A New Sport Game For Wii
Wii Sports Resort is the latest nintedo Wii console game (as of July 2009).
The setting of this game is in a beach resort on the Wuhu Island. Imagine yourself having a marvellous vacation on this island, and passing your time in various sport activities. You have a long list of activities to choose from: Activities like playing freesbie, tennis, table tennis, various water sports, swordplay, sky riding and more.
Your imagination doesn't have to stay only in the theoretical level: As with the other Wii games, playing a game is done with your whole body, as you control the movements of the game by moving the controller in the same way you would be when playing in reality. The Wii Sports Resort takes this game experience to a new level with the new Wii MotionPlus accessory, which plugs into your Wii remote and gives you much more control over the players movements.
This game can give you hours of fun. It will also give you a complete physical workout. You can combine the two by either playing alone or inviting your friends and family to join in, as you add players to your game and compete against each other.
If you are a parent considering to buy it for your child(ren), think about this way: Instead of having you kid stuck near a screen (either a TV or a PC), with Wii Sports Resort he or she will be excercising (and enjoying it thoroughly!), and interacting with siblings or friends.
You can use the Wii Sports Resort as a party theme: The games are entertaining to watch as much as they are to play, and the kids will enjoy having some of them competing in the swordsplay or sky diving, while the others are cheering.
Following are a few of the game screens:
The main game selection screen shows you the game categories from which you can choose:
- Swordplay
- Wakeboarding
- Frisbee
- Archery
- Basket Ball
- Table Tennis
- Golf
- Bowling
- Power Cruising
- Canoeing
- Cycling
- Air Sports
Most categories offer more than one game to choose from - you see here for example the Air Sports game selection screen, and you can also select the number of players for this game.
Following are a few screens of the actual games.
Accessories Needed
One problem with this game is comes packed with only one Wii MotionPlus accessory. You will need one such accessory for each controller. Each player in the game will need his or her own controller, so you most certainly will want to buy at least one more Wii MotionPlus, probably about two or three of them.
Other accessories you may add are the Wii Grand Slam Sports Pack, which adds to the game experience by giving you remote controls in the shape of the actual tool you would be using in a real-life game: A tennis-rack shaped controller for tennis, a baseball bat, a golf club and a steering wheel.
Other possible accessories are the common Wii accessories: a battery kit, a battery charging station (for 2 or 4 batteries), a lens cleaning kit, etc.
You may shop for these accessories in Amazon - see the Amazon section below.
