In the Filipino language, the word for teasing is pang-aakit. There are other Filipino words more biting or distasteful to some but I digress. Through code switching, the title could also be Why Women Flirt but this is not to affront women. This hub is simply a collection of observations and could also serve as a guide.

Experts say that women flirt to to those who obviously stare at them. This is a process of sending a message that a woman likes a guy or he is her type. At certain circumstances, this is an indication that she wants to have sex with the chosen male. But not all teasing or flirtation leads to bed.

Women flirt because of some reasons:

• They want to have the guy they fantasize.
• They want to prove that they have the potential to attract men.
• They want to show that they are more beautiful or more hot than the wife or the partner.
• They want to succeed in their chosen career through flirting with a particular boss.
  
• They want to get what they want the easiest way.
• They want to have money or things they cannot afford for themselves.
• They want to cure boredom.
• They want to try new things.

And for other women, the reasons are more troubling, and sad:

• They want attention.
• They are sick with nymphomania.
• They have mental illnesses.
• They want to get even from a bad experience.

Whatever reason, men are most likely to succumb without an inkling to the true motives of flirting women. Well, there is nothing to loose for them.

It is not unlikely to see a girl smile at a boy if that is categorized as flirting. But it is contrary to all reasonable expectations to see a married woman to flirt with any man.

The old Filipino culture, according to the old, does not require women to be bold in saying or showing what they feel towards men. It must be that today's blatant showmanship of a Filipino woman's desire through flirtation is a result of suppression. It can also be influenced by other cultures.

Whatever the reason, women should not forget that they have a responsibility to the society and to themselves. This is the social responsibility that women have to do things without inflicting harm, damage or wreckage to others. Flirtation can be a normal process, even with the kingdom fauna, but we are more than animals, and we have the capacity to know what is right from wrong.
