If you didn't know, Joe Mauer is the starting catcher for the Minnesota Twins. Baseball season started in the beginning of April this year, but Mauer's season started in May because he had an injured kidney. This is why I think he is the best player in the MLB. Since his return he is 15th out of all MLB players in hits, 2nd in home runs, 2nd in RBI's (runs batted in), and 1st in batting average. Also Mauer has won 2 of the last 3 batting titles in the AL ( American League). He is the first catcher to ever do that. Along with his great hittting, last year Mauer won himself a gold glove.
