WIndows 7 has been arrived and it was just like another normal releases unlike grand marketing for Vista. First of all why microsoft has named it windows 7 ? May be because Vista was release 6 or so. Anyway, I am using XP since 4 years and quiet happy with it till now. I also have Ubuntu in dual boot. I once tried Vista but I do not like it, so I left in just 3 days. When I searched over wikipedia I found out that only 30-35% users are on Vista and still 50-55% users are on XP. But, it is quiet sure that there is going to have strong competition between new releases of Ubuntu, Mac and Windows.
Now, what can users can expect from windows 7 ? Lets try to sum up things here-

1) Operating system is light, flexible and tight. Hence, It possesses low hardware support as well. It has well organized libraries. Microsoft has recognized that many people do not want non-useful applications which was earlier available with Vista.
2) Many of multimedia codecs are available now in default installation like DivX, MP4, MOV, H.264, AAC etc.
3) It possess improved architecture same like windows vista. Hence, after migration XP users will definitely see improvements in the architecture.
4) Many third party utilities are available now as by-default installation like theme support, multiple images as wallpaper, .iso files burning utility, virtual hard disks management, etc. It has bundle of applications of windows live essentials, which are of high utility to users.
5) It has support for sensors like GPS, multi touch, which is kind of new innovation. But, because it is in early stage, so it needs more improvement and development. Also, some people do not like pressing hard screens for writing purposes as they are more comfortable with keyboard and mouse. Accuracy is also of more concern for any user, when comes to sensor boards.
6) It has Compatibility with "XP applications" (in Virtual machine) using Virtual PC virtualization software which is by-default present. These XP applications can also be declared as by-default handlers for relevant files and shortcuts will also appear in start menu as well. This can really be incredible for a migrant.
7) Bit locker will now allow you to protect portable drives as well .
8) Improved support for multiple networks allowing different firewall policies to them.
9) Useful Windows management like maximising windows in left side or right side with keyboard shortcut support.
10) Last but the not the least, Taskbar has been renovated after such a long time.
Thanks and God bless
