As a society we have benefited from Liberal ideologies. The Liberal mindset and the notion that there existed people in our past that were willing to stand up for the rights of women and races were key in forming our nation and get us to where we are today. The Liberal ideologies of the past were still Constitutional. As a matter of fact, the Liberal mindset of women's rights and the abolitionist finally nullified our Constitution, "We the People" became a true democracy, and we did that with the voices of past Liberal thinkers.

Traditionally, since that period Conservatism has traditionally upheld the ideologies of the founding fathers. At the time of these important movements Liberals were essentially acting within what should have been the Conservative mindset. I would define Conservatism as any movement towards the ideologies of the Constitution and that of our Founding Fathers. Where I think contemporary Liberals are sliding down a slippery slope towards Communism is within a shift in their key ideologies.Lost somewhere in between making key reformations for our country to the modern day American Liberals they have lost the mindset that we must uphold the ideologies of the Constitution of the United States of America. I think how they stepped onto this slippery platform was with the concept of "equality" and their misinterpretation of how much our Constitution can uphold these concepts of equality.

Karl Marx believed in a system of equality, as did our Founding Fathers. Modern Liberals seem to be taking a view point more consistent with Karl Marx's ideas of equality and shifting away from the ideas of our Constitution. If you read "Manifesto of the Communist Party"by Karl Marx he doesn't sound as if he had any ideologies that would lead to a system of government that would be oppressive to its people. "The modern bourgeois [Capitalist business owner] society that has sprouted from the ruins of feudal society has not done away with class antagonisms. It has but established new classes, new conditions of oppression, new forms of struggle in place of the old ones" (Marx, 1888) Marx saw wage labor or people working for an hourly wage for someone else as oppression. And the emergence of this new Capitalist middle class was just a new form of oppression for the under-priveledged. Marx sought to erase oppression through equality. Communism was based on his ideologies of equality. Erasing Capitalism and the oppression of working for an hourly wage. This is Communism and this is where the United States is heading if we allow the Liberal ideologies, which just as Marx's, sound good in theory but not practical and essentially not Constitutional.

Our country was founded with this principle of Capitalism. And it is an equal system (despite what Marxist believe) because everyone has the same opportunity to make and produce goods. It works on a system of supply and demand. Both the labor and the goods are supplied in this manner. It is a simple concept. But the more it is interfered with the less it works. "We the People" decide which businesses fail or prosper based on how we spend our money. The more we give to "big government" for taxes to further control which businesses fail or succeed the less money we have to make decisions ourselves. The less money we, the working citizens, have to make capitalism work.

The bigger we make our government in order to control our overall decision making the less liberties we have as individuals. Liberal thought has shifted away from individual liberties (such as the right to vote) and now it seems to me is focused on the equality of a society through the deterioration of individual liberties. Furthermore, the Liberals in the United States are focused on equality of mankind Worldwide by deteriorating our rights as United States citizens.  For example, if we view World government as bigger and better than our own we run the risk of losing the power of the very document that secures our individual liberties: the Constitution. And the modern Liberals seem all to comfortable in allowing World government to control our country. If we are to live in a country without Capitalism and without individual rights, we are to live in a Socialist country.  Once we get on the path to Socialism it quickly can lead to a system of Communism. Why?

Liberals right now are fighting to give more money to big government, and big government will control our individual spending, control which businesses fail and succeed, control which doctors you can see and how much they can make, control which businesses are ran by which people, and how much hourly wage earners can make,  Right now our own big government is already being controlled by an even bigger government, that of the World. All of this is not in the future this is already happening.  All of this sounds likes Marxist ideologies are alive and well right here in America. The latter made examples are not within the confines of the Constitution, and certainly do not follow the ideologies of our Founding Fathers, they are the ideologies a Communism.
