WoW Mining Guide

This WoW mining guide will assist you to speed up your levelling from 1-450.

If you need gold and bags of it then be certain to checkout my gold guide page for oodles of tips and strategies on my website via the link below.

Let us begin with a quick summary of what WoW mining is all about:

Mining is a gathering profession that goes best with engineering, blacksmithing or jewel-crafting as some of the mining material you gather is required for these professions recipes.

What you can actually do is mine or collect the mining materials that other players who do not wish to mine themselves or who do not take up mining, require and then sell these materials to them in the AH. That’s one good way of creating some gold. What will you be mining for? When you mine you will dig up stones, metals and gems out. All of these are needed as well by the aforementioned professions that go well with mining. Some monsters also drop mining items when killed.

Do not ignore the time portion that it takes to collect materials in a gathering profession such as mining. It can be very time consuming to level up your mining skill so many players just choose to rather buy the required mining materials or mats from the auction house. You are going to have to get your hands a little dirty though if you are not have tons of gold as the buying the mining materials option will seriously need oodles of gold. Remember to read my gold making tips on my World Of Warcraft gold guide page mentioned at the beginning of the article.

Here is a list of what is needed to start mining:

1.Go find a trainer and get trained in mining
2.Go purchase a pick from your local merchant
3.You will require gloves as well, make sure to look for the least expensive pair and get them enchanted with +5 mining. This should cost more or less 2 gold.
4.A mining helmet will add +5 to your mining as well. Ask an engineer to create one for you, buy one in the AH or if you are an engineer create it yourself.
5.Find a mineral vein to begin mining. All the locations are noted in my second page of my WoW mining guide.

Note: The gloves and helmet that I mentioned are optional accessories but are highly recommended to increase your chance while mining.

Here is a list of the mining trainers and their positions:

If you are playing Horde then head on over to Vengeance Landing in the Howling Fjord and locate Jonathan Lewis.
Alliance players go to Valiance Keep, Borean Tundra and locate Fendrig Redbeard or you can locate  Grumbol Stoutpick in Valgarde, Howling Fjord.

OR Both factions can head on over to Dalaran and find Jedidiah Handers in the Magus Commerce Exchange.

I have included all the mineral veins locations and types and a full 1-450 mining guide on page 2 of my World Of Warcraft mining guide website via the link below.
