Sarah Palin is back in the spotlight -- right where she wants to be. And I hesitate to make any comment about her, because it just seems to encourage her. She's like the four year child at the grown-up party who won't go to bed and keeps jumping off the couch for everyone to clap. "Look at me!" "Look at me!" "I'm really brave!" "I'm going to play at the White house!" Let's not humor her anymore.

Palin is now complaining that she didn't get fair treatment by the "liberal media" and that she was exploited. First of all, when did the media become liberal? Doesn't Rupert Murdock still own everything? And don't we still have Fox news? My husband and brother-in-law got into a fight once because my husband said that Fox news was less legitimate news than the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. And all the talk radios (except two) are so far right wing that's all they are -- is wing. There's not even any meat to them, no thigh. They're just the grisly, bony, wing. Eat up America!

But back to Palin. She claims that Caroline Kennedy is being treated better in her bid for the Senate. No, Palin. Kennedy just knows the answers to the questions so there's nothing to make fun of. Kennedy doesn't do the deer in the headlights look when Katie Couric asks what newspapers she reads. And Kennedy doesn't have to "get Mavericky" or switch the coversation to talking about Alaska -- because it's the one thing she knows about. Caroline Kennedy actually went to law school. Law school.

And Palin even had the nerve to say that this was a "class" issue. Class issue! I don't know how she had the nerve to sit there in her $3,000.00 designer suit and peek out from under the bangs of her $1,000.00 hairstyle and talk about class. You might want to talk like a regular gal, but you are dressed like Imelda Marcos. Palin, some free advice -- change out of those clothes before you spread around such crap, you might get some on your Dolce & Gabbanas.

I think for me, the most annoying thing about Sarah Palin isn't that she's an ex-beauty queen. She can't help that she's pretty. It's not that she's so ill-informed. Which she is. Completely. Any third grade teacher at my son's school knows more about foreign policy, and politics in general than Palin (and that's not just a line -- that's true!). And it isn't even that she was chock full of contradictions. "I'm a regular gal, dressed in $150,000. clothes, who travels with a bigger style entourage than Beyonce." Or, "Meet my abstinence only educated daughter, and unwed, pregnant teen, Bristol!" (her choice of baby names along shows how odd she is. "Oh, this is Bristol, and her brother Palmolive, and our baby Soft Scrub with Bleach"). But no, the thing that irked me the most was that she campaigned as being there for women, when she really wasn't.

She kept saying that "women's issues" was just code for "abortion." And there are a lot of issues that women face and struggle with besides abortion. Sarah Palin fooled a lot of women who had been loyal Hillary supporters. But she didn't fool me. And now she is showing her true colors by trying to make things difficult for Caroline Kennedy. Where's the sisterhood now? She could be giving a hand of support and instead she's trying to start a cat fight.

Oh Sarah, why can't you just go away? Go back to Alaska. That's where you belong. Take your "Joe six-pack," "Joe the plumber," and "Josie the Maverick" and go. Leave the rest of the country's politics to people who worry more about the issues than what they're wearing. I think I speak for many of us when I say, we want thinkers in Washington. People who read the newspaper ... and understand what it says.
