Women and Shoes

These days the average woman owns around thirty pairs of shoes, from those fantastic must have killer heels to the more relaxing flat sandals. Sales of women's shoes are going through the roof and increasing at a rate of approximately 33% every year.

Twenty years ago the average woman had only three pairs of shoes, one pair for during the day, one pair for a night out, and one pair for special occasions.

One in ten women today admit to having over one hundred pairs of shoes and two of those ten over 200 pairs.

Is it an addiction like gambling or alcoholism? When these women see a pair of shoes and just have to have them.

According to a recent study it is not an addiction, nor is it a mental problem as some people think.

It is a hobby, just like John Doe has five sports cars in his garage or Joe Schmoe has his Play station, computer, Xbox, and other gaming machines. Women love their shoes and like any other hobby love to collect shoes they like.

Women have a lot more disposable income than twenty years ago, and like men who follow their favourite football team or buy up all of the superhero magazines, women buy shoes.
