Have you ever noticed that the higher paying jobs are now requesting that you know how to speak Spanish for that top position you are applying for? The reason behind this is the fact that English and Spanish are the two primary languages here in the United States. Its an excellent idea to get ahead of your competition as well for personal use when going out to restaurants or social events. You may have a bet friend in school or at work who speaks Spanish but does not speak English very well and if indeed this is your best friend you want to be able to communicate with him or her better.

I applied many years ago for a telemarketer position in a top paying downtown Chicago company, I had all the experience as far as education wise,was able to perform the necessary duties,had an excellent sales background to back it up but did not get the job because of my not being able to speak Spanish. I totally remember thinking that day, wow that's completely stupid,this company must have some kind of racial thing going,I even thought that I didn't need to speak Spanish because throughout all my education the need for this subject never even once came up. How was I to know that I would need this later on in life when i spend the majority of my time speaking English as do all my friends,family members and associates?

Thinking of all the reasons I didn't need to speak another language brought me to all the reasons I did, and believe it or not it wasn't that hard. My sister was taking a Spanish speaking class in high school which i had found out was not a waste of time as i originally thought. I used to figure she was just taking the classes so she'd have a new way to curse me out or something whenever I would upset her which was very often. That's what big brothers do,picking on the little sisters is sort of a part time job when you're younger, it doesn't stop because you get older or maturer,you just find new ways to do it. I love my Spanish speaking little sister though and have learned many things from her.

Now my little brother on the other hand is in elementary school, he is learning Spanish and french there, Eric just does this for fun though because he like i did believes he's never going to have to use it for anything except to know when someone is making a comment about him so that he will have a twisted response. French is the language of love supposedly, it is very sexy sounding and attracts women like blood hounds, I would love to learn how to speak french but I still feel learning too many different languages will eventually make me forget everything I learned about speaking English from a child to adulthood. My girlfriend says she doesn't want me to learn french because it will get out of hand and she will have to be up to bat with other females,she jokes about this all the time but somehow i believe she is somewhat serious. I'm already sexy so i don't need this problem to further my sexy not just yet, but in the future I will be considering learning how to speak french and have her do it with me so she wont be left out because I also feel that french is one of the most sexy languages in the world.

Many schools are now offering classes in foreign languages which i feel is a great idea because you are learning at a early age so you can only further your progress. These programs being offered are rapidly growing as most extra curricular programs in the school systems tend to fail immediately because not enough kids are taking advantage of them. In china for instance, children there are learning English as a second language because most of China's business revolves around selling and being able to communicate with others of different languages in the trade market. If you are purchasing online from china, I am sure you have noticed how china English varies from our English.

Example:

Scene: I am communicating with a china salesperson online to buy some shoes

Me: I would like to buy 3 pairs of Converse size 10 1/2 the same style,but different colors

china salesperson: We no make same style but offer color exact

An English salesperson would have responded as such

English salesperson: We don't have that style anymore but the color is available in similar styles

This is because the china students are learning English but are not learning how to correctly use English words in sentences as we would use them. Our School system teaches students how to use languages in everyday societies, then you don't sound any different.

I have been reading books,taking courses,getting help from my sister and brother but have came across the best way that works for me. Its called Rocket I've been using it for almost two weeks now and its performing a miracle. In less than eight weeks time I will be somewhat of a pro or very close to it, plus I was even given a free six day course before i decided to join. I was learning how to pronounce things in Spanish such as colors, body parts,food, you know typical everyday things. This was extremely helpful for me because we live in a neighborhood where 85% of the residents speak Spanish, the kids have there friends they play with that teach them several words everyday, but imagine not knowing what your children were running around the house saying, I was definitely not having that. Learning Spanish for me is becoming as simple as tying my shoes, maybe you wont use it in everyday social life, but from time to time when you are in that restaurant trying to find out what those Spanish words are on the menu, you'll be thinking why didn't I learn to speak this language, You might be passing on some excellent dishes just because you didn't know what they were. You cant simply say I'll have what he or she is having all the time,plus this gives you something to do in your spare time that is educational for you and the children. How did you learn to speak Spanish? Was it very difficult or did you find it somewhat fun?
