You can buy Wonder Woman costumes in a variety of styles and sizes. There is the traditional comic book version of Wonder Woman and the Wonder Woman costume based off the character played by Lynda Carter in her series from 1975. Wonder Woman was also an important figure in two different cartoons : Super Friends and Justice League. Wonder Woman made her debut in CD comic books written by William Marston, in 1941. Her history and storyline are a huge part of pop culture for what she represented in terms of women's rights. She is known as a feminist, a term very much unused at that time period. Her “mission”, according to the creator, was to bring “ideals of love, peace, and sexual equality to world torn by the hatred of men”. In modern times, we can appreciate the feminist role that Wonder Woman adapted, however in 1944, when Wonder Woman began being printed regularly, women were losing their jobs to men coming back from the war. This makes her an incredible role model, in my opinion and a reason to wear her costume, despite her lack of an action movie to revive her popularity.

The Wonder Woman costumes all have some variation of the same elements, each of which is essential to the character herself. The dark black hair, the crown, the bangles/bracelets, red boots, a belt, a lasso and an outfit comprised of the American flag, red, white and blue. The Lasso of Truth, or called the Lariat of Hestia, is gold because it was created from the belt of Gaea and creted by the God Hephaestus. It, like all of her other accessories, is nearly indestructiable, but has been “broken” in various episodes. The lasso glows brightly with whats called the “fires of hestia” and anyone wrapped or touched by the Lasso of Truth must speak the truth.
