WordPress Sends Cerebral Palsy to the Back of the Bus

WordPress means a number of different things to a huge number of people. To use it successfully, each of us must find our voice. For Glenda Watson Hyatt, WordPress BECAME her voice. As a result, her disability was sent to the back of the bus! People got to meet her mind and personality, first. And, THAT, my friends is very, very good.

Today, I write from sheer inspiration and the celebration of a serendipitous accidental meeting that could only have happened in cyberspace. What a wondrous time we live in!

This entire hub is a testament to the strength and the glory of the human spirit. It says in the doing is the deed. I don't know Glenda and had frankly never heard of her until today and that, in and of itself, demonstrates -- once again, for me, the sheer wonder and marvel of the internet as a connecting force in our world. I was searching YouTube to discover whether or not a particular WordPress PlugIn Developer had published any videos I might find useful for a hub I had in mind. While scanning around, the phrase "Left Thumb Blogger" caught my eye -- and the rest, is well... this hub, and its acknowledgement of having discovered a wonderful example of the Undaunted Spirit. The Left Thumb Blogger is Mrs. Glenda Watson Hyatt, blogger extraordinaire. What a woman! What a winner! Just being herself, she lives large by DOING, every day.

Ladies and gentlemen, for those who've not yet met her, may I present Glenda Watson Hyatt, a woman who lives life with aplomb:

This is great and not just because you find her on Youtube ... grin one of my favorite websites. If not for the internet too I must say myself I would not be who I am today. To go with the awesome WWW though if not for software such as Jaws or Zoomtext I would not be on the web since I don't see too much. So allowing us to be us I feel such as you ahve pointed out so well is simply one amazing aspect of the web and how ti allows people to do and be more. ~Expect Miracles

The footer of a Friend's email has carried this message for as long as I've known him:

"Life is a self-fulfilling prophecy. You may not get what you want, but in the long run you will get what you expect."  - Denis Waitley

The general overview of Waitley's words added to the specificity of your own welcomed, ever-present reminder: Expect Miracles, is -- most succinctly -- a capsulization of Glenda Watson Hyatt's Way of Life.

It's like my favorite Aunt says of dire straights and my grandmother's take on life:

"I look around and I can see. Mama was blind from 26. She never gave up; never stopped moving forward, how dare I complain. She made a way out of no way. Well, by God, me, too!"

Peace and Love to you, Shane

Great hub...I actually met Glenda on Twitter and have had a few communications with her since I started getting her blog. She is Canadian and was thrilled to meet her. She has some interesting subjects she talks about in her blog...it is well worth the read.

it is grat that her voice can be shared in this manner becsue so many people in our communities have no idea how to relate to people who struggle with communication.

DeeJay, thanks for your kind words. Blogging has definitely enabled otherwise silent voices to be heard. It is an equalizing medium.
