Winter Rving | Cold Weather RV Camping
62Cold Weather RVing
Cold weather RV camping requires both mental and physical preparation. As far as preparing your RV, make sure you have plenty of food and water. Also make sure you have plenty of extra fuel for heating. In addition, you should have a reliable means of communication and if possible, additional form of transportation such as a 4 by 4 or a snowmobile. Whether you own a new, used or foreclosed rv you should make sure it is in good operable condition.
Remember winter rving is not for everyone. Many people prefer to go to South for the winter to places like Arizona, Texas, Mexico, or Florida. For those of you that are snow birds read on;
Winter RV camping can be one of your greatest opportunities to get close to nature and enjoy the winter season. Their are many sports such as winter hunting, ice skating, skiing, ice fishing and cross country skiing that are only available in the coldest time of year. Another benefit of cold weather RVing is that is is a great time to enjoy the solidarity of the great outdoors. Not all campgrounds are open for rving during the winter months but many are. As long as they are not right next to a ski slope you should have no trouble finding an rv destination or making a reservation.
Winter RVing reminds me of my childhood in Russia, I remember the outdooor beauty of the evergreen trees, frosted by a thin layer of frosty freshly fallen snow. I love the tranquility and peacefulness of the winter outdoor wonderland. I hope you enjoy cold weather rv camping as much I do.
