Why Same sex marriage is not allowed in the Philippines?
66Philippines is the only Christian dominant country in Asia and it is 3rd in the World. Filipinos valued marriage a lot and respect its meaning and its purpose in the cycle of life. Furthermore Filipinos are applying in their culture the christian virtues and that includes marriage.
Let us know first what is Same Sex Marriage and lets talk about it.
Same-sex marriage is a term they use for a legally or socially recognized marriage between two individuals of the same sex.
While state-sanctioned same-sex marriage is a relatively latest phenomenon in world today, same-sex relationship have been documented throughout time. The first country to legalize same-sex marriage was the Netherlands and that was in 2001. Since then, many countries have followed the suit. The concerns of same-sex marriage regard it as a human right to have the benefits of marriage regardless of sexual orientation, which i could say it is an act that tries to destroy the essence of traditional or real marriage. Even majority of the people in these world are focusing to their civil rights many are still who opposed, often do so for religious or scriptural reasons, defining marriage as the union between a man and a woman only. Civil unions between same-sex couples are recognized in sixteen countries.
If you try to study carefully the definition of Same Sex marriage, it only focus to the Civil concerns of the same-sex couple and have not even tackle on the Family,religion,culture and Moral concerns. These excluded concerns are the factors that should be given importance in marriage. It is the pillar for making a good and healthy marriage. Relying on Civil rights of individuals could not defend a married life of the couple, try to think of a couple with same sex, can they last as married couple for 5 years without cheating each other? How can they make their union into family, they could not raise a child.
In other parts of the world, they are making it Legal! They believe that the Lesbians must be given the rights to have a married life. And guess what happen to these countries, AIDS victims are increasing! Sexual transmitted deseases are spreading around. Because they have the rights to be what they are, then they can do what they want. And because of this Same Sex Merriage, there are many devorces and separation of many same-sex couples. And for the country it turns out a best business for their states economy. Well, I do believe that there are many wonderful and healthy same-sex couples outthere but again, We cannot say if they could keep their relationship last for many years.
The first same-sex union in modern history with government recognition was started in Denmark in 1989.
Civil unions, civil partnership, domestic partnership, unregistered partnership/unregistered co-habitation or registered partnerships offer varying amounts of the benefits of marriage and are available in: Andorra, Australia, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Uruguay. They are also available in some parts of Argentina, Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul), Mexico (Federal District and Coahuila), the U.S. states of California, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, and the District of Columbia (Washington, D.C.). You once it started in one country almost 20 percent of the world are trying to engage same sex marriage.
Majority of these countries are focusing on civil rights of the couple, such as in England that they have laws pertaining to relationship status in the society and all. These things are their programs to maintain the good relationship of the couple. But as what i have explained it is no Guarantee at all that having a strong legal programs can keep a relationship if both of you are having the same sex. It will never be called a Family! Others would adopt a child to have a family. And the next big problem is, how can you explain to your child that you have 2 mothers or 2 fathers. It does really affects the child's moral understanding.
Many lesbians and gays would say that if they are not given the rights to get married with their same sex lovers, they are descriminated or being abandon by their community. And because of their number they could threaten a candidate for the support in the coming election. Thus giving the candidate a substantial reason to find ways to answer the demands of these individuals. Furthermore majority of these individuals are professionals and have contributed a lot in the community that is why, they ask for their civil rights of getting married. But looking deeper to it, they are not abandon or being descriminated, It is just a law in our moral understanding and a law also in the eyes of God, that same sex marriage is an immoral act of defying God's law to marriage.
Filipinos respect Marriage a lot and that is why there is no law pertaining to devorce, but only annullment of marriage, which is very timely and costly before you could have an approval. Making it short, Filipinos are trying to protect every family removing their minds from any doubt of leaving their spouses. Filipinos believe that Love is always around, even when things get tough, rough, or chaotic, love will shine again and grows again. Same sex marriage would trigger to destroy the culture of the filipinos pertaining to Family. And at the end Filipinos would suffer from moral issues in their families, which in the eyes of every filipino family a disaster.

First of, I'm not Christian. So I have no faith in your God. Why should I? Do you even read the bible, the supposed foundation of your belief? The bible says that slavery is acceptable and that the beating of your slave is fine just as long as you don't kill him/her. The bible also says that women are unworthy to talk in the presence of God. A woman is not supposed to pray or even praise 'God' verbally. God also says that we should KILL any child that says disobeys their parents. That means we'd have to kill practically half of all the children in the Philippines. Because of puberty and the emotional discharges caused by eratic hormones, teenagers can't help but blow out at their parents now and then. And of course, God also says that we should kill any homosexuals that does 'the act'. 2. Rachel was fighting for the equal rights of everyone. I am a catholic, but I am well aware that catholics tend to believe that the moral code set by catholocism is the code that the rest of the world should live by. It's not true.
Lyriad, God put humans on this earth with free will. Humans have the power to make their own choices.
God did not leave the judgement of other people up to humans -- that's his job. As a christian, you can certainly disagree with homosexual relations, but you cannot try and impose your own will on everyone else. Let everyone else have the free will they were granted. Not everyone believes what we christians believe, and we can't expect the entire world to align with us. Just worry about your own faith, and your family's.
Always remember that as a christian, it is not your job to punish and condemn those who break God's laws. It is simply your job to follow his laws.

ikaanim, kung ayon kay Webster ang marriage ay nangangahulugang pagsanib ng lalake at babae para bumuo o makabuo ng isang pamilya, hindi ba ang 'wika' ay dinamiko? nagbabago ang kahulugan ng mga salita dahil ang bawat bagay ay nagbabago sa paglipas ng panahon. wala tayong mapapanghawakang bagay habang buhay, maging ang ating sarili ay nagbabago.
at kung sa pagtingin ko sa mismong usapin, malinaw naman ang pagsang-ayon ko sa same sex marriage. sa aking pananaw, ang isyung ito ay may dalawang mayor na sangay: relasyong mag-asawa at pagbuo ng pamilya
kung sa usaping pagbuo ng pamilya, hindi naman maikakahon sa pagkakaroon ng biolohikal na 'nanay' at 'tatay' para lumaking maunlad at kapakipakinabang sa lipunan ang isang kabataan. higit na mahalaga ang pagiging bukas at masaklaw na pagtingin sa lipunan ng isang kabataan kaysa tumango na lang at nakayukong sumusunod sa utos ng mas matanda sa kanila. hindi ko sinasabing mabuti ang pagsuway. ang punto ko ay dapat magkaroon ng sarili at malayang pagpapasya ang kabataan. hindi hiwalay ang usaping ito dahil hindi naman pangmatanda lang ang nakalatag na usapin. ang kabataan pa nga ang higit na tinatamaan ng usapin dahil sa panahong ito sila mas maraming dapat pagpasyahan, kasama na ang pakikipagrelasyon at pagbuo ng pamilya. bilang kabataan at bahagi ng lipunan, dapat maging mapanuri at kritiko sa bawat bagay na nakapaligid lalo na sa mga nilikha ng lipunan.
kung maitatanong niyo naman ang paniniwala ko sa 'Diyos' at relihiyon, ang pagkakakilala ko sa 'Diyos' ay mapagpalaya, mapagmahal, walang kasarian at patas.
hindi ako nagpapakahon sa itinakdang limitasyon ng relihiyon sa kung ano ang dapat na paniwalaan at ipamuhay.
meron mang itinakdang mga utos ang 'Diyos', hindi kasama dito ang magpatali sa lahat ng utos ng simbahan.

I'm not for same sex marriage to be honest but this I can say:People will live the way they want to live. You have the freedom to do whatever you want as long as it follows the social moral norms like killing and all that jazz. If you want to get married to the same sex, go ahead, just not in the Philippines because they don't allow it; as simple as that.
