At BlizzCon 2009 Blizzard just announced their new upcoming expansion named Cataclysm which completely changes the face of Azeroth.

Along with other new changes the level cap will now be raised up to 85. This is a bit lower than the other expansions that added 5 levels each, but they made a lot of changes to old world content which more than makes up for it.

We've got two new races to try: Worgen for Alliance and the Goblins for Horde.

There will also be a guild leveling and advancement system, which will give greater benefits to guilds and will help deter "guild hopping" among members.

So far no official release date has been set, but there is speculation that it could be as early as the Christmas holiday season 2009. I guess only time will tell us for sure.

As I find out more about the exact date the new World of Warcraft Cataclysm expansion will be released I will update this and let you know.
