool.

And anytime you feel I need some helpful advice; I'm open.  I may not necessarily agree with you, but I am about growing.  If I'm the same Man today I was yesterday, then I'v been waisting time.

Nice to make Your aquaintence, got to go, got to read your Hub.

Will leave comment,

Wonderfully WELL SAID, Sandra Rinck! Explosion and all. People have made anything and anyone (Jesus, Saints, etc) connected with 'their god', the 'god itself,' in leiu of learning teachings that the ancients meant to convey by writing data down. Consider 'myth,' consider oral tales, consider the circumstances the authors of the Bible were in at the time of writing...these considerations will bring more breadth and depth to understanding of Biblical text...it is text outside of our times that Westerners, typically, are losing the context of more and more each day.

As you've indicated so strongly, it's time to discover a real god and the spirit of god within ourselves - get back 'connection' with God, rather than attaching to "power," puffed up chests. and the 'us' and 'them' attitude. Christianity is one of the few of HUNDREDS of belief systems which isolates and separates 'believers' from 'non-believers,' and this is not in Biblical text as a commandment at all.

Westerners (primarily) FORGET that they are but ONE set of cultures. Even indigenous western Natives did not survive Christianity. Remnants of culture still trickle through from the indigenous peoples, and those who grasp onto these remnants are also told to 'forgive.' Does being Christian alleviate accountability?

Meanwhile, I am in agreement with what you said, Sandra, about 'offending' because you have expressed yourself in a reasonable way, in a safe way, in text. In doing so, if you have offended people, then they are required to come up with a reasonable argument to defend what their beliefs are. You have hit upon a handful of significant points which attack part of the core of Christian belief, so hopefully, people are looking within to see whether or not their beliefs have been hand-delivered to them and absorbed without true 'learning' about God - or whether beliefs have been 'actively acquired' through life experience like you seem to be conveying about your own understandings of God.

Sandra,

I grew up Mormon and became a Christian when I was older. I have seen the judgement of many people, Mormon and Christians alike. I know the hurt people can inflict on others as I have been judged, outcast and looked down upon over my many difficult years. I can understand your hurt and anger. One thing that I have learned is that "people" (no matter what their religion can be very bitter, mean, insecure and judgemental.) That is called being human. I personally believe that Jesus is the son of God and my interpretation of the Bible has taught me to be "Christ like". I have learned to never judge others for their beliefs, thoughts, feelings or ideas. I think that the "Christians" that you refer to are the RELIGIOUS people who follow religious rituals and judgements. I have been completely changed by making sure that I am a person who does not go around preaching or telling others how to act or believe. I think actions speak louder than words and in the Bible Jesus was the first one to go to the hurting, weak, sick and outcast people and just show them love, compassion and kindness. The "Religious" people of HIS day were the first ones to judge, question, look down upon and outcast Jesus for this. Sounds pretty familiar huh? Jesus always referred to God as his father and continued to do his father's will.

I believe that Christianity...true Christianity is being Christ like and loving people (especially those that are the hardest to love...they need it the most). By this I mean, go out and DO for others, volunteer at a homeless shelter, take food to the sick and elderly, sponsor a family in need at Christmas time, visit terminally sick children in a hospital, donate and PERSONALLY distribute your excess belongings piling up in your garage, closet and drawers to those in need.

I have also been the fortunate recipient of the heart and kindness of true Christians . I am not writing this to preach to you but to show you that unfortunately we are all human and trying to become the best people we can possibly be. We all often fall short and can do things that hurt or anger others. Fortunately through Christ's example we can just go back out there and continue DOING things for others (not TELLING others how they should act). Love and acts of kindness for others is the only way to change YOURSELF. Through your acts of giving and caring people will see that there is hope for each one of us no matter what we've done or how we've lived.

Sandra, I wish you luck and hope that I have helped you see another viewpoint from a Christian who is just trying to be the best person I can be and "make a difference" in someone's life one day at a time by giving of myself.

When I see one or feel one, I know the things in your heart are good and you have a place up above and have heard what you needed to hear, I will never fight againts those things because it's a virtue and it's good in the eyes of God. Many blessings upon you.

I have many friends like you that I adore, most do not attend church, but what I love about them is that they don''t try to tell me how to live or love God. What is disturbing is that others who call themselves Christians give people like you a bad name.

actually I did read the whole hub and simply asked a question. I suppose it is true that we each know God in different ways. It's nice though, when there is unity and oneness, like there is with God and His Son. I've learned how NOT to become offended, so that I do not make another the OFFENDER. It just sets both sides free. And it really doesn't matter what others say or do -when you think about the bigger picture and the bigger plan. I do however appreciate your desire for others to see the TRUTH. My desire and prayer is the same, and I also hope and pray that I can remain HARMLESS in my dealings with others...I do fall short of that desire from time to time, so I do apologize if this was one of those times :)   Have a wonderful day Sandra

There is little difference between the christian, islamic or any other religious fundamentalist.  They all believe that ONLY their version of “god” is allowed.  Anyone who will not convert must die.  It’s very simple; Jihadists for (your deity here).

As the totally unpatriotic Bush administration and the neoconservatives hypocritically wrap themselves in the American flag, so do the anti Christ “Christian” fundamentalists cloak themselves in their perverted “interpretations” of the teachings of Jesus and the Bible

Pretty intresting topic you have here. I pretty much agree with you, just in a more...subtle form heh. But I basically feel the same way.

The main problem I see in various branches of Christianity is the heavy reliance on the Bible. I find the Bible should be considerd more as guidelines to moral objectives rather than a set of rules that you must follow. Afterall it was written by man, and simply because man said it was ordained by God, doesn't necessarily make it true. Believe in God and only God in my opinion. Man lost my respect a looooong time ago.

Religion divides us. We need to follow our hearts. God means many different things to many different hearts. I don't say that I follow God, but rather I say that I simply follow my heart. I love all peoples, I devote my life to children and teaching them. I am a good person and I do not worry what others think. I am an athiest.

Good for you glacava. I know you said you are an atheist, which doesn't bother me, but I want to share with you one thing.

1 John 4:7...says in short:

That anyone who loves is from God because God is love.

Maybe you don't have to worship, maybe you don't need to pray, but if you know love, which you do, then you already know God because that is what God is.

I know what you mean... I detest people who say they are Christians when clearly they are reading from their OWN hymn sheet.Hypocrites I call them and there are plenty of them filling the pews.

Countrymouse's first comment was that regardless of these people who invoke this 'hatred' and have indeed sourced this hub with inspiration... if you have love in your heart, you have God and if you have God in your heart there is no room for hate. So therefore you shouldn't 'hate'. Well that's my interpretation of it lol

I have not been a Christian for many years but I know the faith and I understand the passion.Without causing offence, there is a need of love and war because there has to be a balance. What I don't believe in is capital greed and men in power (often saying they are men of God like Bush) who rape the world for their own gains, go to church and come out 'clean'. It doesn't work that way.

So kudos to you real Christians who can see the evils of this and stand by your convictions. If that means turning the hypocrites tables over at the temple, then so be it.

Wow! The title first blew me away and the article you wrote makes sense to me, saddens me, and interests me at the same time. I have a better understanding of you because I'm able to read your own experiences here, and there are some experiences that I can agree and relate to. One thing that I disagree with is when you say that, "This world does not belong to Christains alone, and neither does heaven, it belongs to the good people of the world." For any Christian(zealous or otherwise), the bible states in Romans 12:2, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." I am a God fearing Christian, but unlike some that attempt to cram their beliefs into the minds of anyone who doesn't believe what they believe, I choose to be a fisher of men by sharing my experiences and how they made me the man I am and I strive to be the best example of a lover of God I can be.

Thank you talented-ink. Since I wrote this I have still be studying away trying to understand as much as I can because to understand Christians I have to be a Christains, though I aim to be a good one. :)

About what you wrote, to not conform to the world would be the disobeidient or sinful nature of man to follow the path of material wealth, (greed that is,too much) drunkeness, and the exclusion of God altogether.

Romans 3:11 reads two ways to me: 1 being that too much fear causes destruction, or in otherwords, you should have more love then fear for God. To some extend, I have a heck of a lot of fear of God, but my love is better.

2nd. Without the fear, is total destruction, so peace is a middle ground as we all are equally unrightoius and misguided and imperfect. And I do mean that every single one of us, no matter how right we think we are, are in someways misguided.

For people, we don't need to hurt each other to find peace. Even if some argue it must be done, I believe that God can sort it out for us so that those things are not piled up on our consciences.

Ok, I am off to read what you wrote. Thank you once again.

I have come to believe that the only way we can truly understand a person is to know their experiences and how they've molded them into the person they are. I'm a God fearing Christian in the sense that my fear of God is reverence and respect for Him and what He does. I don't ever plan on running away scared from Him because I don't believe that God ever intended for us to fear him in that way.

Jesus is God - how would you explain Isaiah 9 v6-7 unto us a child is born... with all those great titles...and even with that Jesus died and went back to Heaven with the Father, so He's the son of God, I don't know about you; but my son is a boy but he's still a man (part of the man family), so Jesus is the son of God and is of the God family. Thomas called Him, "my Lord and my God" when Jesus appeared to the disciples.

And you didn't learn none of what you know on your own; somebody taught you everything...don't give yourself too much credit. Lastly, the bible is the book that brought you the name of Jesus, brought you a God taking credit for making the world - if it wasn't for the bible you wouldn't know anything regarding God. So take all of it or none of it. Stop taking pieces of what you want and like; and stuff you don't want and don't like throwing that out saying it's not true.

Whateva, I have my own God, and my God can kick your gods butt. My God is kind, sweet, gental. My God is understanding, compassion and moral. My God does not care whether or not I believe that Jesus is God.

My God loves me no matter what, my God can do anything I want my God to do. My God does not make practices out of dividing people up into group that swear to hate each other because they believe something else.

My God doesn't even care if anyone believes in Him or not. My God said there is so much to understand about this world that He will forgive us anyways as long as we make the effort to do what is good.

My God said, I do not have to do anything that makes me or anyone else feel bad. Further, my God said that He wouldn't never expect me to do anything that I disagree with or do not feel is right.

My God said stay away from people who tell me that anyone or thing but Him is God, and that Him is my God, not your God. I do not believe in your god. I do not believe that Jesus is God, I do not believe the Catholic chuch is a moral church, and I do not believe what you do is right.

I will not follow you, I will not listen to what you say because you do not care about me. Period!

My God cares about me, and my God cares about everyone else including you no matter what you believe. My God is all loving. My God is all understanding. My God knows what it means to be blind, ignorant, prideful and confused. My God knows more than any other God there ever was including your God because my God understand that humans do not hold a brain wise enough or capable enough to understand all the complications there are associated with life.

My God said He loves me. He said I should stay away from anyone who tries to tell me otherwise because they don't love me.

You do not love me no matter how hard you try to prove that you do. Jesus does not love me no matter how hard you try to prove that he does, because if he really did love me, then he would accept that I love my God and I will not trade in my God for something that you call god which in your mind may be to you, but that God is not mine.

Leave me alone. My truths are mine, not yours, I don't accept you, you do not have to accept me.

Amen.

Nice; you have an idol in your head - that's okay, because you've created your god - you can't read any of that in the Bible or any religious book. Sandra; you were sharp in my book but you need some understanding. No one loves you unconditionally.

No matter how how the bird flies; when he wants to eat he has to come back to ground. So, fly high, live well; TALK BIG, but when you ready for some understanding I'll be here when you get back...if I don't be here that's to your detriment not mine.

The God of the Bible will bring a great tribulation on people like you; and have the satanic catholic church beat you down; then you'll see how loving your God is (unconditionally). Peace and knowledge be sent to you...in Jesus name.

Whatever, my God is good, yours all suck.  That is all I have to say.  I don't believe in the tribulation.  I think it is a bunch of crap.  I don't like  that you can say people like me when it is people like you who have sent me running in the other direction because you make me feel bad, not God.

God does love and I don't care what you say.  God loves me unconditionally because I believe I am good and I do not have to follow your beliefs to be loved by my God just as I do not have to do exactly everything my mother says to have her love unconditionally.

Your all wacked for believing that God is mean.  God is not mean.  Satan is, so you do the math.

By the way, having an idol or image in my head would involve some sort of "image' or picture and my God doesn't ok.

I don't worship a dead guy on a cross. My God does not have any form, my God is the thing that gave us life in the first place.

I don't care for you nonsense about evolution not being a part of Gods plan because clearly it was.

I don't care that you think I will never live again. Guess what, I don't care if this is the only life I get because guess what...

Being involved in the life I live know, which we all do, is more important than the one I may not even get. ok.

Whenever someone says to me that it is about Heaven and being by God and a perfect life. I say we can have that here and now because we are in it yet you and your clans of relgious zealots decide that what you do not have is better.

Get a clue. Those things are not promised to you no matter how much you want to believe that Jesus can give them to you because your actions and words speak two different things and now I do not believe you.

We should consider that God has created man with a mind capable of instruction, and a faculty which may be enlarged in proportion to the heed and diligence given to the light communicated from heaven to the intellect; and that the nearer man approaches perfection, the clearer are his views, and the greater his enjoyments, till he has overcome all evils of his life and lost every desire for sin; and like the ancients, arrives at the point of faith where he is wrapped in the power and glory of his maker, and is caught up to dwell with him. But we consider that this is a station which no man has ever arrived in a moment.

Jesus came to tell us that there is eternal life, a life with God that we were destined to recieve if we choose to do so.  Free will is the choice to recieve the gift of eternal life.  however, what many do not ever get, and what is revealed in rebirth, is that there is good and evil.  There is not something in between good and evil, it is one or the other and we must choose.  There is a war raging under the surface of this "fleshly" world.  Our little brains can't handle the truth until we are ready to accept that truth...hence free will.  Imagine if you were shown that all we know on earth is a byproduct of a spriritual realm by which all other things must answer to...what would you do?  Would you fight the truth or submit to it?  If you have to decide on good or evil, which would you choose?  You cannot have it both ways.  It seems to me that talk of Christianity seems to get side tracked all the time, when it is really about deciding whether or not you believe in the Gospel.  Did Christ in fact come to earth as a savior of mankind?  I believe he did, and once that belief is in you, truly in your heart by virtue of admitting we all sin and can't stop on our own, He will change your life.  Once you are spiritually reborn, you will be shown the truth in a way only you can understand, a very personal way, and in so doing the truth will set you free.  The kicker is the sanctification once the truth has been accepted. The journey of discovery of how bad we really are. That takes the rest of your life. The Gospel tells us not to worry about the "law", but to change our hearts...so debate is the logical result...debate all you want as that is part of the process...its all a process once you accept the truth...Love reading your posts...God be with you.

Sandra,

First I want to say thank you for putting in to words what I have always felt. I was raised by a pastor and was dragged to church every sunday until I was 18, and to this day I never felt like the whole mythos around Christianity was right. The bible WAS written by men, not God, and Jesus is his son, but not him. Having someone else tell me how I should recognize God in my own life has always rubbed me the wrong way. One thing I am thankful for is my mother, who taught me that being a good person and living your life the way God would want is ten times more important that being a "good Christian." I do what I can for others when I can, and I find my peace and spiritual serenity in God's creations, not in Christianity's eidolic temples. Thank you again.

I agree with your monotheistic view of God. Most of the Bible is essentially stories. It can't be considered God's law because it states NOWHERE in the Bible that it is actually the law of God. Furthermore, why on earth would God write a book that contradicts itself?

I can't convince you of my religious beliefs so I won't go into detail on them. However, I do agree that the "Christianity' that is practiced around the world is probably a mixture of various parts of Unitarian Christianity (the only true form of Christianity) and the ancient Roman state religion. It masquerades as God's word but in fact is demonology. Why do your nutjob Xtians (meaning any Christian who follows a non-theistic view of God) always tell people "you have salvation by faith in Jesus Christ"? Meaning...do whatever you want and there is no punishment if you have faith in Jesus. You could commit genocide and go to heaven under that code. Why advocate for marriage laws or morality?

Just an example.

The whole purpoase of Jesus' sacrifice was to give us his righteousness so that we would be made the righteousness of God. It is a total gift and nothing we can do to get it and nothing we can do to lose it. That is the whole of Paul's revelation on the road to Damascus.

The bible was collected into a written work after being spread word of mouth for centuries. It's hard to keep a work pure from emblishment if spread word of mouth especially for that length of time. On the other hand, maybe some of the rules were mean't for that period of time and the circumstance then and simply don't apply now. It's hard to say, none of us knows it all.

Good point, Writer Rider. It was also mistranslated from the original Greek.

Like Mistyhorizon, I feel closer to God when I am walking up a mountain than standing in a church. How you live your life is more important than strict dogma. I like the old Celtic Christianity, which was open and fluid, worshipping alongside the druids instead of trying to forcibly convert them.

I once read a book called, "Lord Save Us From Your Followers". The man who made the book went around public areas in a bumper sticker suit, and asked all kinds of questions about faith, religion, Jesus, etc... He came to the conclusion that many people may have respected Jesus, but few respected those that claimed to follow Jesus because they simply did not act like Him.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, I would like to apologize, if I may, to you for any hurt that "Christians" may have caused you. I do not believe this was Jesus' intent, nor should it be ours.

WOW! That was intense. I guess that's a good way of venting, maybe I'll try it to one day. Well you know when Moses came down from mount Sinai after receiving the 10 commandments from God, he lost his temper too. He saw The Israelites worshiping idols after God just delivered them from Egypt, and became so angry with their irrational behavior that he threw down the 10 commandments and they broke. And God punished him for loosing his temper with God's people. So even Moses lost his temper, but it still displeased God. The funny thing about it is before I came to God, I was very wicked and it's a miracle I'm not dead or in jail. And at that time if anyone crossed me, they were done. Now that I'm striving for a higher ideal, people feel they can test me. I hate to say it, but unfortunately most of time it's Christians. But you have to stay focused and let no one take your crown. Finally, by God's grace I overcame most of my carnal weaknesses. Not only is your faith tried but also your love is tried. It's part of the package. Ishmael the son of Abraham was born according to the flesh. But Issac was born according to the spirit. The children of the flesh will persecute those who are striving for a higher ideal. Ishmael represents carnal Christians. It's not by our own strength that we walk in love it's with God's help and strength. It's easy to walk in love if no one is attacking you and you are living in compromise. But when you take a stand for something it takes the anointing to sustain you. I pray that you do not give up on God's people.

sandra rinck  says:

Well thank you for that Loan Consultant. I have come a long way since I wrote this. It was about a year and half ago and I know exactly what you mean when you say that most of the time we are tried by our own people and so when I wrote this I was upset but...

Since then and most recently I came to a new understand, that even though I feel tempted to correct everything "I" don't like about how God's people react to each other, I know that there is something else that came between us.

Call it Satan if you will. lol but because I have been reminding myself of this I turned my attention not to being angry with God's people but to giving more love instead.

And of course, in my actions I was one that I was against as well which didn't make any sense so now, while I have a different approach to what God wants of use I chose to look for the love in everything instead of the flaws in things. It makes more sense to me and really makes a lot happier.

But on the same token, when I see that someone just plains does things out of hate, I will always defend God's people because where the Spirit is, is also where my heart is.

Oh, I have a forum where you can talk all day about scripture if you would like. It is new and I was actually thinking of you when I put it up because I saw what went on in the forum here.

I just put it up today so there isn't anyone on it yet but I think that it will eventually so bring people with ya too! I will be there from now on to talk about scripture and stuff.

When everyone is ready to give up merely talking about religion and instead experience the fullness and love that is just waiting nearby, it won't matter what religion you are or reading all the books about how to.  Love just is.  It is not in the words you read, nor on how loudly or fiercely proclaimed in a church.  A church where people line up in rows and sing and recite but are not moved enough to mix with their neighbors.  What we don't understand is that the building is not the church but lies within the church of our hearts, which most of us still seek.

How hard youth seeks for answers, yet stand closer to the apex of God than any of the preachers with their fine clothes and gilded tongues. If only there were more like the young, real believers in the simple truths that are the gardens and trees and the animals, and people evderywhere, a commitment to truth and honor and the faith that leads to grace. People have lost the ability to forgive, thereby sealing their own fate to be forever unhappy-and unforgiven.

It is not the sin that is so horrible, but the denial of forgiveness for the sin that creates the distance between people, and God.  Forgive yourself.  Give out peace wherever you can; it starts with being kind to yourself.

Thank you to those who posted.

Greg Muhs  says:

Sorry, the web site posted before I even had a chance to write anything. I read all the way through your post. I have a few comments to make. In John 20:28, Jesus is worshipped as God, and He not only allows it, but He blesses the man for worshipping Him. Also, in Matthew 28 He is worshipped twice, and allows it. Any other time someone who is a servant of God is worshipped, the servant tells the worshiper NOT to worship him. Jesus does the very opposite and encourages His worship.

I mean no disrespect in any way, but I will pray that the One True God will fill your heart, and fill your life with overabundance, and that any god that you create even without knowing it will be shown to be false. Pray the same for me if you will, and I will appreciate it.

Hi Gregory.

I wrote this a while ago and I have changed my heart and mind since then. While some of the things are still discouraging because some churches and people do this...

I have come to know Jesus better and know Him as God and devople that faith that says, "you know what, even if He isn't I know it will be okay because it is Jesus and God asked that we trust Him, and believe in Him etc."

And because I do need to feel assured about God and His goodness, I know there isn't anyone better than Jesus. I know Jesus said that no one is good but God and to worship God, I also realize that Jesus has a bigger duty than I can possibly understand and so I just listen to Him and what is good and when something is bad then I know it is not God.

Plus while reading from the Qu'ran it said that those who follow Jesus are closest to God and where ever I go where Jesus is they all say in other words... if in doubt just believe in Jesus and it will be okay.

So, my friend, I also pray the same for you. Lets not worry so much about the worship this and don't worship that etc... if it is good then you know it is God, when in doubt ask Jesus and just believe or have faith that Jesus wouldn't ever allow for us who Love God to fall.

That God said Jesus is the way, follow Him and just be happy, be faithful be reassured and since I have taken my giant leap of faith and just said, you know what? Looking in every corner, under every whole, in every crevace looking for truth I managed to skip the most obvious one. Jesus.

And Jesus does fill me with happiness because I can just let go of all that other stuff and I did my searching and I did my suffering and I grew too tired of looking and it was Jesus who said.

How is it that you can believe in what you cannot see but not believe in the things that are right in front of your face?

So I put my faith in God in the name of Jesus Christ and let it be.

God bless you. :)

This has touched me, in a profound way. I grew up in the church and 5 years ago, I gave up christianlty for judiasm. Christians are by far the worst group of people i have had the displeasure of encountering. They constantly push their views on people and condemn other to hell, when they have no clue of what they're talking about. Not only is Jesus God's son, but so are all of us. Even in scripture, God has called us daughter or son. Jesus called us brothers and sisters. Most christians are complete fools that will be so surprised when they die and see others in heaven, if they even go, considering they are breaking one of God's most sacred commandments, which is worship no other God's before me. I hate the fact that they force their way into our homes on Sunday through their broadcasts and TV commercials. You dont see any other religion do that. When they come into my space asking me if I am saved, I cringe and say saved from what? Tell them you are a Jew and a African American one at that and they look at you like you have two heads(yes there are some Black Jews). Do me a favor christians and please go away

Jim  says:

I can't really say I hate Christians because one of my best friends is born again. She is one of the nicest people I've ever known. BUT, my experience with Christianity and their beliefs simply did not prove true in a very important way and at a critical time in my life when I truly believed in god. They said praying and begging god to change me (when I was between 8-16 years of age) would help and it did absolutely nothing. I got nothing and finally decided it was totally untrue. Now my born again friend was at her wits end at trying to control the lives of everyone in her family...until she became born again and was able to let that go (and let her have some peace of mind finally). I admire her for finding something that helped her. It just didn't do a darn thing for me. I'm not mentioning the problem because I don't want to hijack this wonderful thread of yours.

Well Jim, perhaps you didn't even feel good enough to recieve the change you wanted and so denied it without even knowing it.

Being humble is a good quality, but to not take what is offered is too prideful and self denial, or denial of self help is also prideful no matter how aweful you feel.

I mean, someone said to me once. If someone offers you something, then take it. You might not need it, but you can always find a use for it. Even if only to make the person who offered it to you happy in that thier gift to you was good enough for you to accept.

Wow, sorry it took me so long to get to this hub!  This is outstanding.  My most favorite quote especially when it comes to christians "Dear Lord, Please protect me from your followers." Although I don't believe in god or Yeshua the annoited one i.e. Jesus Christ. I read the bible and about everything involving religions.  I laugh when I get comments or people say I'll pray for you in Jesus' name. 1st commandment.  Being raised in Catholic school and then joining different churchs, leading FCA at UT I was warped into the wrong beliefs.  Being a geophysics major at UT the math soon didn't add up.  I started studying and researching more.  Looking into the heart of the matter so to speak.  My first step was discovering what you have.  I have never felt more free since I changed my ways.  Yes, I still read the bible at least 2-3 days a week along with many other religious texts.  "Know thy enemy"  I have no problem w/ people who believe and I feel happy for them if they are happy.  As long as they don't throw it in my face or start preaching to me.  It actually upsets Christians or any other denomination when they realize I read the bible more then them and know it better.  Stay on your path and follow YOUR beliefs.  Have a wonderful memorial weekend.

Jesus the Son of God came so those whom the Father has given Him could have an eternal relationship with the Father through the Son. The Bible is a guideline for those who surrender to the Father, to live a life more abundantly in everything; in up and downs.

It really is that simple. Be led by the Fathers Spirit and He will never leave you and He will guide you into all truth. He created you, He purchased you back from eternal death and HE Loves you. Surrender and prepare your heart.

I am serving as a Pastor here in Arifwala city and surrounding village areas from last 5 years. From last 2 years we are running an awesome project called Bible village reader. Under this project we are training young Christian boys and girls as future leaders of Christian community. We are training them how to read URDU Bible Clear and laud to their families and communities. Till now we have 15 young students those are under training. We are printing Bible tracts and distributing them to the lost people and distributing Free Urdu Bibles to the deserving people those have none. You will be surprised to know that here in our areas even believers don’t have bible copies at their homes to study; they have to wait till Sunday to hear the word of God. So our Church tries our best to bless these deserving people with the Bible copies. We are trying to reach out as many souls we can with the word of God. Please always remember us in your prayers. We will appreciate your Love and prayers.I really lke your wonderfull work that you are doing i want to work with you i can do translation englsih to urdu and punjabi so that herein paksitan chrsitian people may read them and grow in their faith. it will be a wonderfull blessing for all of us. i am looking forward for you kind response, GBU

Sandra,

I am not sure what to write except that I completely understand your pain. I am struggling to make sense of Christianity myself because of all the pain that it has brought me. I keep trying to make it work, but I just keep getting hurt by its people and its teachings. I don't know where my journey will lead me, but I am glad that you are speaking out and standing up for what is right.

Sandra,

I very much enjoyed reading your post and the resulting comments.

I am glad you are so willing to be vocal about exactly how you feel. Many Christians need to hear it.

I am very thankful that you have since accepted Jesus as God.

I will leave you with mantra I have tried to live by in my decade of Christianity:

LOVE GOD, LOVE PEOPLE.

It's really that simple.

Blessings,

Leslie

ColdWarBaby is absolutely incorrect; as Christians, we do not wish death upon anyone. If he was to research the Bible he would be able to accurately reflect is values and postion but we do not condone killing people.

Tackle this if you can: I am a Christian and proud to be an "Evil right-wing extremist. After all, we are responsible for most of the violent crime in America. I am facetious and the "left" seldom, if ever, brings any meaningful numbers to any given argument.

Sandra this hub is amazing. I'm not even sure that all who read it fully understand what you meant but I do. I feel the same way at times. So many churches or church leaders lead their members to believe that Christians are better than everyone else. This is so not true. As a firm believer in God I KNOW I am no better than the next person. I get my inspiration from God and his word. The Bible teaches me that I am a mist that is here today and gone tomorrow. I can accept that. I wish more churches would get back to teaching the Bible and going on it's words than teaching what they want their members to know from it.

Again... a great hub

Thanks, it seems you probably do know what I am talking about. I think, good for you for not trying to be, or claiming to be better than anyone else.

I do believe in a Universal Brotherhood and that all humans belong to one giant family no matter how smart, dumb, pretty, ugly etc... we are and it makes the world of difference to me.

Thanks for reading and thanks for being a good person.

There is ONLY one GOD and his name is spoken in Psalms 83:18. Jesus is NOT God, he is the son of GOD as it states in the Bible. The bible is not MANS interpretation, but yet "all Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."—2 Timothy 3:16, 17.

And the Bible is NOT all written about Jesus, in fact the majority of the Bible was written way before Jesus was born.

And furthermore, A true Christian doesn't instill an unhealthy fear into others or tries to force their beliefs onto others, but instead they reach out to HELP others to draw closer to GOD and only if they WANT to know more and learn more, then the TRUE CHRISTIANS will be there to help. Anyone who claims to be a christian and does not follow the bibles commandments or the fruitages of the spirit and are judging others (despite the fact Jesus specifically stated that is wrong) are misrepresenting themselves in front of GOD.

There is way too much False Religion in the world that is misleading sincere and honest people, but as it states in Revelations the time is near when GOD will take care of this trickery and destroy false religion....I hope you are able to find the information you need in life to fill your faith....

I can agree with most of your sentiments. My faith is filled with knowledge of being a good person, helping people, showing love in the things that I do, allowing myself to not be disheartened when things go wrong.

It's filled by understanding that no one person, religion, government, group or even family has Gods power over, this sets me free from all the prison b.s that has consumed my spirit for years and years.

Ultimately, it was not until I let go of being someones puppet and allowing myself to acknowledge myself as a decent, loving, gentle, kind, accepting, compassionate, forgiving and open person, that I was able to look past these misguided principles currently being preached.

In other words, I became the lost sheep which is where I would rather be. Because it is here that there isn't anything that comes between me and my "maker".

I also don't believe that Jesus is actually God, nor do I even believe that God a supernatural human or anything of the sort. However, when I say "maker", it is in reference to whatever IT is and I do believe that whatever IT is, is and always was something that humans naturally know or feel, or understand.

In such a way that the first commandment really (to me) means, believe what you believed when you were a child, because it was then that you really knew.

Revelation says, "remember what it was that you first loved".

And so now I do with great consciousness protect myself from things that seek distract me from what was with me at birth and will be with me in death.

Hope I didn't offend you. I am sure you are a great Christain, as I do know a few and these few are those who always help me when I need, will drop what they are doing (so it seems) and make time to console me and also help me see that there is more to the Bible then indoctrination but like you said. It is in many a way to help make decisions and see through the b.s.

Like King Solomen the Wise, who tested the two woman with the child... Because a mother/father would give up their child before they would allow their child to be hurt. This is the nature of Jesus. (in my opinion of course)

My gosh. If what people write bothers everyone so badly then why read it? Just ignore it. Has everyone forgot how to IGNORE? I need to ignore more and read more, and write more. So, that's what I'M going to do. Yall be good, and take care of EACH OTHER. You all stop this mess and get to writing, reading and commenting, NICELY, I hope. If not, I think a spanking or a time out (which ever you all like, might be in order).

Sandra, I did not realize you felt this way about God , I believed based on your comments on another hub that you had turned your back on him but this hub was written a long time ago, my questions is do yo still believe in God? In any case this is quite a profund hub that is rising from the ashes, I know based on the forums recently that people are placing Jesus and God as one which is not true and it can be frustrating. I believe that God is God and Jesus is the Son of God , I do not believe that they are one in the same and that is explained completely in 'The Trinity' but many seem to interpret it incorrectly. I have and will always respect others beliefs regardless if they believe or not however I will also defend the God that I believe in because that is what I should do. You are a great person and sometimes we get caught up in a mix of things that neither one of us can explain, but I do have to agree that you and I love people for who they are and are both tired of being pulled back and forth like Gumby. This was a great hub written by a great person. :)

Hi AEvans, yes I do. I think I am a lot like you and while everyone points it out often... the 'struggle' seems to come from 'who' or 'what' god is or isn't.

Sometimes I feel a little guilty when being so bold in some of the comments I have made and have since the other day chosen to disregard both extreme sides and live right in the middle, it feels better this way because like you (and I have always known this about you since the first time you posted in the forums, I cannot remember exactly what your avatar was but I seem to recall something like a desert and blue sky) that you also love people for who they are not what they believe.

But we do get caught up in it because god is a subject that people are extremely passionate about and I am tired of trying to make my post and comments as politically correct as possible.

I decided that if I want to say god I will say God and if someone, christian or non christian decides that I am a horrible person over an idea that serves to be helpful to my inner spirit, then they should know they are not doing anyone any favors by battling about who is right and wrong or whether it exist or not.

I cannot even care about that stuff anymore but do what I do best regardless of the mess which is to just love people and I think you are the same.

Thanks AEvans for coming by and learning a little about me.

It is always nice to learn something new about someone although we are sitting behind a keyboard we are all still human our words are not something virtual that the computer creates, the words are from living breathing people who are passionate on both sides about their beliefs. I believe you know that and I am passionate about God and will always defend who I am , but I do that diplomatically without trying to hurt another person's feelings. I knew when I read your words that you were stressed out because you were being pulled in different directions but if you just work on you and find a happy medium you will be just fine. I am glad that I read this as apparently I was supposed to, hang in there. :)

Sandra, I to had a bad experience with so-called Christians in a church. When my ex-husband tried to kill us and ended up in jail, the church told me that as the weaker partner, they were obliged to support him and my children and I should find another church. At that time I was very involved working in the church library and teaching Sunday school. From that day on, I stopped going to church.
