Why you should eat Protein and Carbs Together

Do you have a protein source will all your snacks and meals? If you do, you'll make the most of the time and energy you're putting into your exercise routine and the results can be great. Why not get the best results with the least amount of effort. It's may be contrary to what you have heard or been taught, but it is very important to balance meals and snacks with protein rich foods along with carbohydrate rich foods. I know so many diets out there tell you that “Carbs Are Bad” Heck I think I have even seen it on a shirt that say’s “Crabs Stink”, but the truth is carbohydrates get a bad rap. A meal comprised solely of carbohydrates and nothing else can be problematic because your glucose levels can spike up and then crash down. This leaves you feeling hungry, tired and weak it also gives your body an easy opportunity to convert those carbohydrates in that meal to fat.
When you include proteins you will stay full longer, and glucose levels stay more consistent, your metabolism will work more efficiently, and you will feel like you have more energy for longer periods of time. When we combine carbohydrates and proteins in a meal the carbohydrates are digested in about two hours, but the proteins take longer to digest. When the two are eaten together, proteins slow down the digestion of the carbohydrates, and energy from the carbohydrates is released slower. This is a positive result. In addition, eating carbohydrates with protein means the carbohydrates will be used for energy, leaving the protein for use in building and repairing muscle tissues. This is the primary function of protein.
If you’re looking for a great source of protein go to the nutrition section of www.FitnessShop.TV. and get some Whey protein or a Meal replacement shakes.
Beachbody only uses the very best protein sources. You can also get them at your local GNC. Just be careful not all proteins are the same. Beachbody goes to great length to get the best available and it is all lab tested.

Mahindra Raj to answer your question a longer digestive process is better. It's the same reason complex carbs are better. Your stomach working to digest your food is burning calories...simple carbs wich are really sugar turn to fat and are stored very easily by your body. So not much work to do to break them down. It just stores it as fat. Also we are talking snacks here or in between meals in this article...And yes I agree 5-6 meals a day 3 of them being healthy snacks of Protein and carbs together. So I think in a lot of ways we agree
I am very confused regarding this matter, carbs and protein shld nt be taken together cz carbs need an alkaline medium for digestion whereas protein need an acid medium.. mixing both together can lead to indigestion and malabsorption of food... please clear it out.... waiting for a reply

Hi, I'm new and know little but would like to share my opinions to this. It has been said that by combining carbs and proteins together you will stay "full" longer and there will linger lasting supply of energy and fuel from the food being digested due to the slowing down of the digestive process.
I can't help but ask the question and invite others to also ask the question: "What are the consequences of a digestive process that takes a longer time?" I believe it is a well known scientific fact that our "digestive process is the highest energy consuming activity even compared to certain exercise activities". If that is true, then I cannot understand how anyone can believe that by keeping your food digesting slower and staying in your stomach and intestines longer, that you will have more energy. If at all, what will be happening is you will feel more tired and lethargic (as people usually do) after meals. That feeling exists because your body is using tons of energy secreting enzymes etc to get food digested.
So perhaps a better solution to having, creating and sustaining high levels of energy should be to eat in a way that promotes efficient, least time consuming energy while eating small regular meals throughout the day rather.
