How children will surprise you with their imagination on wooden train track!

How many toys can you think of today that will trigger creativity and imagination with your children? In fact, in today's day and age, you probably see more electronic and plastic toys than the good old high quality wooden toys.

Which is why I’m so passionate about wooden train track. Even when you start with basic track pieces, your children can still do wonders with track layouts.

Of course, you will first need a wooden train set. It’s fairly easy to find wooden train sets that are priced reasonably. A quick search online or a visit to your local toys stores should give you plenty of great options.

A side note, I have a quick tip on shopping for a wooden train set. Whether you are shopping online or at a local retail store, take your kids along. You can let them know ahead of time that you will be getting them a wooden train set so that they won’t wander away for other toys. Allow them to choose the wooden train set as this will give them a sense of ownership! They will feel a sense of trust from you that will build up their self-esteem!

Once you get the train set, go ahead and assemble them together with your kids. Show them how you could assemble them to look like what’s on the box. Let them experience how easy it is to connect the different wooden train track pieces. And that’s where the magic begins.

Because it is so easy to join the train tracks together, they will begin to explore different layouts on their own. I’ve seen this first hand with several children. Even if the train tracks never connect at both ends, you will find your children enjoy the assembly immensely. You will be surprised by the creative layouts. You will also observer a sense of accomplishment for being able to put the tracks together innovatively.

Even better, look at one of the picture below. Isn’t it fun to see how a dinosaur can enjoy a leisurely train ride in your living room :-D

So let’s have at it. Not only does a wooden train track set help build your children imagination, you can teach them many great life lessons as well as enhance the bonds between you and your children!
