Women’s Shoe Shopping Woes
Make your shopping experience more pleasurable by choosing the right high heel!
Many women find shoe shopping overwhelming. There are so many styles, types, and colors to choose from. Every woman should have a few necessities in their closets. The first staple should be a plain black pump, round toe or pointy toe. This will go will several different outfits and keeps a classic look (tip: try stay away from square toe pumps). The second staple should be a low heel/sling back brown or tan shoe. This great to have in your closet for neutral color work ensembles you may put together. Lastly, is a fun “going out” peep toe pump or a high heeled open toe shoe. These will guide you on fun nights out with friends or a fun date. Women have many body shapes and sizes. Here is a list of tips on how to choose the right high heel for your body type.
High Heels:
1. For people with long slender legs, stilettos with skinny heels or ankle straps will look fabulous on you!
2. For people that are shorter and have larger calves, choose a pointy toe pump, try to stay away from ankle straps they will separate you leg from your ankle giving you the appearance of being shorter and possibly larger, eek.
Boots:
1. For long slender legs choose a high heeled knee length boot in a classic color. If you are tall and don’t enjoy wearing heels, pick a boot with a kitten heel and pointy toe. Slouchy boots are very popular this year. If it’s your style leggings and a slouchy boot would look fantastic, try it out!
2. For shorter legs, try a mid- calve, pointy toe, high heeled boots. This would look great with a pair of jeans or depending on the style a pencil skirt and opaque stalking for the winter.
For Everyone:
Ø Wedges are great for any body type and are slightly more comfortable than a stiletto. I know women won’t complain about that!
Ø Choose colors that can be warn with many different outfits in your closet. Not everything has to match perfectly. Remember your staple colors, however, don’t be afraid of getting wild with some bright colors as well.
Ø Try your shoes on at the store and make sure they are the right size for you. They will most likely need to be warn one or two times before breaking them in.
Ø Have fun! Try on as many styles and colors as you want, you may be surprised as to what you can pull off!
