Drive-In Theatre and Big Movie Screens
52The young people don't know just how much they're missing by there not being a big wide screen drive-in movie theater in their area. I can remember when on a weekend night my friends and I would load into my 52 Ford and go see a movie at the star lite drive-in near Whiteville, North Carolina city limits. My first date was a double date and yes the theater is where we went that night to see Elvis in "Love me tender". Sometimes there would be 8 of us and after we got into the movie and the car parked we would get out blankets and sit on the ground and watch the movie. There was always two movies with a cartoon between them taking up about 4 hours to see them both. Drive-in theaters are all just about gone now and will be missed by many of us that do remember the fun we had and the good made movies of those times. Now a days we have satelite TV, movie renters stores and a few walk in movies left with poorly made movies. I feel that the kids don't have anything to do to keep them out of trouble. I guess we will have to settle on watching a movie on direct-tv tonight if we can find one interesting enough to watch.

Going to the drive in movies with a date was nice and the popcorn sure was cheaper than it is today! :)

I love drive-ins! There's one in Jesup, GA, where I lived with my ex. My best friend still lives there, so we do get a chance to fequent a drive-in from time to time.
