Welcome To My Wall Clocks Place

I've had a passion for these types of clocks for some time.  As you will quickly learn from reading this hub, it isn't that I sell them or even make them, I just appreciate their design and charming qualities.  If you've ever been in someone's home who has a wood wall clock, then you know what I mean.  Maybe you even own one yourself or you are at least considering one from your visit here today.  I highly recommend them.  You can find them all over the internet, whether you shop on Ebay, Amazon, Craigslist or even locally at garage sales and estate sales.

In fact, sometimes the best luck you will have is locally as the person that is having the sale is likely not shopping it against others online.  This will usually mean a better bargain for you and then you don't have to worry about shipping costs or damage in transit.  This is even more true for antique wood wall clocks, where there may be a lot of small moving parts or just older wooden pieces.

So, as you stay here today, I invite you to watch a few videos of some functional cuckoo and antique wall clocks.  Take in the qualities of these vintage wall clocks and the charm and history that goes with them.  You might just find that as you are looking over the site, watching the videos or looking at the pictures that you recall or are brought to reminisce about some old memories you had long forgotten.  Enjoy!

Cuckoo Wall Clocks

Well, there is one thing that usually drives people either crazy in a good way or mad in another. This is the cuckoo clock phenomenon. What some people think is just one of the most unique wall clocks available drives someone else literally up a wall.  There is just no rhym or reason as to why someone will like them or hate them.  Personally, I think they are really cool in someone else's home.  I enjoy looking at them and think they are great vintage pieces, but I don't know if I could tolerate the consistent cuckoo each and every hour.  Maybe I could just get one and not wind it up or give it the ability to cuckoo, hmmmm....

Well, until then, I'll let someone else enjoy all the great ambiance and charm that these antique wall clocks provide.  That's actually a good point, quickly.  There are newer cuckoo clocks as well.  These are not just reserved for those old classics.  You can find modern and contemporary clocks with whimsical animals and other figurines from modern eras that do all the antics you would expect from a cuckoo clock.  These can be a lot of fun and if they were made in limited production, could eventually have some value of their own.

Antique Wall Clocks

There are other sites and stores dedicated strictly to antique wall clocks and rightfully so. These beauties have all of the charm and nostalgic qualities that make any piece of art worth their value.  There is just something about these wood and metal combinations that seem to tell a story.  At the very least, they have history in them.  They have literally told time through the ages and this history that they have kept is somehow locked inside them.

With each wind of their hands or turn of their keys, these clocks come to life again to weave another tale in someone's life.  If you have one of these ticking beauties, then you know what I mean. There is a subtle calming quality about them.  They just seem to soothe your mind and allow your body to settle into a quiet solitude.

Usually made from wood, these wall clocks have various shapes and sizes.  Some are quite large and others are defined more by their intricate crafstmanship and carving details.  Whether you can appreciate the fine detailing or prefer a larger metal clock style, there is something for you out there.  Those larger metal clocks are like the ones of old train stations or hotel lobbeys.  They, too, have their own history and ability to recall times gone by.  If you ever have the opportunity to walk into an old clock shop, I would highly recommend it.  There is a certain smell, sound and sense that permeates these old shops.  But, you better get there soon, because with technology, time is unfortunately running out on these ones...
