WLM is the worlds largest and most used daily Messenger, it beats out Yahoo! and AIM. It use to be widely known as MSN and nowadays still recognized as MSN, even though they upgraded it to WLM. Many millions around the world use WLM, since the recent upgrades WLM has been able to have multiple people signed into the same account where as before it use to sign the person out of the account and then let the other person be on it. When the first WLM came out it was a must download and was downloaded millions of times, Microsoft have made the art of instant messenger. And they have made it there own area of expertise, WLM has come under attack from many different areas over the past few years. Even when it was MSN, the public have criticized it for not been safe for children. believeing that pedophiles use it to aim at children. It has also been under attack from virus' such as trojans, where people who make trojans go into WLM and/or other sites on the internet and make people download the virus without them actually knowing what it is, and then the person with the virus signs into WLM and then the virus then hacks the WLM account and then sends it on to other contacts on their contact list, this has been the main weakness of WLM. Even though it has had great success and lots of new users, over the years some people have opted out of WLM for the use of other Networking on the internet such as Facebook and Myspace as they can offer other things WLM cannot. But WLM is still widely used and with millions of new users every year, it is still a big player in the world of Instant Messaging and will be for many more years.
