LOOKING AT THE OPPOSITE SEX

Singlesnet, EHarmony, Plentyoffish, etc.... What do these all have in common? They are all date lines. People log onto these sites every day hoping to find their soul mates, but it is a fair way to find someone to love?

We often judge the opposite sex not only by their words but also by their looks. How can we make fair judgements when we know so little about who we are talking to?

I want to offer a tips on finding the right one for you.

Tip #1- Be realistic about online dating expectations.

I've seen the commercials and the success stories describing how people find their perfect online, but be realistic. The people we chat with online often give false or misleading information about themselves. They are rarely sincere. I'm not going to try and discourage anyone from trying an online dating service if that is what they choice, but look into the horror stories as well as the success stories before making a decision that you may very well regret.

Tip #2- Take people as they come.

You wouldn't go sopping for a new dress just to go home and cut it shreds, would you? Of course not. So why do it to people? When you meet someone, get to know them and find out if you are willing to accept their bad qualities as well as their good. If not, let them go. Don't try to mold them into the person that you want them to be. When a person makes changes in their life, those changes have to be for them- not you.

Tip #3- Don't play the comparison game

We have all been in bad relationships at one time or another, right? But do we really want to take all that excess baggage into a new potential relationship. If he takes his coffee just like your ex took his, that does not make him an automatic jerk. Don't try to compare everything the new guy in your line of view to the old ones you tossed out. Similarities in their character does not mean that they are cut from the same pattern.

Tip #4- Look for more than looks

A lot of guys like the blond bombshell or the African- American bootylicious type babe, but sometimes it turns out that beauty really is only skin deep. Many of the model-type babes you find, turn out to have some of the worst attitudes. Some of them act that way because they have been hurt by guys who wanted them just because they are beautiful and others are just bitches who think they can act anyway they want to because they are beautiful. Try to actually get to know the person inside.

Tip #5- Look for common interests

To a guy, the perfect woman may be a beauty with a love of sports who loves to cook and has great job. Okay. That is reasonable, but had to find. You don't have to have someone who likes everything you like. Just try to have at least one thing in common and see where that goes. Maybe you can interest her in some of your interests if you are willing to give some of yours a try.

Tip #5- Don't judge her by the way she dresses

Some women have a very definitive sense of style. They like to wear the latest in high fashion- even if it shows more than a little skin. Skimpy clothes does not mean that the woman is a slut. Nor does clothes that keep it all tucked and hidden mean that she is a prude. Talk to her.

Tip #6- Do not judge a woman by the company she keeps

I know that it is said that we known by the company we keep, but that is not always the case. I am a shy reserved type female who likes to dress conservatively, but my friends are wild! They dress a little "hoochie", they are loud and a little loose, and they drink like sailors. I like to hang out with them because they are good friends. I don't have a whole lot in common with them, and I don't party quite as hard as they do. Guys often make the mistake of thinking that I am a little more free-wheeling than I am because of them. Big mistake!!! Believe it or not shy girls hang out with the loose ones sometimes, and vice versa. You have to know what you're getting by talking to them- not by just looking.

Tip #7- Be honest about your intentions

You can find out a lot about where a woman's mind is if you just tell her what you're looking for. This could save you from heartache and wasted time.  Besides, you can't expect trust if you are trustworthy.  Honesty is a big part of that.  If you just want to have a good time, tell her. She may be just the girl you are looking for. Then again, she may want more. Being upfront about this could be difference between getting your car windows busted after a night of hot sex and finding out that the woman you thought you'd marry one day only wanted a few hot and heavy rolls in the hay.

Tip # 8- If she has kids, don't think she isn't worth your time

If you are looking for a meaningful relationship, don't discount the single mothers (or fathers). Just because they have children, that does not mean that they are looking for a replacement parent for the one that is missing. Sometimes a single mom just wants someone to be there for her. Sure, you'll have to meet the kids and incorporate yorself in their lives sooner or later if you want a long term relationship, but wait until you are invited to take that step.

Tip #9- Don't let your friends pick for you

We all know that our friends mean well, and it's okay to go on a blind date set up by them- if you're brave and trust their judgement. Just don't let their choices influence yours. The person they think is right for you, may not be. They may actually not like the person that is.  It happens.

Tip #10- Don't be too judgemental

The title of this hub is How to judge and trust a woman. I know it may seem like I went all the way this subject, but in reality it is not fair to judge people. We have to get to know them and then judge ourselves and trust will come if we are open to it. That is the way that we find our mates. We have to get to know others and then decide if we are willing to share our world with theirs.  Then we will find the strength to open our hearts and minds and trust. That is the only fair way to judge anyone- man or woman.

I hope that this is helpful to someone. We don't have to have someone to share our lives with. Sometimes all we need is someone to share a moment. What ever we are looking for, we have to remember to be respectful of the feelings of others and to be as honest and open as we want others to be with us.

Tootles!!!
