A Phoenix psychologist once told me one doesn’t have to look far to find a real jerk. He is, of course, right. We see them every day whether at work, in the grocery store or on the road and on and on.

Just this week, I was reminded of the psychologist’s words when I saw who I have since concluded is a real jerk. I didn’t look far either. Only fifteen or so feet across the room to my television. It was Levi Johnston.

Levi, less than 20 years of age and with plans for the big time. Yes, Levi the future porn star. Oh, maybe not but my money says he will be another adult with a troubled life. I mention the porn star possibility only because he is to appear nude in the online Playgirl.

I wouldn’t be writing about Mr. Johnston but for one reason. He’s picking on my choice for president in the 2012 election, Sarah Palin. As near as I can determine, he has a desire to destroy her. If I am right, I have to wonder why. Realizing I will never know what is going on behind the scenes, I can only speculate.

It’s my guess he is motivated by a desire to diss Mrs. Palin as a way to stay in the public eye. Whether she does or doesn’t run for president might not even matter to Mr. Johnston. I suspect that in his youth all he can see is a celebrity future for himself. Getting there by hook or crook is the goal.

One would think it would be to Johnston’s advantage to stay on good terms with the Palins. Seems to me, with Sarah Palin as a friend, he would be in the public eye in a much more honorable way than by falling in with the crowd I think of as sewage.

Maybe the Palin/Johnston relationship is beyond repair. A shame if it is because his child, Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, would be better served living in the presence of a loving biological father and a loving biological mother. As it looks now, his child will be another one of thousands raised by a single mom. In this case the single mom is Bristol Palin, the daughter of Sarah Palin.

However, it is much more likely Levi Johnston doesn’t have it in him to even want to be a loving father. I think he will embrace and enjoy the life of a nasty person. Therefore, little Tripp will have to get his happiness at the guidance of his mother who may or may not remain single.

If it turns out this way the child will likely be better off than with an absentee dad who, as a high school dropout, has a next to nothing chance of gaining honorable employment with high pay.

(I read somewhere that Levi Johnston isn’t a high school dropout but instead he just hasn’t finished high school. I guess one can rationalize anything.)

Anyway, unless he changes his ways, Levi Johnston is one jerk who I doubt any decent young lady would even think of taking home to meet mother.
