These are the wii fit games you must have

The wii fit is new, fresh and there haven't been so many games released so far, but I found a few. You will find these down below with a video preview as well as where you can buy them.

Wii fit comes with 4 different types of games. They are strength training, aerobics, yoga and balance games. However they are very basic and soon you will want something more and that's when this site comes to play..

I plan to update this page frequently as more wii fit games are released. Now go ahead and explore the new wii fit games..

EA Sports Active EA Sports Active

EA Sports Active

EA Sports Active is the very popular "get healthy and in shape" game from EA sports. This game is very popular and is believed to be a given bestseller even before it's been released.

The game includes 20 minutes workouts that will both target your upper and lower body. You use the nunchuk, the remote and you can also add your balance board to this game but it's not needed. You can play solo, or you can invite a friend over as company. You can then play the two player co-operate mode.

You will have a personal trainer at your side that will give you hints and feedback as you progress through your individual program.

Another fun thing is that you can start something called the 30 day challenge. It's a tailor made exercise program you will do each day for 30 days. You will be able to track your progress such as BMI, calories burnt, and the intensity of your training throughout the course of the challenge.

You can also build upon the individual exercises in this game. For example if you want to make the exercises a bit harder you can add the resistance band that is included. You will without a doubt sweat more with this game than other similar games.

I'm glad all the overweight people have some options, but what about the under-weight people . . like I'm not gonna take steroids, but I want an option that helps guide me to being closer to a healthy BMI Eventually I'd like to see the "animated wii fit board" remind me of my calorie choices, rather than which friend reciently came over and tried it out. Admittadly I am doing better with the wii fit than without it, and I look forward to all of the time waster games. I guess i'm a little indignant after years of being on the recieving end of the forgotten weight discrimination spectrum.

I am really enjoying my wii fit, it is a nice change and gives me a break from the gym when I do not feel like going. This is what I would like to see: It would be nice to be able to pick multiple strength training activities or yoga positions and be able to work through them instead of stopping every minute and I feel that I am standing around too long between activities. Is this something that I could find in another program or something that might come along?

Laurie  says:

I am enjoying my wii fit,but i wish there was more than the two step aerobics games. When is someone going to come out with a step only wii game? After a while i am sure the one 'step routine' is going to get boring for me.

Sue  says:

I agree with Jillian I realy enjoy my Wii Fit but it would be nice to be able to pick multiple activites and work through them. Or to create using your faviortes and go through a routine with yoga, strength and some aerobics.. I would really enjoy a longer version of the step.. I do at least a 30 minutes of that but you have to stop in between and I wish there was something that was continuous.

Nancy  says:

I do two reps of the advanced step 10 min and then go to free step. I put on my ipod and do an additional 20 mins. You can go faster than the Mii. I've gotten up to 3450 steps in 20 mins! You can definitely work up a sweat. Total workout time is 30 min, I too wish they'd come out with a longer step game.

Recently bought a Wii Fit and love it.  Overall, a good combination of cardio and balance exercises, but is a little "weak" on the strength exercises.  I couldn't believe the console actually suggested doing a tricep extension with the WiiMote!  The Wii also seems fairly obsessed with losing weight, so not necessarily the best bet for those also hoping to gain muscle.  Still, I love the rhythm boxing and balance games.

Thanks for the great hub page, I had no idea so many other fitness-oriented games were out there for the Wii!

Along with the Wii Fit we also do the "My Fitness Coach". That is quite a challange and there are many types of exercises, everthing from hard cardio to Yoga. The sessions run in increments of 15 min and you can decide before or during the session if you want a lighter workout or push yourself more. Quite interactive that way but not so much stopping during the workout itself. No Wii controllers or boards are needed during the routines except to answer "how are you doing, etc". Both my husband and I use it and being old folks of 53 and 61, I will also state we have never been health concious or done exercise but with these systems and so much variety we are at it for at least 40-60 minutes a day, every day. We are surprising ourselves, quite frankly. No "major" weight loss, but much more energy and posture has improved significantly in us both, and we haven't even had it full month yet. Now we are trying to correct our eating habits a bit at a time.

Variety and fun are keeping us coming back day after day. Keep it fun and you will stick to it. Also being able to curse at the screen is very satisfying, venting is good and no ones feelings get hurt.

Did you know that The Game of Hanging", hangman is a simple word guessing game that has been known to exist in various forms since the year 1894 where a version of the game was recorded in a book named "Traditional Games" by Alice Bertha Gomme. It is commonly used to help teach children how to spell certain words.

I love step aerobics, if only the advanced could go up to 30 minutes. That would be so great. The five minutes is just not even close to enough.

I would also like to see some dance dance revolution with better music selections. I would be happy to pay for songs that I could choose individually, just like the ipod allows. That would allow people to choose their own music, and be enjoyable for everybody.

Really? The Jillian Michaels game is the worst. I'm a fitness trainer and it's so poorly done, it's amazing. Of course she's a quack, who is more interested in money than actually helping people, it's not even funny.

For the person who wants to raise you BMI, you need to eat a healthy diet and you'll need more resistance training than you can get with the Wii Fit. Wii Fit is an awesome workout, but beyond a certain level it's not going to help. Use it for some cardio (although I prefer other things), balance, flexibility, and core but you'll want some weights to help build some bulk. You'll also really want to watch the quality of food you're eating. Skinny doesn't equal license to eat anything you want. You can still benefit from a balanced diet, and you can still get the same lifestyle related illnesses (heart disease, atherosclerosis, high bp, high cholesterol) common to people who are obese with a poor diet.

My husband bought me a Wii game & the Wii Fitness Trainer last Christmas. I really wanted a program that varied & that I had some control over so I would stick to the workouts. I love this program! There is so much to it, not complicated, but "varied." I feel so much better; I turned 50 this year...no big deal! Oh, I also got to incorporate a lot of work out equipment that I had accumulated over the years!

Do you know if they have come out with a longer version of the "Obstacle Course" from the Wii Fit Plus? There are only two levels - beginner and advanced - and once you complete those, there are no other levels. Is there anything else like this? It is a great workout and a fun way to do squats. I just want one with more levels.

I got the Daisy Fuentes Pilates for Christmas and it's actually would be half way decent if it recorded your movements right. I go along perfectly with the screen and it keeps telling my I'm moving to slow or fast. Sooooo frustrating.

I wish they would come out with an advanced "Step Aerobics"

I love it but it is way too short and gets boring having to do the same thing over and over!

Are there any other specific games for running or Jogging like on Wii Fit Plus?

My family bought me the wii for christmas, with the wii fit plus. OMG it's all good. We now have family nights, bowling tournaments. I love the wii fit. My favorite is the step aerobics, hula loop and kung fu, I agree we need more advanced step aerobics with better music. I did see on the jcp.com site an extension to the wii board that lifts it 3" I was thinking about getting that, any comments? Thanks for the ideas listed above. I think I'm going to try the pilates and maybe the cheerleader. I just turned 55 so I'll have to modify it with no jumps. LOL

I have got a huge selection of the wii fitness games, the worst one is Jillian Michaels. I find wiii fit is good and at the moment I am boxercising with my fitness coach cardio.

People who don't know the difference between Wii Fit and a Balance board .... classic.

A site that doesn't know the difference ... priceless :)
