Nunchuck: The Wonder Controller

Wii is now purportedly the best gaming device of the year, winning against Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and other gaming devices.

The Wii attributes it mainly to its innovative controllers, the first of its kind where you can literally swing, spin, throw and jab with your Wii Remote and Nunchuck controller.

The Nunchuck controller is the secondary controller of the Wii console. The Nunchuck controller contains a motion sensor, an analog stick and two buttons that control your character's movement.

A Nunchuck controller is just like a rightie's left hand. Though to a rightie, a left hand is not his dominant hand, it is still very important. Because of this, you need a Nunchuck controller for additional gaming and control options.

The Nunchuck is designed to fit your hand like a glove, perfect for both left and right hand use. Many games require you to use the Nunchuck so you can control you're character's movement with both hands.

Wii Boxing, for example, needs the Wii Nunchuck so you can jab and use both your left and right hand. You can use the Wii remote to jab for your dominant hand and the Nunchuck controller for your weaker hand.

Many Wii Games like Super Mario Galaxy require a Nunchuck controller to let the character walk or run around the gaming environment. Most action and adventure games need Nunchucks too.

These games enable you to hit our slash your sword with the remote and shield or aim with the Nunchuck controller, like in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Mario Party does not need a Nunchuck on the main game, but requires the Nunchuck controller on some of its mini games.

Super Mario Smash Bros. Brawl requires the same. Though the Nunchuck Controller is not especially required in all Wii games, I recommend you just purchase one, at least. You will miss a lot if you don't have one.
