One of the reasons why bloggers love to use WordPress as a blogging platform, is because of the various themes available to be used. Many themes are generic at best, and leave much to be desired. Others are beautiful, yet so complex that it is impractical to use them. Every once in a while, a theme rolls around that has a perfect balance of design, customization, and usability.

Simple.  While most Wordpress themes require a little bit of core file tinkering via FTP, Thesis does not.  Thesis was coded in such a way that only two files need to be updated (custom.php and custom.css).  Stylistic changes are made using "hooks", and once you have mastered the "hooks system, almost anything is possible with the Thesis theme. 

Versatile. Thesis can be used to make a very simple looking blog, a complex and professional looking blog, or anything else in between. The advanced coder and designer can work wonders with Thesis, as seen below in the featured websites running Thesis. Be careful not to take the versatility to far though, or your blog could end up looking this hideous.

Excellent SEO. While almost all other Wordpress themes require the installation of a few SEO plugins, the Thesis Theme does not. Thanks to the super clean Thesis coding, and some built in help, Thesis can has all of the necessary SEO tools ready upon installation.

Super Support. When you buy Thesis, you automatically get access to one of the most extensive support forums for any Wordpress theme. There is already such a great database of questions, answers, and Thesis tutorials at your disposal. If your question does not yet exist at the support forum, make sure to ask the question and an expert will reply with a workable solution.

Learning Curve.  Although Thesis' system of hooks does make customizing the theme much simpler in the long run, there is a bit of a learning curve before hooks are mastered (unless you are already a programmer).  Thankfully, Thesis has such wonderful support, and others have piped up with their own Thesis Hook Tutorials.

Price.  The old adage - "The good things in life are free", is not always true.  While Thesis does cost a small bit of money, you will realize that it is worth every penny.  I choose not to think of it as money I spent for a premium wordpress theme, I prefer to think of it as quite a good deal on website support.  The people over at some hosts and software companies charge heavily for website and software troubleshooting support.  For a one time fee, the support is excellent and unlimited. 

This is not a complete listing of all website running the Thesis theme, to do so would have made this hub much longer than necessary. Instead, I have chosen to post a sampling so that you can see what is possible with Thesis, and the many different ways that Thesis is being used.

CreepyLA
CreepyLA sports a fairly customized version of Thesis with a completely redone header and page links, a custom background and texture effects, and the insertion of a YouTube video on the sidebar.

PostGreen
PostGreen has mastered their Thesis design nicely with the insertion of a clean looking logo, simple page navigation, and a dynamic featured content and picture "ticker". They have used their sidebars equally well, and made a good overall usage of page space.

Ronnestam
Ronnestam is a great example of a lightly customized Thesis theme. With the exception of a custom logo and customized sidebar content, the Thesis theme has remained much the same as it would right out of the box.
