Power of the Home is Rooted in the Heart of Women

I think as women we hold much more power than many believe, and have all throughout history. The power of the home and family has always been vital, and has always been rooted in the heart of the woman.

Gaining Power in the Workforce Sacrificing Femininity

In some ways it seems when we gain more power in the work force, we loose some of the power intrinsic to simply being a woman. Maybe this happens because we are judging our success by men's standards. But we are not men and we are giving up our femininity in the name of success! What we use to get successful jobs can ruin a marriage and children. It's fine to have a career and compete. I get upset when I see families suffer from those choices. A soft smile and gentle hug can be hard to give when your tired, stressed and hurried.

Women's Virtues Need to be Protected and Honored

Nowadays anything goes. If you want to be promiscuous, shave your head, or be loud...it's all fine. Whereas in the past women's virtues where protected and honored. It's ok now to get divorced if you're just "unhappy" in the marriage. It's ok to put your kids in day care, if working is where you'd "prefer" to be. Everything is ok, if done in the name of your happiness.

This is Not Religious

So often we see these values in religious setting, but these values are not honed in by the Christians, Jews, Muslims, or any other group. These skills are women's tools used all throughout time. Being kind, appreciative, altruistic, honest, and attentive are used by religion, but maybe these virtues were adopted by the "church" from the graces of women.

Plan your life you cannot do it all...not all at once

We are taught to have it all. But no, you cannot do it all...not all at once. Not at the same time. So we are left with the need to balance. Plan your life. If you want kids they need to be nurtured 100 percent. If you want to get married the marriage must be nurtured to thrive. If you want a career than you must dedicate time and ambition, oh what a balancing game!

Our Approach, Grow Life Around the Family

So many women now are unable to have babies. They are successful, playing out their plan...but the plan doesn't always work! Seeing this many years ago, we decided to have our babies first. Aside from obvious physical benefits, we wanted to grow our life around them. It has worked and when I'm 40 my kids will be raised. I'll still have time to divide and conquer. Until then, it's the daily effort to be soft and loving to those who need me. There lies a lot of power. It's a power we always have had, and I hope girls in the future are honored to have.

Division of work and duties often leads to struggle

Yes, there is a difference in men and women in the work force. We may have more freedoms and choices than in the past. But, that extra rope can be used as a noose. Men go to work come home. Women get to go to work come home and run the home; they get two full time jobs. Division of work and duties often leads to struggle.

More Responsibility Should be Placed on Being The Heart of The Home

The success of the home is directly in the hands of the woman, she has the power from day one. More responsibility should be placed on that power. Women are the heart of the whole life cycle they should be protected and honored for that fact more than they are.

A Power That's Often Overlooked and Under Taught.

The moral here, I'm proud to be a woman, have daughters, and all these choices. Let's just know that we hold power aside from careers that's often overlooked and under taught. The power of a wife and mother is fierce, it's a power that can hold a family together, or throw it like seeds into the wind.
