Why Your Teen Shot Up The School.

Another day, another school shooting. It seems you can turn on CNN and find one somewhere in this crazy world. But why? Why would a normal teen turn into John Rambo and light up a bunch of defenseless teens? In this hub I will tell you.

For those of you who don't me, I am smart. Smart like a scientist. I would even say I am the smartest person I know. That's saying a lot too because I know a whole mess of people. So believe me when I say that everything in this hub is fact.

There is only one thing to blame for these school shootings. Before I go into what that is, let me explain the things that are not to blame.

Teasing/Bullying. Teasing and bullying are not to blame for little Billy going postal. Sure he was probably picked on and made fun of tons of times. So were you. And you. And you. Hell, we are all wannabe writers. We are imaginative and creative. We exude excellence. We were also all pretty much nerds. Did we go all Sharon Stone and kill people with ice picks? I think not. Did we want sweet revenge? Yes. How did we get said revenge? By using our God given talent and going to college and making ourselves better so when we got to our 10 year reunion we were the coolest mother f'ers ever. Booya!

Video Games: Video games are not to blame. I play the shit out of Grand Theft Auto 4. I mean I really play the crap out of it. But again, being educated, I know reality from fantasy. So does the kid with the uzi sitting behind your daughter. That kid knows there is no turning back and there is no way in hell he has an extra life or a cheat code to get him out of the mess he is about to partake in.

Movies/Television: I would go out on a limb and say that movies in the 80's and 90's were ten times more violent than what is on now. I mean Schwarzenneger used to really blow shit up. There isn't any of that now. Sure you got Jack Bauer and his magnificent Jack Sack messing up terrorists, but that is nowhere near Arnold or Stallone.

Drugs: The average teenager has access to four drugs. Weed, alcohol, coke, and ecstacy. Weed makes you like people, booze makes you too drowzy and retarded to aim, coke gets you all hyper to the point you just want to go out and have fun, and ecstacy makes you want to dance. So there goes that idea. Prescription drugs for bipolar and depression is a solid argument, but really if that kid is on those drugs, he is already seeing someone for his brain.

So is the kid naturally psycho? Does he talk to his dead mother from the magnificent view of his house to the hotel? Nope. Here is why kids shoot up schools....wait for it.....wait for it......Parents.

Parents of these dilinquent bastards are to blame. They didn't smack around the kid enough. The kids don't fear the words, "Wait until your dad gets home." If you ever notice, the parents are always the stupid morons who say video games and television and blah blah blah are to blame when they never look into the freaking mirror to see what a shitty job they did raising Hannibal. When little Jimmy was outside planning his massacre, where were the parents? Watching Bill O'reilly and condemning everyone else. They were yelling at each other, they were too busy to realize they had a kid, or didn't think the kid was half bad when they should have been teaching him that video games and movies are fiction, that drugs are bad, and that shooting a bunch of kids is wrong.

We as a society need to blame the parents EVERY time something like this happens. The parents should get locked up for raising a monster. Let's stop blaming Xanax or Resident Evil or the Jonas Brothers and blame the freaking parents!! It's simple!

Disclaimer: If the kid blames the Jonas Brothers, I would listen....he may have been on to something.

Excellent article, I agree with you. Parents should be made more responsible. hey, maybe they should be damages to the family of the kids killed!

Amy, I will accept you only because I fear for my koolaid. Ecto cooler used to be my favorite flavor btw. Whatever happened to that?

Cindy I absolutely 100 percent agree with you. The parents of the slain kids in these events should be able to sue the hell out of the parents of the crazy kids.

Well I agree that parents can be, and in some cases probably are the source of the problem. But, let's not forget there are many kids with bad family situations that do not shoot up schools... I think the problem is elsewhere.

Tim, I agree with you to a point. However, there are some kids who are mentally ill and it just hasn't manifested itself to the point where parents might see it. Psychopaths can be very crafty in hiding who they are. Many also know how to work others for their advantage, knowing just what to say and how to act. I used to work with schizophrenic young adults and I do know what I am talking about. It is not all about discipline, except maybe some are getting too much, while you are right that some do not get enough. However, I am sure that a few of those parents were the best that anyone could hope for. Please don't put that on them because their children just happen to be mentally ill.

Good point Connie and I salute you in your efforts. However, these mentally ill psychopaths should be in an institution getting help from you. I don't recall any of the Columbine shooters or Northwestern IL shooters claiming they were mentally ill. I remember them building pipe bombs in their garage thirty feet away from their parents.

Are you a parent?? A teen parent? I see your analysis and the question stays with me. Because it does not have the insite of peson who knows what it takes to see the torment of a teenager in this day and age. But otherwise a good article
