WordPress Blog Plugin For SEO Meta Tags

Meta Tags are what the search engines use to rank your pages in the search engines results pages

The content of the meta tags must reflect the pages visible content - i.e. you must not put keywords in your meta tags if those words are not actually visible on the page and readable by the search engines - javascript is not readable - so you have to take that into account if you are using "simple" RSS news feed programs to freshen up your blog pages - PHP RSS feeds create readable text - but they are harder to program

WordPress is too technical to hack - so just use an existing free plugin for getting the meta tags into your WordPress Blog's pages

A good SEO plugin will automatically create the meta tags complete with valid keywords based on your blog post titles

I use a free plugin "All in One SEO Pack" from:

http://wp.uberdose.com/2007/03/24/all-in-one-seo-pack/

So, to answer your question - meta tags such as page title, page description, page keywords, are evaluated along with the on page readable content of the blog's page in order for the search engines to rank your blog in the results pages

you also need lots of links pointing to your blog pages with keywords in the link text - but that's another subject!

It would be better to have your own hosting and then download wordpress. That is the only way you are going to get anywhere, I believe. You can get free hosting here http://wizardhost.biz Then just use smart ftp to upload the latest version of wordpress from wordpress.org

My recommendations for plugins are

feedburnersmith for your RSS

Ultimate Tag Warrior

Google Sitemap generator.

My own experience with SEO-all-in-one was that it created too many crashes.

With Wordpress you can upload any number of templates, just make sure they're widget-ready and plugin-ready here's a couple of examples of my blogs http://astrosynchronicity.us/stars http://democratsforrealchange.info

If you need any help, just drop me a note.

Also, You can put your own adsense on your blog and make money

with blogspot, you cannot make any money.

vrajavala is right

you should really have your WordPress blog on your own web hosting account

different plugins may or may not work depending on how your hosting account is set up - and it's out of your control - so it's just a matter of finding a plugin that works for you

with most hosting accounts you just go to the control panel and click the Fantastico De Luxe link - you can then select WordPress and it will install a WordPress blog for you - you can then upload any WordPress theme you like - there are several free SEO WordPress themes that you can find though Google - these themes will probably take care of the meta tags for you without having to install a plugin

I use a lot of plugins - one of my blogs is:http://www.tradercurrencies.com and I always have about a 12 plugins running

something I didn't mention is that the meta tags are important in order to get targeted Google Adsense ads on your blog pages

Word Press is definitely the way to go. I highly recommend the semiologic word press theme if you can afford it. It is totally search engine optimized and has a lot of different skins and layouts that give it more versatiliy. It comes with a lot of plugins already installed and you can always add more. http://oventures.net/semiologic

You will be able to customize your meta tags as well as your page titles. Sorry, I accidently posted twice.

Hi Bigdaddy,

I believe there is a free cut down version of semiologic SEO wordpress theme - better than nothing

as long as you get good titles and descriptions into your blog pages that's probably all you need

it's really the external keyword rich anchor text links pointing to unique content on your blogs that will get you the top search engine rankings
