There are several thousands of people who make Money on the Internet by Blogging. Comments are the life blood of any Article or Blog. It is something which a normal blogger cannot live without and keeps him going. Here is why comments are important to us.
- It is a proof that we have visitors or people who are interested in what we write. Having some one just anyone to read something I have written is a wonderful feel if you watch your stats but when a comment comes it is much better deep in side, I have started to leave a statement in my blogs asking people to leave nice comments and make a backlink to their own website and I have found it is having a good effect
I really liked that you pointed out that 'Comments let us know that if you are appreciated or not'...In my opinion all feedbacks (good or bad) are good, because it's indicates where you at...and what we can improve...
Great hub!
Thanks for the Comments!
Cindy : You are right. Even a "Mmm, interesting" is a great Motivation.
BG Guest: Yes, It is a wonderful feeling to see comments.
Jolanta : Yes, feedbacks let us know where we stand.
(Sorry, I couldn't resist. As a retired newsman it's a comment I often received when trying to get information out of politicians, businessmen and others.)
Good work.
Hi Anamika, I agree leaving comments is important. Take Care, Jim
Hi Anamika, I like comments a lot! Not just because they help me to judge whether my writing is good enough or needs improving but also because it proves I'm not alone!
My guess is that many of us who write Hubs, blogs, websites etc spend a significant period of time alone. It's wonderful to have proof that other people around the world are doing the same thing.
Excellent points about comments! For me, it means a lot when people comment, even when I don't agree with them. It's a good measure of whether or not I'm reaching my intended audience and have written the hub correctly.
Anamika S., you made some excellent points here! I welcome comments even if they are from a different viewpoint and touch only indirectly on the main point of my article. All comments are valuable, and sometimes they can help point us in a different direction from the one we set out on when writing the article.
Comments are really important whether they agree with you or not. If they disagree, you can try and persuade them, or you may figure out where you have made a mistake and rectify them. Corrections are good for the soul.
Thanks for the Visit! William, my-success-guru, 2patricias, Jerilee Wei, Aya Katz and einron... for supporting my view on comments.
I agree it is wonderful to get comments, but wouldn't want a comment that simply said "mmm interesting" if the person writing it was simply being polite, and didn't really feel that way.
But Misty, I'd want to know you visited.
I've always been quite active with commenting but didn't really realize the relevance. Sometimes, though, I think I get more traffic when I comment articles and blogs outside of hubpages. :) Just sharing.
Anamika..thanks for the great info!I did not realise the importance of commenting!Thank for the cocomment link as well..I checked it out! Thanks.
Nice Article Anamika, I agree with you about leaving comment. Big Hug :)
Oops. I meant it’s a great article.
Hi Anamika,
Some people don't understand why they don't get traffic on their blogs. First, you need to write posts with valuable content and as often as possible, at least 3 times a week. It's a commitment. You want to share something of great interest to you so you always have something to write about.
Then, you don't want to stay all by yourself in the corner. Internet is big. Millions of people use it every day for all kind of things. You want people to see you out there.
So you need to post comments to othe blogs that interest you. They don't have to be about the same thing that you're talking about on your blog. It could be anything you like to talk about.
Experienced bloggers will comment back because they know how important it is to have comments and it's really an exchange.
And I wouldn't recommand comment spamming. Some people have tried it, putting an affiliate link out there and it just annoys everybody. Their comments get deleted anyway!
Have a great day!
Very useful information!
Very useful article....but how do we track useful articles and blog posts by commenting??I will check out the cocomment now....
Did not understand......Is it a forum??
Thanks for the Comments Millie, Christy and titan7585.
Sign up for cocomments and whenever you make a comment it would be recorded in cocomment and you can see them in your cocomment account.
Yes! I totally agree with all the reasons you cited. As a blogger myself, I can't help agreeing about the reasons as I read them one by one. :-)
Hi Alice! Thanks for the visit and nice comment. I loved your baby's photoes.
Hi Anamika,
It's good to get comments which certainly leads to traffic. But, it takes up much time. And what about monetizing, the ultimate goal? A bit of a problem even with many visitors on our blogs and homeages... The recession is only one culprit to blame. Right?
Gabriele
Comments definitely keep me posting because there are some days when you wonder if it's worth continuing, then you get a great comment that lets you and others know someone cares.
i do blogwalking, and give comment to other blog, and the result i got pr1.
Hi Anamika, nice blog!!
Thanks for the Comments Kimmy, troubleshooting computer, gabriele, Versus1.
Interaction and comments are the life blood of social networking for blogs. Without readers our blogs are not alive.
Very true gabriele! Thanks for the Visit.
Hi Anamika, looks like a lot of people think the same way as I do. I think comments are important to hubs, posts, sites,or anything that you put effort into , because it shows the author that people are relating to you... It also shows that there is an appreciation for the time you took into bringing edification to the readers, after all who are we making our sites for? I think it is a wonderful thing when people show repect for your blogging efforts by leaving their thoughts on what they have read or viewed from someone's site.. Much grace and blessing your way... Rev Deb
i like your post....thanks for share it :)
Hi anamika, I think you're cute. Well, anyway, one major reason why we need comments is primarily because it increases our links (this is also one reason why I appreciate it when someone leaves a comment on my blog). second is because, we like our posts to be appreciated by others.
I thought this was a great post. I am one who always leave a comment when I go to a certain blog to read that persons post. It is a way to let that person know that you took the time to read the post and that you either enjoyed, agreed or disagreed with whatever was written. I think it helps the owner.
I think it is good to leave a good comment because it will show that we respect them and appreciate them for providing an information..
I get really bummed when I sit down and write a nice journal entry on my blog and don't get even one comment. I supposedly have 60 followers yet no one replies? I always comment on other people's blogs because I know that like me, they're working hard and to them their blog entry matters. My comment lets them know that it matters too. I also like what you said about commenting positive or negative-I couldn't agree more. I'd love some feedback on my writing, how I can improve, what you'd like me to blog about, etc.
really informative hub,good content.
Comments also give us the opportunity to tie up lose ends. I know sometimes when I post I take for granted that my users are aware of a certain fact and I don't fully explain it. Their comments give me the opportunity to further elaborate when necessary.
Rev Deb,Andritech,ENJIE Canada's Blog,jj-momscashblog,Tilex Andika,Date Girl, simon and Steve for expressing your valuable opinion here.
I have mixed feelings on this topic coz I personally don't agree to your opinion of measuring a "blog being worthy or not based on number of comments".
some posts such as product reviews even though are useful to the visitors there isn't much there in it to comment unlike articles that mention some tips and tricks to follow or some general blogging topics like this one. Moreover not all the visitors who read your posts like to comment and this doesn't mean that your post isn't worth it.. If they liked the post, they may RT it and share it with their followers on twitter, post it on facebook or refer to their friends and they may even subscribe to your posts if they are willing to keep up with your further updates. These and many other are the decisive factors that measures a blogs worth, but not just comments.
Also I feel the comments that come from the search engine traffic are the best ones and should be considered as genuine coz those visitors are the ones who even though don't know/follow you directly, found your blog topic impressive and interesting and left a comment. All the other comments you get from your friends and followers out of your self promotion on twitter, facebook etc., come under "You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" category which I don't think decides the worth of your blog post.
Hey btw these are just my opinions, so if anyone would like to update me on this topic, feel free to reply.
Ramaraobobby..I don't completely agree with you. But You definitely got a point there.By the way thanks for the RT. I appreciate it.

Great hub! I think its important to leave a comment if you visit a hub. Alas, many people just fly by and don't bother to leave a comment. Sometimes, even a simple, "Mmm, interesting," would be nice.
