Windows 7 Is it worth upgrading too

Microsoft Corp. is scheduled to release a brand new operating system later this year in fact the date is set for October 22. Before this release Microsoft had released 2 previous beta's, the first beta was released to programmers, IT pro's, and other users who wanted to experience the newest Microsoft operating system,. The second beta that was released was called "Windows 7 Beta RC1", which was to be an updated version of the previous beta. But as we know when Vista came out, Windows 7 will be released the same way, with the same 3 versions. The Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate. Each version will allow you to experience Windows seven the same way, but the options will be different from each. As we know wth any Microsoft product the Ultimate will be the one that will have everything that Windows 7 has to offer, even though Home Premium and Professional will have their chances too.
So how do these three compare to one another, well with the home premium you will experience everything from improved desktop navigation to using home networking. The Professional will give you the same with Windows XP Mode to backing up your home and business network. The Ultimate gives you everything. So you must ask yourself, is this worth buying, or can I make do with Windows Vista. Well like anything Microsoft releases it comes with a price tag.
So how much does the Windows 7 Premium, Professional, and Ultimate cost. Well like with any Microsoft product they will price point it to the consumer as best as they can. As we know Window’s 7 is an upgrade to Windows Vista and with each operating system the price will be different, but I have found that if you order it from Microsoft.com you can save yourself money, yes save yourself money. So let’s get to it, Windows 7 Premium, $199.99(Full), but if you order it online through Microsoft you can get it as a Pre-order for $49.99(Upgrade) a savings of 58% off the retail price. The next is Windows 7 Professional, which retails for $299.99(Full), but if you order it through Microsoft you can save 50% on a pre-order for just $99.99(Upgrade). Last is the Windows 7 Ultimate, which retails for $319.99(full), but if you upgrade it is only $219.99(upgrade).

With any new operating system their can be some resistance to upgrading to something new when we just last year alone have goten used to Windows Vista. So why do we need to change so quickly to a new operating system, or I should say why should we upgrade.
Here are some simple reasons why to not upgrade.
- They just released Windows Vista a year ago
- Windows Vista is no different then Windows 7
- Why do I need to spend another $50.00, $100.00 or $219.00 to upgrade what I have now
So what are some good reasons to upgrade
- It's new, and has more versilitility to the way it is designed
- They seem to say it is faster and easier to use then Vista
- The massive overhaul they have done since Vista was released
Below are just some of the things Windows 7 offer's that Vista did not offer.
So what does Windows 7 offer that Vista didn’t? I believe it offers a huge advancement not just in user technology, but in the way we are in our lives today. Our lives are on the go and constantly changing and with us changing Microsoft has changes as well with Windows 7. I personally have been a great supporter of Microsoft products and they way we adapt our lives around technology. With Windows 7, brings a whole new set of options and experience. But for those who use previous versions who are thinking about upgrading need to be aware that if your using Windows Vista, XP or 2000, that Windows 7 needs to have a clean install, what does this mean, it means that if you plan to upgrade to Windows 7, you must first back-up all your files, then place the Windows 7 CD in your disc drive and perform a clean install and then reinstall all your applications and data you’ve backed up. Because as we all know any upgrade or full version of Windows will overwrite files if you don’t back them up.
So what do you get with Windows 7, you get a faster, more responsive performance, what does that mean, it means that Microsoft has designed the operating system to be more responsive and simpler to use, for example the start-up, shut-down, and resume from standby will respond faster. Also, by using Jump Lists, you can quickly reach the files you have been working on with just a right click on the icon on your taskbar, so by right-clicking on the Word icon it will show your most recent Word documents.
You will also get faster and easier to launch applications and find the documents you most use. It will make your web experience faster and easier and safer than ever with Windows Explorer 8. As I have mentioned before the easiness of creating an at-home network and being able to connect your pc’s to a printer with Homegroup. You can also watch many of your favorite TV shows for free when and where you want with internet TV.1. You also can run many of your existing Windows XP productivity applications in Windows XP Mode.2.
You can connect to a company network easily and more securely with Domain Join. You can recover and back up your data with automatic back-up to your home and business network. You can help and protect your PC and portable storage devices against loss or theft with BitLocker. And last you can work in the language of your choice or switch between any of the thirty-five languages.
So now that I have explained how much windows 7 costs and what you get, is Windows 7 worth buying? In my opinion yes, I believe it is because of not just experimenting with the product in a beta stage, but the product itself. I wish however, that Microsoft would have taken more time to develop Windows Vista prior to its release, but I don’t work there. I believe it is worth the investment do you? If you think it is and plan to upgrade there are sever options you must consider. One is the dollar figure, is it in your pocketbook to buy, the Home Premium is, but when I look at the comparison of all three, we know that the Ultimate will be what everyone will want because we have to have all the bells and whistles in our computer life like we do in our lives in general. So before investing in this operating system do your own research and decide for yourself what and which one is going to fit with what you plan to use it for.
