Mozart was born at his home of seventeen years, the address 9 Getreidegasse, Salzburg Austria.

His parents were Motter Anna Maria Perti Mozoart and Father Leopold Mozart, he had one sister who is the only other child to Maria and Leopold besides Wolfgang. She was named after her mother with the name Maria Anna Mozart. Despite her given name she was actually called by the name of Nannerl.

The baptismal record for the day after Wolfgang's birth show his name as being Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart, although as an adult he called himself by the name Wolfgang Amadè Mozart.

Wolfgang's father was a choir master in the court orchestra of the Archbishop of Salzburg. As well as a minor composer. Which knowing this it is no surprise that Wolfgang became a very well known composer.

When Wolfgang was only four years old his father began teaching him to play the keyboard. To his surprise he did really well with it. He bagan to play back tunes that his father had taught him and even kept in time with them.

At the age of five he composed his first piece, Andante. I am sure the child didn't know how to write music at this time which is why his father wrote them down. Which could also explain why the piece is only fifteen seconds long. Wolfgang was only five at this time.

Wolfgang also learned how to play the violin at a young age as well as learning to write music. His father taught him to the best of his ability but also, learned by trial and error which is evident by the ink splattered stains on his first composition.

Once Leopold knew that his son whom he was very close to was outstanding with music he decided to stop writing his own and began helping his son nourish his career.
