Mozilla Firefox
According to onetstat.com the utilisation of Firefox has climbed up to 11.51 % globally. We'll attempt to determine what has led so much users to change to Firefox.
If we would like to interpret the grounds behind Firefox success we have to come up with the ancestries of the browser.
During, September 2002 the 1st version of the browser was published to the world named Phoenix. The browser was based on Gecko engine from Mozilla Suite. After, a number of releases the name was altered to Firebird but due to a legal conflict it was converted again to Firefox. This
Web browser has obtained a good deal of publicity as an alternate web browser to Internet Explorer.
There are a lot of elements behind Firefox’s success but I believe that the supplied features and the marketing strategy make a whole lot difference in users’ sweeping up the software. A different matter, I prefer to add is that Internet Explorer after winning the battle with Netscape’s web browser was left without any meaning modifications. Naturally, this has changed with the new version of windows named Vista and a new edition of Internet Explorer. I speculate Microsoft is attempting to adjust some skips and glitches in several levels of the web browser.
We're now going to explore the primary features Firefox has at the present moment. One of the primary targets of the developers working in Firefox is raised usability and approachability for the end user. Tabbed browsing, where you load up numerous pages on the same window, is a useful feature in Firefox as it could make your browsing a great deal faster. Also, pop-up blocking annihilates those annoying ads and the user can easily come up with information on a specific page using the ‘find as you type’ feature. The built in search bar includes all the biggest search engines such as Google, Yahoo and so forth. and you are able to add more SEs if you prefer to do so. People working on the approachability of the web browser have managed to make Firefox work with various screen readers, screen magnifiers and on-screen keyboards. These approachability features can assist people with impairments browse the Internet easier than before.
A different characteristic Firefox users like a lot is that they can custom-make easy a lot of facets of the browser. Extensions such as the popular web developer or the Venkman debugger can be added to the browser and heighten the functionality of Firefox. Users, frequently like to have an visual aspect fitting in to their tastes so they use different themes in Firefox. Hence, themes are used to alter the visual appearance of the browser.
Security measures are truly authoritative for end users and corporations. Both, require a secure web browser that they can entrust without the security jams of Internet Explorer and its ActiveX technology. Mozilla Firefox lives up to this necessity primarily by granting the chance for other developers to check the code for security glitches and employing several successful security processes and models such as the sandbox security model. Additionally, the browser could be applied in several dissimilar platforms and the source code is freely available for anybody to compile it and contribute to the project.
We have seen several features that Firefox has but I would like to talk a little bit about the marketing strategy that's used. The development of the web browser is backed by search engines like Google and Yahoo by partnerships and for the most part by the open source community. Mozilla Foundation which is responsible for the developing of the browser considers that community based marketing can be successful. They've demonstrated their point by applying a community based marketing web site called spreadfirefox.com. They were capable to place an ad on New York Times through contributions made by the community of developers and devotees during the release of Firefox 1.0.
The secret behind Firefox’s success is the worthful features usable for the user and the enthusiastic community which helps financially through donations and word spreads.
All by all, after testing a lot of web browser, like internet exporer (which on my computer is very slow and gives alot of bugs), google Chrome and some others, Mozilla Firefox gives me the least problems and actually makes browsing the internet fun and fast.
It is easy to change your browsers look and add ons just by visiting the website and browsing trough the add on dictionary, download it and you have some new cool features. After any new edition of Mozilla Firefox is released, it will be automaticly downloaded to your computer.
Firefox is a fun, free and above all a fast and secure way to brows the internet.
