WoW Profession Guide
64This WoW profession guide will provide an overview of some of the things you will want to consider when choosing your professions in the game. I will be adding more to this WoW profession guide as time goes on and certainly things may change a little with the Lich King add-on later this year.
One of the things I want to caution people is to be wary of some of the free site that offer a free WoW profession guide for leveling as MANY of these sites are completely outdated since the game has been around for years now.
Most of these sites are hardly if ever updated so just be careful before wasting your time trying to level up with a free WoW profession guide.

What Profession To Choose?
I want to start off this WoW profession guide with a look at the professions and who should choose which professions. Just about any WoW profession guide will tell you steps to take but it is important to know that some go hand in hand and can help offset cost and help with leveling.
As an example, if you are a cloth wearer you probably would want to choose tailoring so you will be able to make your own cloth gear. A great profession to choose with tailoring is enchanting because you can disenchant some of the items you make to level up your tailoring and use those mats to level up enchanting as well.
This helps offset the cost of both professions. In many cases you may have trouble selling the cloth gear you make but enchanting materials almost always sell rapidly in the Auction House.
If you are a leather wearer you could do the same thing but you would have to sacrifice skinning to get your own materials if you decided to go with enchanting. What I recommend in this WoW profession guide is to start off with skinning and leatherworking so you can get the free materials for low level leather crafts.
Later on you can drop your skinning when you are making enough gold to buy the mterials and pick up enchanting. This again will allow you to disenchant items you make as well as enchant your own gear at a signifigant savings.
The same would hold true for metalsmith as you would want to be able to mine your own ore at lower levels to save from have to buy materials but you may want to pick up enchanting at higher levels for the same reasons as stated above.
In our next segment of our WoW profession guide we will look at herbalism and alchemy as will as the secondary professions of first aid, fishing and cooking and are they worth the time spent.
As for the most effective and rapid means for leveling your professions I would recommend taking a look at Warcraftmanship for some of the best information and WoW profession guide available.
