A Wooden Playhouse is every little child's dream. Children are fascinated with the thought of having an outdoor playhouse of their own. They can have friends join them to play or hold their special club meetings. Children's imaginations carry them to the farthest corners of the world becoming characters to act out their fantasies. What better place to do this than in a playhouse. The beauty of these miniature homes is they can be built to go outside or inside. There are specially treated woods to ensure that a house built outside will sustain weather conditions, and they come in many different shapes and sizes. Some are built to hold as many as six to eight small children. While other are cozy, built to hold just a couple of tots. It all depends on the age of the child or children who are the lucky recipients of such a treasured gift. These are gifts that will surely last a long time.

A child's outdoor playhouse will keep the kids out of the garden and can even enhance the appearance of the landscaping adding a special and unique touch. There are wooden themed houses that will fit perfecting into a section of the yard and blend perfectly with the trees and bushes that surround it. Maybe a log cabin would be the best way to go. Other are built to overlook the yard sitting in the biggest tree in your yard. Tree houses have to be one of the best inventions and favorite of all homes constructed for children. Of course a tree house needs a ladder and a curtain for a door. It must also have solid reinforcement to keep your children safe and to prevent the house to shift or fall out of the tree. Most tree houses are build by dad so that won't likely happen, and to make sure it doesn't along with the lumber he will find many appliances to add to the foundation of the structure to make sure it is secure. Other houses for kids come as kits and will include all the hardware designed to provide safety and security. Just think of the exercise children will experience as they climb up to and down from their small piece of heaven.

The kits that you buy to build a childs playhouse usually are reasonably priced depending on the materials used and the extras included. If you'd rather not purchase a kit, there are carpenters and other craftsmen who build these mini homes as a hobby and will often times charge a minimal amount of money because they consider it something they enjoy doing and are not so concerned about the cost.

Custom made houses for children are they best because they can be designed according to your or your child's specifications. Image a doll house for children to play in that includes a loft and separate rooms and window boxes under each window with real flowers that will needed to be tended to. Image a little girl's fairy tale come true with a storybook home complete with characters painted on the walls and a window with a little terrace that a child could actually play on. Children love characters especially princesses and comic book heroes. Any girl whose favorite dress is Cinderella's ball gown will surely be thrilled with her own Cinderella palace. What little boy wouldn't like living in a Spiderman tree house complete with a rope to swing on? You might pay more for a custom design, but it will be worth every penny.

Wooden construction houses for children if treated probably for outdoors will offer greater durability. The best options for lumber include mahogany, oak, maple and pine. A wood playhouse would also offer the greatest attraction factor in or outside of a home. Selections for paint will be a matter of taste and with wooden floors to decorate the possibilities are endless. Before you know it your child will have the skills of the best interior decorator in town. On the realistic side, wood will probably hold less heat in the summer and provide more protection from the chilliness of fall. Children have even been known to brave winter weather to play in their favorite spot. Yes, folks if your heart so desires you can even rig up a reliable and safe heating system that will keep a safe and warm feeling in outside wooden playhouses for children.

great article !

I bought my kids' wooden playhouse as part of a disassembled kit (like an Ikea flatpack!) and put it together with the help of the inlaws. What an experience ! So far, my oldest loves it, especially with the sand box underneath, as it keeps her out of the sun.

I found that the hardest part of the process was choosing the style, as there were so many !

In the end, we've got something that will last for many years to come and is only made better by my kids' imagination..

Too much sugar for a dime. That’s another way of saying a $4.99 “laser” top that promises to deliver infrared light, music and “fast spinning fun for everyone” should probably also say “caveat emptor.” I never took Latin, but I know “buyer beware.”These days all the morning television shows are telling grandparents which children’s toys are the best for Christmas .
