I have lived with cats all my life so, I know there is nothing worse than finding little gifts all over the floor. Waking up in the middle of the night stepping on the floor and finding your sock a little more moist than it was before.

It is frustrating but, it is something you have to sometimes teach. Although, there are times that all you have to do is bring a new kitten home, fill the litter box and place the cat in it and poffff! Problem solved. Most cats that I have had adhere to doing there business where they should. Not the case with all of them.

Most of the time you have to show them where to go. After each feeding place them in the litter box and take there paws and help them make a scratching motion, this will let them know that this is the best place to use the bathroom.

Cats need privacy to so it's best to put the box in an easy to access but secluded area.

You may need a different kind of litter if you still have problems. Cats have to like the texture of the litter, and most of the time won't use the box if it is dirty.

It is a good practice to clean the litter box regularly and replace old litter with new. Try this method and good luck to you.
