If you are one of the people out there that has not yet tried the delicious brew produced by a French press, then please do not let this problem remain. The French press is actually an amazing coffee brewing mechanism that is overlooked by so many coffee drinkers. As we are journeying through our love of coffee together, I know that you too are becoming more and more interested in all that the many varieties and brewing styles that coffee has to offer. They're actually many inexpensive French presses available that will give you a spectacular coffee product, but you just have to know what to look for.

When you're looking to grind coffee for your French press (and yes, you definitely do need to use fresh ground coffee beans), then make sure that you are using a coarse grind. After that point, the results of your perfect cup of Joe are in your hands. When you're using a regular drip brewed coffee maker, then the temperature of the coffee is handled for you within the machine. When you're using a French press, you are the one that actually needs to determine the temperature of your water you bring your coffee. I do caution you not to use boiling water because that will burn the coffee. Another great feature of the French press is that you are in control of how long your coffee grounds are steeping in the hot water. For most average sized French presses, the steep time is around four minutes, but it can be two minutes for a smaller press. Another way that a French press stands out above a drip brew coffee maker is that there is actually no use of a filter to take away the aromatic essential oils that come from a freshly ground coffee bean. That is what actually will give you the decadent and robust flavor that you are looking for so that your coffee will have a much more sophisticated flavor profile when you are steeping the grounds within the French press and not using a common filtered method.

The essential oils are completely vital in enhancing your coffee's flavor profile, and when you're using a French press, the oils and flavors will make it directly into your cup. Make sure that you heat your water thoroughly, and then pour it into your French press that already is containing fresh ground coffee. Stir the grounds quickly to distribute them, and then place the lid of your French press on so that it can steep for four minutes, or to your preference. After that, you will gently plunge the grounds to the bottom of the French press, but be careful to do this evenly so that you do not accidentally strain grounds into your final coffee product. From there, you can pour yourself a steaming and delicious cup of premium coffee that has an unprecedented flavor profile unlike like any you have ever tasted before. The whole point is that you are no longer filtering out the flavor that you have been missing for so long. Bravo!
