Women who Rock!
64Women who Rock!
Let's just say there is a lot of great singers and my favourites happen to be women. Basically because I am a female vocalist and I study them to train my voice. I also studied Robert Plant and Todd Rundgren. Aside from that I just love to give my singers some kind of praise only because they deserve it. There are many great singers and musicians out there I made a list of ten but I thought it would be fun to see what you might have in mind!
So here's the list:
#1. Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson of Heart-The Wilson Sisters share the #1 Spot! I just have to say Ann and Nancy Wilson rocks the best. I love all of Heart's Songs. Almost any song Ann sings, she sings it best. "Magic Man" and "Dreamboat Annie" are some of the hits. Ann is such a talented person as I've stated before in a recent post. Nancy can Rock and she sings great covers by Led Zeppelin alongside her sister Ann of course. Nancy sings the song "These Dreams". I don't care for the lyrics it's the beautiful voice of Nancy Wilson. They are the #1 Hard Rockers and they are still rockin' on tour and making a new album.
#2. Stevie Nicks-She rocks because she's got some great songs like "Gold Dust Woman", "Chain", "Dreams" and "Rhiannon". She's a legend and has had success with Fleetwood Mac and solo success too with a song called "Edge of Seventeen" and other songs of course. Mainly because I'm a fan of Fleetwood Mac, She makes the #2 spot on my list. She rocks.(She folk rocks!)
#3. Suzi Quatro-She is A hardrocker. She is known for her glam rock. Suzi sang "All Shook Up", and got praise from the king of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley himself. She sang hit's like: "Your Mama Won't Like Me","Tear me Apart" and "Can the Can". She also has some new songs I listened to recently. A favourite of mine is "Back to The Drive". She's a cool bassist too! She Glam Rocks!
#4. Pat Benetar- She sings the hit "Heartbreaker". That's a really good song. When I first heard she sang a song called "Heartbreaker" I thought it was a Led Zeppelin song just the same titles. But both songs are great! She rocks too!
#5. Sheryl Crow- She's great and she plays guitar really well. She also plays bass really well. I love her music. She's got great songs like "Am I Getting Through","All I Wanna Do" and "Change Would do You Good" and my favourite song "Favourite Mistake". I also like the cover songs she does and she usually looks like she's having fun on stage. She just rocks!
Here's the other women who rock!
#6. Grace Slick- from Jefferson Airplane "White Rabbit" and "Somebody to Love" although she's stated before that "people over 50 can't rock because they look ridiculous on stage" I still think she rocks. No matter how old...
#7. Chi Coltrane- sings "Thunder and Lightning" a great song! She's a pianist and a singer that can sing really well check out her music if you haven't heard her music. This pianist rocks.
#8. Joan Jett- Some people disagree with me but I think she rocks. Joan Sings "I love Rock And Roll" she was in the rock band The Runaways. I'm not a fan of Punk but she's got some good songs. She Punk Rocks!
#9. Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders- She's a rock singer from the rock new wave band the Pretenders. She's also a guitarist like a lot of other great rock musicians. She Rocks Too!
#10. You Fill in The Blank! I could put KT Tunstall on the list or even Bonnie Raitt, but I can't make a decision on who would be best. I'll let you choose maybe you have a better idea!
Now I was thinking of living rockers but there are some really talented rockers that have passed away including Janis Joplin and Mama Cass. So you can suggest either or. Living or not...
